This store is really lovely, and it seems like most of the staff is usually in training and learning the ropes. But they handle it so beautifully. The store is very nicely curated and has a nice selection of things to choose from. Unlike some of the other shops on the strip that look more "chutchky-ish" and with higher prices. Just note that the main street in Chatham packs. We had to return an item because unfortunately it didn't fit our table, and we were heartbroken that it didn't come in the size we needed. But based on the scavenging, I've been doing since moving from Hudson to the Cape, their prices are not scary. The store is also very beautifully presented, it's hard not to want to walk away with almost everything! Welcoming, tastefully, curated and decorated and supported by a lovely staff. Everything you want in a tourist town looking for knickknacks to bring home, or for beachy sophistication that's affordable for your beach house or your residence. Well done people! read more

Great selection, but couldn't get over the fact that the sales people stalk you throughout the store. Every item I picked up an item the sales woman was right next to me making a comment. Did not make for a great shopping experience. Left without purchasing anything because the atmosphere was so awkward. I will never return to this store because of this. They need to give people space to shop. read more

Beware. Was asked for my receipt while I waited for slow service. Asked to pay more money after private convo that took place in front of me about what to charge for my items. Felt awkward and said as much. Approached by a woman I learned was manager who barked questions at me. Horrible. Need to donate items to cleanse myself of bad karma. read more

Sales manager was extremely rude to me and my two sons as we looked at a sofa and some chairs. We sat down to try out the pieces and she snapped at us with 'don't lounge on the furniture unless you're intending to buy it'. I was taken aback as I was quite interested in the unique pieces of furniture. After she said that and berated us for sitting on furniture in the store, I certainly had absolutely no intention of buying anything from that store. read more

I had the best experience in customer service when I stopped into this store recently. This is one of my mom's favorite stores on the Cape, so I wanted to see if I could find her a little gift. While there were plenty of beautiful things, nothing for her caught my eye, but I did see a neat-looking dog toy and brought it to the register. While there and while paying, I asked the cashier if she thought my dogs (pitbull and husky) would be able to destroy it (obviously I was hoping the answer was no). The cashier wasn't sure, and I was just going to buy it anyway when the store owner stepped in. instead of trying to sell me the item, she told me that she'd read some reviews of the product and read that some people's bigger dogs (like the size of mine) had had issues with the toy breaking from hard chewing. My pitbull is super gentle and loving with people but LOVES to destroy toys, so I was really grateful she told me that. She ended up saying that I'd be better off with another toy -- one she didn't sell in her store. I was blown away by her honesty and willingness to do the right thing and definitely recommend this store to anyone who is in or near Chatham! read more

I had a wonderful shopping experience thanks to the kind people at Tale Of the Cod! They had the perfect wooden salad bowl for Mother's Day, gift wrapped it beautifully and even included a Mother's Day card. The bowl is a gorgeous walnut piece handmade by an artist in Vermont. They could not have been nicer and it was a great experience shopping here. Highly recommend for great, high quality finds and helpful friendly staff. read more

Charming store with a beautifully curated selection of gifts. I'm not usually a faux flower fan but bought a beautiful faux flower arrangement made locally by a teacher. It was elegant, well made and very realistic looking. Love it! read more
