My father is getting exceptional care at Elmhurst…read more I want to send an expression of gratitude to the Social Work team - Alexa and Brianne who have been working on lining up resources for my Father after he is released this week. Even though I had already seen several doctors within the practice over the years, they assigned me to a new physician who seems to demonstrate a real lack of genuine care for patients. I asked to switch to a doctor I already had an established relationship with and was flat-out denied. What made this even more frustrating was that I had recommended this doctor to other family members, and they had also become patients there. Yet I was told that because they had not seen the doctor within the last year, they were no longer considered active patients. This was during 2023, as the pandemic was winding down -- a time when many people still were not scheduling routine visits unless absolutely necessary. Every visit now feels less about healthcare and more about being sold something whether it's the latest vaccine or a new diet drug. What should be a simple refill for blood pressure medication has become an exhausting process. Every refill turns into, "You need to come in for another checkup, physical, or bloodwork several times a year or we won't refill it." Yet during the physical itself, I was warned not to discuss anything beyond the physical because that would require a separate appointment, and another copay. Communication is equally frustrating. If you need help with a prescription or pharmacy issue, there are multiple phone numbers to call, but nobody seems empowered to actually help. The standard response is, "I'm not part of that team, but I can send them a message." Meanwhile, the pharmacy never hears back and this is with Walgreens, not some small independent pharmacy. The office used to feel patient-focused. Now it feels cold, fragmented, and transactional. At this point, the patient feels more like a nuisance standing between EE Health company and extracting as much money from insurance as possible.

I had my MRI this morning. Leigh in Registration was nice and helpful. Shaun, the MRI technologist, was so great! He noticed on my form that I ticked yes to "Are you claustrophobic?" He took extra care to make sure we took things slowly, and even broke up the test into 3 sections, so he could bring me out of the machine, to take a few breathes. He contacted my doctor about a question on the order, and this saved me 60 minutes more in the machine! So we finished in 90 minutes, versus 2.5 hours. The facility is clean, and all covid precautions and protocols were observed. Only concern is the cost, which is higher than other MRI centers. I was also "invited" to pay the bill in advance, both online this morning during the e-check in process, as well as when I checked in in person at the facility. I was already super stressed heading into the test, and being asked to pre-pay was a little more stressful. But the lady still allowed me to proceed with the MRI, even though I said I couldn't pre-pay the $2,400. So that was nice.

I mentioned that I brought him in because the nebulizer treatments weren't working. After being seen by the nurse practitioner he was only treated for asthma symptoms (given dup neb vs albuterol). In the past a nasal swab was taken before treatment. He was never tested. He was given an oral steroid in office and prescribed an oral steroid as well. The treatment plan was to use the nebulizer every 4 hours while home. As mention the neb treatments weren't working. Saturday the symptoms slightly improved but by Sunday night everything was back to the original symptoms. Luckily I was able to get an appointment with his PCP and turns out he had the flu. I wish the nurse practitioner would have tested him while there as it would have likely prevented a double trip. The flu is what was triggering the asthma. Also worth mentioning that the rooms and waiting room aren't the cleanest.

But you can see the wear and tear much easier since everything is white. It felt gross in there - both in the waiting room and exam room. They didn't even have the paper roll on the exam table. The paper roll itself looked empty.. and clearly not a priority to replace it. The RN that we met with was rather pompous. I mentioned my youngest was diagnosed with human Metapneumovirus a week prior that went into an ear infection and strep. So, I wanted to get my boys checked out to ensure that the same virus was not turning into something secondary for them as well. When I shared this information, the nurse very flatly responded, "so.. a virus" ... as if the type and more information was not important. I then mentioned my oldest had a stidor sound when he would work himself up to cough. With a condensing tone told me "that's a medical emergency." I knew it wasn't based on other indications. But it definitely made me feel judged. I came to receive assistance, not judgement. The PA himself was fine. Nothing to write home about. Not exceptional/ not overly great considering this is a kid's pediatric urgent care. But fine in a pinch. He was thorough in his exam -- nothing was further found that was concerning and just confirmed this virus needs to run its course. So, I guess, Ms. RN, the stidor was not a medical emergency. In the future, I will probably try another pediatric urgent care. It's not worth the judgement.

I have been going to Camelback for quite a few years now due to inconsistency in my own schedule (otherwise I probably could have prevented further damage and been better, quicker!) and every single time, it has helped me tremendously. This time around I have tried to really commit and keep a consistent schedule. The results have made a world of difference. When I came back to Camelback this year, I had numbness and tingling in my right foot, terrible pain in what felt like my tailbone that prevented me for sitting for long periods of time (which is hard for me because I work in a corporate office!), and excruciating neck pain due to issues in my neck as well. Since returning, the numbness in my foot has stopped, I can sit for extended periods of time without having to shift every 15 minutes, and I can look down at my phone without having awful pain in my lower neck. My quality of life has improved significantly just in my everyday tasks. I have had interactions with every single member of the staff there and each one is incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I brought my 17 yr old son there this year as well and he experienced about a 70-80 percent improvement as well (we both did Chiro & PT) since going. They say it's not a sprint, it's a journey, and the hard work and patience will pay off!! Highly recommend Camelback if you're looking to get your quality of life back!

I felt as though the doctor wanted come to diagnosis hand out the medicine and walk away. The doctor plainly stated he was a scientist and I told the doctor I was a man of God like I said in my other review, I'm not an experiment and I will never go back there again to be treated like a child thinking that I don't understand how simple medicine works, and how colds and flus and strep throat are easy to detect were not the condition that they were suffering from. I would recommend that if you love your children and yourself go to someplace that will actually treat you. This place is just a big cash grab and has been for a really long time when Covid hit. Oh, that was their money their money maker. I can't wait to give you the test results Dr. Shekhar however you spell that I could care less but I'm gonna get the test and the psych evaluation done somewhere else so stop asking me to do it because you wanna try to prove me wrong. May the Lord's light shine upon DuPage medical group Naperville. by the way, they've kept my family in debt for the last five years because they wouldn't work a deal out with us. They had to have every last cent of what we owed them. I think they gave us like 15-20% off of the original bill what a bunch of greedy people. They weren't totally to blame my employer Flagship never put my son on the policy and stuck us with $10,000 worth of extra bills to pay for his birth even though I was paying on a family plan they never added my son to the insurance. This place did nothing except for make it worse and enslave us in a payment plan for the next 10 years.. I hope this place goes out of business. If you believe in God, this ain't the place to go cause they don't. all the good doctors left a long time ago and I'll bet you they'll vouch for it cause Dr Nikolai was a good man and so was Jentel was a good man. I don't know how to spell their names either. It's never good that shit.
