One word. Hippo. That's right. Get your breakfast taco fix in a big way with the Hippo....a taco stuffed (I'm talking STUFFED) with goodness. Rice, beans, bacon, chorizo, fresh cilantro, fresh pico, bacon...so good. I order my Hippo sans chorizo and eggs. I've also added sausage and nixed the bacon. You really can't go wrong. They are open at 6:30am-1:30pm Mon-Friday. Saturdays 6:30-1 Takeria la Rosa is owned and operated by a sweet, local family. This will be your new favorite place to pick up an authentic Mexican breakfast or lunch. read more

The gentleman that helped me was very welcoming. This was my first time trying this taco joint. I was slightly disappointed with the taco... I was expecting strips of bacon, but it was chopped up bacon pieces and the potatoes lacked any flavor... if I come back, I'll request whole bacon instead. read more

The breakfast tacos had potential but for 5 dollars a taco you expect there not to be any egg shells in the taco and the whole taco had egg shells. Might as well had a hard shell taco cause that's how crunchy it was. read more

Hands down some of the best breakfast tacos I have ever had. Priced right. Service is quick. Can literally eat off two tacos all day. Whenever I pass through town I have to detour here. read more

This place is jamming' and I really mean that... it sizzles. The food here is fantastic for all who enjoy authentic Mexican dishes. I haven't had the pleasure of wrecking the buffet yet as I avoid going into restaurants presently, but the menu says they offer an array of Mexican and Chinese style food. I always get the fajita plate, which comes with sliced beef fajita meat and grilled onions, along with sides and tortillas. We also get the queso which is solid, simple melted goodness. The staff is really friendly and seem to enjoy working here; they may be mostly family. They have a large menu with lots of great things from quesadillas to burgers and breakfast plates to parrilladas. We usually order ahead of time and pick up at their drive thru window. read more

ordered a bacon egg potatoe and cheese taco and only got 1 small piece of bacon to be honest eggs didn't have flavor. worst place in brazoria county read more

This place deserves better reviews. I'm coming through town and don't come here often but I needed breakfast and I'm very happy to have ordered tacos from here. No, it's not a 5 star restaurant, but it's a cozy vibe and respectful service. The tacos are very reasonably priced and very tasty. Would come here again. Hopefully this time they'll have the green sauce, sadly they were out when I came in! read more

authentic Mexican breakfast tacos it is one of the things that I love.I despise breakfast tacos at gas station, because of the cheap quality of the tortilla and ingredients that the gas stations provide in order for them to profit. When I saw this restaurant I was a bit excited. I ordered two breakfast tacos eggs and chorizo,Opened up the aluminum foil and had the smell of cheap quality tortillas that you get from the gas station, and the salsa wasn't handmade it was actually bought from those glass container chip dips quality salsa. Very disappointing tacos For a Mexican restaurant but I do understood that nothing beats homemade food but I do know the taste of factory Premade tortillas and factory salsa. This place is no different from a gas station when it comes to ingredients. read more

Food is okay. Service is horrible. Very slow and almost awkward the obvious difference service is between regular patrons and others.

Breakfast tacos were delicious. Friendly service. Prices are fair. Went with my family of 5 and everyone had a great meal. Fresh pico de gallo!!! read more

Great little taco hut. Breakfasts are the best thing going. Breakfast tacos will hurt you, they're made so big, try the Hippo. Wish they served real cream for coffee instead of the fake crap tho' read more

Awesome breakfast tacos and other breakfast food, but not sure if they were ready for the lunch menu at 11:15. My food would have been good if it were hot. I think they made my plate too soon, while doing hubby's food. Then there is a queso issue. Apparently they didn't have any made yet for the day. It took forever for them to bring it after our other food. It was like watered down cheddar cheese with some green peppers in it. However, hubby says salsa is excellent. They have an excellent menu but just need to spice up (season up) their food and maybe service too a little. Will definitely come back for breakfast and want to give them another shot in the evening. Just won't order the queso. read more
