There are several tools and resources to use when you want to better understand your personality,…read moremotivations, and interests. So many that determining the right tools to achieve the outcome that you specifically are looking for is near impossible and certainly overwhelming. Not only does Jen know the tools available, but she also knows what to use and when to use them for her clients. She masterfully determines what you need even if you are not quite sure yourself... even more, Jen has wonderful personal experience in business and life and is a student of her craft and clients. The results I have achieved working with Jen are beyond what I expected. She holds me accountable and knows when I need a softer approach. I wish I had started working with her years ago and highly recommend her services to my friends and family. She is a gem! Update: it's been a few weeks since I first wrote the above. I would still write the same words today but having continued with Jen, I have even more to add. Working with Jen changed my life. Seriously- I like to tell my friends that "Jen woke me up to the life I want to life." She didn't do all of the work but she lit the path and held me accountable for the parts I needed and still need to do to feel how I want to feel, have what I want to have and be who I hope to be. Once I grew up, I felt like the answers to those things would become obvious. They didn't and I became a self help book expert... still am- and podcasts... but Jen brings it all full circle for me. What I actually learned is that I have a career I love. I can change small and even large pieces of that at any time, for now I choose to approach my day differently. I "get to" change my perspective and "I get to" get even more out of every area of my life. Jen is a Leadership Whisperer! A true student of the process, the tricks & tools and the opportunity to realize the highest vision of ourselves! It's funny, a lot of the things Jen has introduced me to are things I already had inside, all along. BUT- Some were on backwards or inside out... who knew? No wonder I was "feeling off." Thank you Jen!

The Energy Leadership Index was a great tool for learning and was fast to take and gave me helpful feedback on my strengths and ways that I approach life and work, especially how I handle stress and challenging situations and relationships. What I liked best was that it was very thorough and to the point and quickly helped me become aware of things about myself that were good to have pointed out. These insights and understandings helped me find better ways to handle challenging situations and people in my life. Overall a terrific self-discovery experience and one where I learned a lot and felt encouraged and supported by my coach who was very knowledgeable.

I was waiting there for 30 minutes before someone came in to see me. We went over my resume pretty quickly, discussed jobs I was looking for. Then I was told that they didn't have anything for me because Fridays are hard and with the weekend coming up there wouldn't be a lot of places interviewing but I would hear something back by Monday at the latest. I haven't heard from anyone since then....

I just recently moved back to Des Moines, and since being here and looking for work I've found that…read moreMidwest Professional Staffing is one of the worst staffing agencies in the Des Moines metro area. I called inquiring about a web designer job on or around the last week of June and spoke to a Blair Underwood. He immediately suggested that I should come in for an "interview." I first declined, as there was a sense of urgency in his voice to get me to come in, for whatever the reason (subsequently wasting my time). So I reluctantly agreed to meet the folks at Midwest Professional Staffing. Blair said I would be meeting with Darin Longman. I meet with Darin, and everything sounded hopeful to get me in front of their client, Seneca Tank. Darin specifically explained to me, "if I was the account manager, id submit your resume." Long story short, I call Darin Longman on Tuesday of this week, and he states that he hasn't heard from the account manger; as I am writing this review, they have yet to submit me to their client! Any other reputable staffing agency will get a potential employee submitted within a day. I was shocked to say the least. On top of that, Darin said he would be out for the rest of the week; I didn't really buy that. I take it upon myself to email Seneca Tank to see if they are actually even hiring for a web designer position. Two days later I get an email back stating: "Marlon Thank you for contacting us. Currently this position is not available for hiring. We will be looking towards the end of the year to begin to take applications. I will definitely keep yours on file and contact you for an interview then." In my opinion, I feel I was lied to or misled by Midwest Professional Staffing, even after I repeatedly asked Blair Underwood before I met with them, if the web designer job was still available. Blair told me it was, and so did Darin Longman. Based on my experience, I would steer far and clear of Midwest Professional Staffing. There are far more reputable staffing agencies in the Des Moines, IA metro area that actually submit employees to clients, rather than hold out on them with their account managers.

I have family in Iowa, so I reached out to Remedy and asked for their help finding work. They found me a great job within a week of me reaching out to them while my family found me an apartment. I went from being incapable of paying for a place to stay and living in a basement to having my own two bedroom apartment and a full time job with overtime. And I just got hired on full time by the employer! Thanks Remedy!

And like recruiters usually do, she simply said they didn't have anything else. Well I told her I would begin looking for another job and give my two weeks notice when necessary. Within 2.5 weeks of this conversation, the assignment mysteriously ends. This really put me in a bind financially as I went a few weeks without any income due to this foolishness. And I know for a fact Remedy is looking for another replacement because I saw the agency wide email sent out in regards to this after they let me go (I still have friends on the inside). Needless to say Stacy is petty and unprofessional, I would never return to Remedy again or recommend anyone else either. They also make you go through a scam artist company called Comdata if you want direct deposit. I had several problems with them and they charge fees for everything. There are far better temp agencies in Des Moines especially ones with higher paying jobs. In the end, I'm glad it worked out this way because my new assignment pays a much BETTER wage based on my experience and it's Remedy's loss.
