Thank God, nay, Thank Goodness for Walgreens Take Care Clinic, Doc Jenny, and my girl Laura W for her life and wallet saving suggestion. Let me start off by saying that I have no health insurance and before today I was fully behind Socialism for the healthcare benefits. 24 hours ago I felt the onset of my very first UTI and today I contemplated cutting out my urethra with a shard of glass. ...Enter Laura W. and her genius suggestion of going to the Walgreens Take Care Clinic. For $75 you're able to get top notch treatment and prescription meds (at whatever the med prices are) on the spot. Be warned that waiting times at the clinic may remind you of that scene in Beetlejuice where he's in the waiting room with #9,998,383,750,000 and the office is calling on #3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuhLtH_Jg1U&feature=related) but rest assured you'll be in good hands when they do finally get to you. Dr. Jenny was amazing. Super friendly and not at all one of those curmudgeon medical folks. As soon as the letters U.T.I. slipped out of my mouth she put me on th fast track to getting treated. She wasted no time and had a sense of humor to boot... extra points for her saying the words "poo hole" to which I absolutely could not stop laughing and instantly felt better. Turns out- Patch Adams was right, humor is the best medicine... well that and a hefty subscription of bacteria eliminating medicine. I should also mention that Dr. Jenny took into account my non-insurance lifestyle and budget every step of the way and worked her magic to ensure that I paid the least amount possible for my visit, diagnosis, and prescription. Thanks to Laura W, Doc Jenny, and Walgreens' low costs I no longer have to contemplate faking my own death to escape insane and medical costs. read more

Noticed two of my friendlies just reviewed this place and thought I'd add to the 5 star ratings!! I first went to the Take Care Clinic when I needed a TB skin test for teaching. At the time I still had insurance but hadn't met the deductible for the year and figured I'd be paying out of pocket anyway. So, I decided to check ou the Take Care Clinic at Walgreens. When I first got there I signed up on the computer and right away an assistant came out to greet me and ask what I was there for. She also gave me some papers to fill out. I thought I would be waiting a while because there was two other people in front of me but they got to me within the half hour. The best part is that while you're waiting you can shop around for things you don't really need but hey, I like shopping :) Once I got into the room the doctor was really nice and super quick. She took the type of skin test I needed for school and made sure I had all the paper work I needed as well. It was only $25 bucks. A lot less cheaper than I'd be paying even with my insurance at the docs office. Now insurance-less, I'm happy to know there's a place I can go to if I am not feeling so good. **Thank you Candice G for posting even though you had to go to hell and back** God awful side pains that feel like mini daggers jabbing you with every single breath, a calling for your bed when you'd been sleeping for hours and a reckoning to join the walking dead. Are you feeling sick yet? Are you with you without insurance or your PCP's office is closed? Note to self-when new to an area know your 'escape aka emergency routes'. I am a healthy person and can count on my fingers how many times I've been sick in the last twenty years on one hand. Since moving to the area, I've been without medical insurance and without the knowledge of what a good medical provider is. Oh holy hot mess. Know your escape/emergency routes. Feeling the onset of a urinary tract infection I immediately got on the bandwagon of finding a doctor. Not willing to cough up monies that I don't have to waste on shit I don't need and know only a doctor's office will charge because I'm "new" I was left with the mission of finding a walk in clinic. *Ugh, I shudder at the thought* Where do you start when you are completely new to the area? I have worked in healthcare forever and beyond skeptical in finding good healthcare. So I turned to YELP because like a good neighbor-it's always there...and found Candice's review and felt her pain-amidst my pain. And hauled my ass to TakeCare where I received fast and genuine care asap. For minimal charges I got a complete visit with a PA and a prescription for some bacterial ass kickers. Overall I walked out in a little over an hour with a visit coming out to $101-but just to forewarn if you have a culture taken the fee for the lab will cost more than your visit. Anyhoo, the service was just what was needed. I'm free and clear and no longer in a bitchy-zombie like state thanks to the fine staff at TakeCare. read more

Having no insurance, it takes a lot for me to see a dr. or nurse practitioner. With my fever, I almost went to the wrong Walgreens, thinking this was the one on Raymond. Too bad it wasn't. This Walgreens is filthy. Like, how-the-hell-is-something-this-nasty-in-Naperville? filthy. Apparently, that's because this is the Walgreens with the highest traffic, and thus, the one that can afford to have a Take Care Clinic. But I digress... I'd called half an hour before arriving to make sure they could take me, and was assured they could. I arrived at 6:30pm, an hour before they stop seeing patients. I walk up to the pharmacy area, looking for a person to talk to about the clinic, and see a sign to check in at the electronic kiosk, which was all fingerprint-smeary dirty. Well, I'm germy enough already, what the hell, why not? I check in at the electronic kiosk only for it to tell me they're not accepting anymore patients. Yes, in my feeling-like-death-died-in-my-throat exhaustion, I had a bit of a hissy fit. The nurse practitioner came out and told me she'd get me in. *sigh of relief* ok. She fixes the kiosk and has me re-sign in. The cricket crawling across the floor through the room was cute. (yes, cricket). But more importantly, the nurse practitioner was very nice. She listened well, and got me taken care of. Turned out I had a sinus infection and strep throat. She wrote me a script for antibiotics and a note to excuse me from work the next day. The line at the pharmacy for this location was 5 customers deep, so I called over to the Walgreens on Fairway Dr., where my review will continue... All in all, I was happy this place was here. They were nice. They got me taken care of. And that's what matters! Dirty or not, I'll be back (until I can afford insurance and doctors' offices again). read more

