This is a diamond that stands out shining in the declining medical care practices of Southern…read moreIndiana that sadly have become simple impersonal corporate offices. Community Medical Center is not a large center but it is the most efficient computer literate medically knowledgeable polite and kind practice I have ever been to including large medical centers in Los Angeles and San Diego. Every office person at the entrance behind the windows at desks with computers and modernized databases are cheerful, professional, welcoming, quick and respectful. The hallways and exam rooms are spotlessly clean and disinfected with gurneys and furniture lower and designed for people of all ages and abilities. They seem to have their own lab with a cheerful respectful phlebotomist and the physician sits with the patient closely and asks detailed questions that he acts on immediately via his or her computer so that before you even leave the office he has (in my case and other) already made referrals for tests or scans or X-rays or to specialists or to pharmacist. You are automatically set up on their website so that you can sign in and see your test results or orders to specialists or tests and can easily message the physician with questions and they many times message you with what is being done found out or recommended. The website js set up to keep the patient as a partner with the doctor. Very very unusual these days but so needed and like the ones we see in movies but never experience until you come to Community Medical Center

I had been having stomach issues for the past few months and have not had a primary care physician…read moresince my pediatrician. So, I finally put on my big girl pants and found someone close near by to help me out. Since the Middletown KentuckyOne was not taking new patients, I was referred to see Dr. Erica Gettis and thought she was great. I found it a little odd that I had to wait for my paperwork to be snail mailed to me to even be considered for an appointment, but then again I don't go to the doctor very much so whatever. A few days later I received a call from them to get scheduled and it was a fairly easy process. The entire building is very nice, including Dr. Gettis' office. She scheduled me for an Ultrasound and let me know about possibilities of gallstones and surgery. Getting the Ultrasound done was a pretty easy process as well, and they called me the next day to let me know that the test was negative. There were a couple things that irked me a bit; One being a technician/nurse that could not take my blood work and didn't really seem to know what he was doing, so I have yet to get my blood drawn there. The second being every visit I've had takes an unnecessary amount of time. My check up took almost two hours, and would have lasted longer if I didn't tell them that I was going to be late for a work meeting. I'm still satisfied to be a patient here though, and recommend Dr. Gettis to anyone in the East end needing a PCP.

I've just moved to the area and needed to find a new primary care provider. The office is nice and…read moreclean. The wait was almost nonexistent. When I was in the room with the doctor, he introduced himself and gave a bit of his history so I could know who I'm entrusting my health with. (I knew right then this was different than others who expect respect based solely on their title). He then asked me about myself and my life. Asked what my goals and expectations were. Honestly, I've not felt like my healthcare was a joint effort with a doctor as much as I have until this visit. I felt heard, seen, and valued. When we discussed renewal of existing prescriptions, he questioned the logic behind each and we came up with a me go forward plan based on what is safest and most logical as a Plan A, He even took time to check my insurance as we talked to see if the meds he discussed would be covered, to save us all time and headache. I picked this doctor randomly from my insurance list, but I now feel so lucky that I did!
