As an American traveling I was looking forward to some great sushi. Not! My family and I arrived and looked over the buffet of sushi. Everything looked good. But after sitting at the table for some time I tried to get a waiters attention so we could order drinks. The waiter even served the next table who's diners arrived after us. Each time I tried to get his attention he would look away smartly.
Finally, after about 10 minutes I walked over to the cashier and asked if a waiter could be asked to come to our table. I received a strange response and decided at that moment to dine elsewhere. Upon departure the waiter came forward and I asked he if refused to serve us because we were American. His answer, in English was YES.
