Ron White prides themselves on carrying exclusive and European makes of footwear, so they have…read moreshoes and boots that can't be found anywhere else in the city. They do carry more expensive lines of footwear, so the fact that their prices are high has everything to do with the brands they carry. They aren't a cheap shoe store, but what they do sell is priced well for what it is. I had been looking for Frye boots last year and couldn't find them anywhere. I passed Ron White and saw a whole Frye display in the window - my lucky day! The saleswoman insisted on measuring my feet to ensure I got the correct size of boot. She brought out several different styles and sizes with no complaints even though I was clearly only buying one pair. She checked another location for one size that they did not have in stock. I wasn't sure about the feel of the heel on the boot (I am exclusively a flats girl) so she let me walk all over the store and even gave me a couple pairs of clean socks of different weights to try so I could get a feel for the way the boot fit. She even showed me how to tuck my jeans into my socks so they wouldn't bunch up under the boots (maybe an obvious trick but I had no idea). I wore the boots the entire next week. My feet were red and sore from breaking them in, and there was a spot at the front that was really hurting my toes and where the leather just didn't want to give. One of the bad things about Frye boots is that they are very, very stiff when you first get them, so it's hard to tell if they are really a good fit or not. I learned that the toe box doesn't stretch out during normal wear of a boot like this because the leather is thick and structured. I was devastated - surely I hadn't bought the wrong size, after all the attention and care from my saleswoman! I called the store and explained my problem. I really expected to be told that there wasn't anything they could do. Instead, they asked that I bring the boots in and they would stretch them for me for free. Maybe this is the normal high-end shoe store kind of service that's always given to everyone, but it's the first time I have ever had anyone make that offer without being pressured. I also repeated the ritual of donning a myriad of sock weights and parading around the store to make sure that they were stretched enough before I took them home. I have been added to their mailing list - from that one purchase, I receive postcards offering me money off or free gifts with my next purchase. I don't buy shoes very often but when I do I don't skimp, so I appreciate that they value my business. For the service alone I recommend stopping in, but they have a fabulous selection that really does have something for everyone.

Excellent shoes to be located here particularly Taryn Rose…read more I like that they carry items that aren't crap, and they have a good range of solid shoes to buy. They are NOT CHEAP but they are well-priced for what they do sell.

Never had an issue with this store. The call centre, on the other hand ... let's not go there…read more I had to return some slippers which had a manufacturers' defect and they provided a credit note and I put it towards a pair of Mephistos! Not a designer, fancy-shmancy store, but they have footwear for people who like to walk. This store - good place, no issues. The call centre - SUCKS.

I returned to SoftMoc with the hope of better service then a few nights earlier…read more I did manage to get a sales girl who was more willing to walk me through the paces this time, pun intended. She helped me find a pair of moccasins that would suit my indoor needs. But overall I was still disappointed. This was not what I came in for. So many shoes were not available in my size, not even for order. The moccasins were pretty but shedding profusely... Yes it's rabbit fur but wow. I would say most styles were drab and unoriginal. And worst of all, there were very few winter shoes. The sales staff admitted they mostly stick to fall shoes and the store has no plans to order more winter shoes in the foreseeable future. Not the dressy kind nor the buckle-down-and-get-home/safe variety. No need for winter shoes? In Canada? Interesting concept. I RECOMMEND- only going to SoftMoc for moccasins and uggs EXTRA TIP- signing up for their contact list will get you 10% on your next trip but prepare to be email bombed by the time you take your new shoes out of their box (and repeatedly thereafter).

I just have to have all the cutest shoes in the world!…read more This shoe store is tucked away inside the Y&E mall and I'm very pleased with this place. They have shoes for both men and women and they have a buy one pair and get the second for free deal. The store also has wallets, purses, jewellery, shoe products etc. I've bought plenty of shoes from them: sandals, flats, dressy shoes, boots, and pumps. Some of these shoes I've had for a few years now and they're still intact- something I did not expect for the low prices I paid. I really thought the shoes would fall apart at the end of each season, but I was wrong. I love how they always have my sizes, and the people working there are so helpful, kind and patient. I'm the worst customer to have in a shoe store since I try on many pairs and leave them all over the floor. At this store, they don't mind my experiments, which makes me so much more comfortable with my shoe shopping experience. Funny thing, I receive many shoe compliments when I wear something from this store, compared to the shoes that I wear from high-end brands. Overall, this is a great store if you want inexpensive shoes that look great.

So here's an update to my earlier review. The cheaper shoe (which came free with the expensive one)…read moreseems to be doing ok. The expensive shoe is a mystery. The tips below the heel cracked into two or just fell off by my second wear. I gave it to them to replace the tips. They returned the shoe in 3 days. When I wore it again, the very first day one of the tips cracked into two, and it went back to the store, where I had to argue with the girl at the store a little to repair it again. I'm quite reluctant to wear the shoe out in public again. There is a nail which sticks out at the bottom of the heel each time the tip breaks, and makes strange sounds when I walk.

Best bike shop in Toronto!…read more They have plenty of selection for mountain bikers, roadies, cross riders and pretty much any other biking discipline you can think of. They carry top of the line brands and will have an option for any size, price point or specialty request. The customer service their is marvellous. Everyone is super personable, understanding and willing to help you the second you walk in. They gave me a really good price on a new mountain bike (close to $500 off), gave me a great discount on clipped peddles and threw in almost $100 dollars worth of other accessories. All bikes come with a long warranty backed by a few of the best bike mechanics in the GTA (in my experience). Repair times depend on the mechanic you get but 95% of the time the repairs are super fast. I've never had a problem remerge or not be fully fixed after taking it there. They have everything a veteran rider, beginner cyclist or anyone in-between could ever want and more. They sell bikes (of course), biking attire (both loose MTB gear and aerodynamic lycra), any kind of bike part, bike maintenance things, turbo trainers and so much more. TLDR; Trust me and go to this store for any of your biking needs and you will not regret it!
