Gayle and I spent 2 nights here in May. We had originally tried to book the Parador in Baiona, but was unable to because of a big wedding that reserved most of the rooms. The Parador also had an advantage of being within walking distance of Baiona and its restaurants and bars. The Talaso Atlantico is an easy drive (and park), or a long walk. That walk is actually part of the Camino Portuguese (Coastal Route) in either direction from the Hotel.
We were originally going to take a boat to Cies (one of the Atlantic Islands within a National Park), but the weather was rainy that day, and overcast and threatening the day before. We ended up exploring Baiona one day and driving down the coast into Portugal on the other. The Portugal drive was neat in terms of checking out that section of the Camino and marveling how there are really no borders in parts of the EU. In terms of a tourist experience, these were down days and ones that had us wondering in hindsight if should have just skipped this part of the trip.
When we checked in, Talaso's normally ample parking was an issue because of....a wedding. The front desk has us park in one of the handicapped spots, which I wasn't thrilled about. Otherwise, the logistics of our stay were just fine. The hotel has a nice patio (with food/bar service), a generous breakfast, a restaurant, and a really cool salt water pool/spa which we enjoyed. Our room was also very nice and with an expansive view. read more
