As I am reading through the reviews on Yelp, I wonder if we have the same Dj for my mother's 85th Birthday celebration. We did no have the same experience that others had. We told him the event started at 5:00 and was over at 8:00. John was set up at 4:30- but we had to ask him to start playing at 5:15- we gave him a play list. Although he acknowledges receipt of our play list, we maybe heard 10 songs from our play list. We had to keep going up to him and tell him to keep it moving= play another song. Our playlist included songs from today, the 50s and 70's, 80's- I would be hard pressed to say he accomplished this. He brought some one along that was suppose to do Johnny Cash, but it was not a very good impersonation of him. I was embarrassed. He seemed to be focused on the Johnny Cash impersonator rather than the 85th party. Not good. He also promised to bring along his wife- who impersonates June Carter Cash- but he said she had to go to another gig! Who says they are going to have someone and then they do not show up??? Then about 7;30, he said that he had to wrap it up, because he had another gig to get to!!! What???? We were so embarrassed, but not until he started handing out his business cards- Who does that at a party??? Then at exactly 8:00 PM before the last piece of cake was served- he shut off the music off- and there was nothing left but 65 guests still eating cake- in the stillness of the Woodbridge air. In fairness, the caterers did run a bit late- but because he had scheduled another event right after ours- he had to really cut our event short. And he did- the music stop abruptly. The person who recommended us to him, apologized and said- that John can be either way. Unfortunately, we had to see the either way with him. I would not recommend Take Bow Productions. We paid $200 per hour - way too much money for what he did. Very embarrassing read more
