Great, quick take out Indian food that warms the soul! I knew the food was gonna be very good quality based on the fact that the place was basically a house. I ordered the chicken tikka masala with rice and garlic naan. The chicken tikka masala was bursting with flavor and I ordered medium spice and it was actually a solid medium spicy! My pet peeve is when places say it's a medium spice and it is still very mild. The pieces of chicken breast were very tender, and the naan was very garlicky and tasty. My only negative thing to say was that I wish the rice was a little softer. Other than that, this is a great Indian take out place! The flavor certainly hits the spot. read more

I left 5 stars because it wouldn't let me leave 6. If you want to go to some guys house and get the most amazing Indian food in the North East, then go here. Prices are extremely reasonable. I asked for spicy and it was nice and hot (I like hot). My wife got the mild (she doesn't like hot) and was quite satisfied. We got the vegetable samosa, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, saah paneer, mango lassi, and the honey bread ball things for dessert. Everything was amazing except the naan, which was just good. Total cost was about $40! I've been looking for a good Indian place in the area and have never been able to find one until I stumbled upon this place. And I am SO glad I did. We love this place. Good food at reasonable prices. We call to order ahead and pick up our food, typically 20-30 minutes later. Our go-to choices are Navratan Curry and Chicken Jalfrezi. We have seen some people eating at the picnic table near the pick up window, but we haven't tried this. read more

Spent a day exploring an area of VT I hadn't before, not realizing that everything would be closed on a Sunday, but luckily this spot was open. We went over and grabbed a menu and then called in our order from the car (they weren't doing indoor at the time) and enjoyed it while also in the car. For a place that doesn't look like much, the food is KILLER. We got chicken tikka masala and saag paneer and both were incredible. Complex flavors, enough spice without being too hot (my husband prefers it mild and other reviews had clued us in to how to get the spice right). The naan was fluffy but still had nice leoparding and was crisp on the outside. My only regret is that we hadn't grabbed food here and brought it with us to the brewery we visited because nothing (NOTHING) beats Indian food and beer. Takeout Indian place operated from owner's residence. Food tastes more like homemade Indian food which is great as am not a fan of overtly oily and spicy (mostly uncooked spices) dishes in any regular Indian restaurant. The menu is limited which probably ensures quality control. The parathas are great, but naans and kulchas should be avoided. The menu is a little pricey for a takeout place. Bottom line: Homemade Indian food which tastes homely, but is a little too pricey for a take out place. Don't get experimental on the menu and stick to the things you liked. read more

Recently started working in White River Junction, one evening after work on a whim decided to place an order. The food was ready when I got there. All I could smell was the delicious aroma coming out of the takeout bag while I was driving home. The good was delicious with the right amount of spice and fantastic flavors. Will definitely be getting dinner from here again. I ordered the chicken Vindaloo, I got lamb curry for my wife, also order chicken biryani with nan bread. Everything was delicious. Chicken Samosa came with three sauces that I would describe as 'sweet', 'mild' and 'hot'. Lamb curry (mild) was extremely tender and flavorful. Lamb Bhuna (spicy-hot) packed amazing amounts of flavor! (Although I might go for only 'spicy' next time... :-) ) Portions were huge! Rice was perfect and fluffy! Taj E India is a pretty average Indian restaurant. I've eaten here several times and ordered different items, mostly the chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, and garlic naan. As many others have mentioned, Taj E India is a take-out only restaurant with a bench outside. They are open until 8 pm everyday. One thing that is quite an annoyance is that they never include utensils with their food. For a take-out establishment, utensils should be standard. The food is consistently decent but not impressive. It satisfies a craving for Indian food but leaves you feeling a little bloated after. They use a lot of cream in the masala curry. Their curries aren't that spicy, so if you like it spicy definitely order it that way. They give you a very large portion of rice with the curry. The meat is usually tender and not too dry, but the actual curry is just average. The naan gets a little too cold by the time you eat it, but it tastes fresh. I would still eat at Taj E India again. They offer a 10% discount for Dartmouth student and staff. Overall, it's a standard Indian establishment. read more

Best Indian I've had in VT. I was getting my car fixed at the dealership across the street and the smell literally drew me there. The gentleman at the window was very nice and I got my meal within 15 mins of ordering. I ordered the lamb curry and it was fall apart tender, authentic flavors and spice level, didn't seem dumbed down for Americans. What a great little find! First, this is a take out only place - no place to sit. Second, this is someone's home ... or looks like it is ... so don't drive past it, look for the 'Open' sign in the window. I don't give 5 stars lightly. This place definitely deserves it. Seriously. The most robust, delicious, flavorful Indian food I have had in a while. It tastes homemade (expect I can't make anything that good). They are doing takeout only because of COVID and everything is packaged well so it arrives at our home fresh and warm. I have ordered there multiple times since we discovered that place, every time something different and every time it's delicious. One of my favorite Indian places I've ever been to. I've lived in Boston for years and had a lot of authentic Indian food, and this place rivals those in Boston. I absolutely love their vegetarian samosas; hands down my favorite thing on the menu. They're crispy and chock full of flavor. And, their chicken tikka masala comes in a close second. Once again, full of flavor, has bit of a kick (if you get it extra spi y like I do), and out of the many times I've ordered it, never any complaints. To be honest, I would eat this food every day if I could. I usually grab a garlic naan to dip in with the tikka masala sauce...literally perfection.