I was recently reminded of the good times spent waiting to see one of the docs at this life saving lil clinic when a friend needed somewhere to go without good insurance. This rating comes from the fact I can walk out with relief from any basic issue I am having for under 100$. When I graduated college early, I was rewarded by being dropped from my parents health insurance by the end of the month. Fast forward a few months and I decided I want to substitute teach. The only issue is you need a recent physical so they know you are able to stand for the 8 hours of child corralling. Walgreens Take Care Clinic saved the day with a 65$ physical. A trip to my old family doctor would have cost 200+. There website says "Our board-certified Family Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants actively listen to each of our patients' needs, conduct thorough examinations, and provide individualized diagnoses and treatment plans -- they can even write prescriptions if you need them." and they are not lying. I feel I have had better appointments there then I have had with my family doctor. One warning is be prepared to wait. The earlier you can get in the better. Luckily they are located in a Walgreens, so you can get some of your weekly shopping done. read more

Walgreens Clinic on Book & 95th street in Naperville is such a ripoff. You promote as "no insurance, come here" We provide convenient......blah blah blah Let me tell you that I paid $125 copay for my son to be seen at a HIGHER level office by a physician and got stitches to boot. 2 hour visit. My husband went to this location and was in and out in 5 minutes. Saw a NP and the bill was double my sons. What a complete and utter ripoff. Do not go here unless you want to start off with an $185 office visit. You're not paying for quality care. Just the name of the system. Run run run MedSpring is WAY more affordable, clean, and can provide a greater variety of services. read more

I spent over two hours waiting only to be told to go home and take Motrin (sore throat, sinus infection, ears popping, hacking up green mucus were my symptoms). The nurse practitioner also said my lymph nodes were not swollen even though they dedicated definitely were!! I went to a real doctors office the next day and they couldn't believe Walgreens walk-in sent me home empty handed!! I am now on antibiotics and prednisone. I will never waste my time at a Walgreens walk in clinic again! read more

My 3 year old complaint of an ear ache. It was 6 pm and our doctor's office was closed. As I have done before, I decided to take him to the take care clinic. If it was an ear infection, I did not want him to go through the night with the pain. I need medication for it right away. We arrived at 6:45 pm, when we got to the desk, the receptionist, Ana stated that they were no longer taking any more patients. The office was going to close at 7:30 pm. I say it is only 6:45 pm, you don't close for another 45 minutes. She say that there are 2 people in with the doctor and one patient waiting. They will not see anymore patients. I say my son's ear is bothering him, what would you suggest I do. I am here before closing time and should be able to see the doctor. She suggested that I came back at 8 am tomorrow when they reopen or go to the emergency room. Then another patient came in and she told her that she would not be able to see the doctor too because they were closing at 7:30 pm. Although the time states that they are opened until 8 pm. The whole reason of the take care clinic is to be seen by a doctor when your doctor is not available. I was at the clinic prior to the office closing and should have been able to see the doctor. We ended up going to the emergency room because of the pains. Going forward, I will NEVER take my business to Walgreens because of this. Any needs that I have will be serviced by CVS, who also have a version of the take care clinic. I am certain that they will be more then happy to take my business and those of my family and friends. My RX will also be moved to CVS. What your employee, Ana failed to realize is that I had a needed to see the doctor. My son was in pain but apparently she had plans for the evening that did not include caring for a sick 3 year old. It is disappointing. read more

I had a terrible,terrible experience at this clinic and was seen by Jill Shepherd. I don't care how long of a wait is at the Edward ER on a Saturday but I will wait and never go to one of these clinics in the Walgreens. The nurse, not even a doctor, missed my pneumonia!! I ended up in the ER with difficulty breathing and the doctor said I had pneumonia. He said he can't believe that I was sent home without antibiotics and some medicine to help my breathing. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

With a Walgreen's seemingly on every corner, I never knew about the Take Care Clinics until I needed a throat culture for my son and the doctor's office was booked into the next day. With nothing to lose, we headed out to the nearest one in Westmont, a sparkling new facility, and were pleased with the efficient check-in, friendly staff and less than an hour later, our positive test results led to the next counter where the prescription was waiting. On with our day, and antibiotics in hand, we wiped a day off recovery! Nice to know this service is there when you need it. read more

I will never go to one of these places again. The nurse and the Nurse Practioner whom I was led to believe was an M.D. did not communicate with each other at all. The Nurse Practioner was rude laughed at my allergies and insisted that I take them anyway and go to the E.R. if indeed I experienced them. Forunately the pharamacist caught her error and helped me. I will go to the pharmacy but not to another Wal Green's Clinic. I will go to an Urgent Care if I must before I go here. I would not recommend Wal Green's Clinic to my worst enemy. read more

I've seen some negative reviews of this clinic, located at 3035 Book rd., Naperville, Il. I don't usually write reviews but felt the need to in this case. I've used this clinic many times over the years for everything from convenient flu shots for myself and my family, to illnesses like sinus infections and my child's ear infections when his pediatrician was booked solid. I just visited on Thursday evening for extremely painful muscle spasms in my right shoulder. The nurse practitioner, Jill, couldn't have been more thorough. She was extremely concerned because of my history of herniated disks in my cervical and lumbar spine. Jill did a complete neurological exam, checked and rechecked my medical history and medications, and spent at least 1/2 hour examining me. I've never received this type of attention from my doctor of 20+ years. The phone rang on Saturday morning, and it was Jill, following up on my condition. When I told her that the muscle relaxant and naproxen relieved the pain but didn't eliminate it, she was adamant that I follow up with my family doctor or the ER if I didn't feel better by Monday. I HIGHLY recommend this clinic. I've never had a bad experience here and feel as though in many cases the level of care has been superior to that received in my doctor's office. I have excellent insurance coverage, but it also seems like the place to go for those who don't. read more
