Shush kabob- one chicken, one beef. The beef has lamb in it. Served with hummus, lettuce and garlic sauce.

We went to Taj Ali on a random Thursday night when we felt like Middle Eastern food and were on the south side of town. My husband and I both ordered the shish kabobs and shared a side order of falafel. The menu was sizable but the naan was not included with our shish kebab meal even though it came with hummus on the plate. The falafel was larger than any other I'd had and was crispy on the outside and more moist on the inside than I have usually experienced- my husband really liked it. He liked the beef-lamb kabobs and I liked the chicken kabobs. It was $42 for the both of us to eat at a fast food style strip mall restaurant. While we both agreed we would go back to Taj Ali, we won't be hurrying back.

Authentic and delicious. We tried a few things and liked it all. Will be back to try more!

Chicken Kabob plate! Wow! Extremely Flavorful!!

This little restaurant is easy to miss but as soon as you walk in, you smell the aroma of authentic cooking. From the very first flavorful bite you are sold.

Ordered the chicken and beef kabob meal togo. Food was nice and hot after a 15 min drive home and was a very generous portion. The rice was nice and fluffy and the chicken and beef kabobs were bursting with flavor. The garlic sauce was not overpowering and the hummus was nice and light with the olive oil on top. The other meals looked delicious, and I will definatly be trying some of the other items in the future.

Food was Extremely flavorful and juicy. The rice and hummus were delicious, the whole plate was delicious honestly. They have a very nice spice on their meats, every bite was amazing with how moist the chicken was. Definitely 10/5 stars. Clean place also, lots of drink selections too. Service was also very fast and polite, dined in and was out in no time. Went back and got Falafel to go as a snack for later.

#10 chicken tikka over rice. Addition of garlic sauce.

Food is a 10 on flavor, cooking, and it presents well. You could tell that care and quality went into preparation. Good value and should be voted as a Lincoln's best.

My husband went to college in Lincoln and he LOVES the Gourmet Grill…read more He has taken me a few times and I definitely see the charm in it, but I think it's a bit of nostalgia adding to the greatness for him. The interior is nothing to write home about, but you can always take your food to go and not eat inside. The last time we were there was in the middle of summer and the A/C was either broken or non-existent and there was water dripping from the ceiling. The only times we've been back to Lincoln and hitting Gourmet Grill also are during Husker football game days, and so the place is BUSY. The seating choices are pretty hard to come by on a normal day, so on game days, you'll be fighting for a place to sit - another reason to do grab-and-go. Their burgers are massive and taste like they've come off a grill that hasn't been cleaned in years, which gives it a real authentic taste (and I'm not joking, either, it's so good). And the Gyro Burger (the burger but with gyro meat added) is a good choice too. The fries are pretty good also, if you're a fan of crinkle fries (probably frozen, but that's fine, I'm sure every place has some item frozen on their menu). One of the best things on the menu, though is the Baklava! It comes wrapped in a plastic film, but it does seem to be homemade. Very flavorful and sweet with the nuttiness you're used to with baklava. Gourmet Grill has their bright spots and good things, so they are definitely worth a stop to check out if you're in Lincoln, to see if you like it!

What a find this was!!!! Coming out of the ir sauna (see previous review), we were STARVED!!…read moreFalafel was on our minds and Omaha Kebabs was our destination. PERFECT place to replenish!! We started with the appetizer sampler and it was amazing! It has everything you want and things you didn't know you needed! The hummus and tabbouleh are wonderful but the stars of the plate are the pita and the beet salad for me. The beets are in a creamy dressing and just so craveable. The hummus is nice and smooth, the tabbouleh has so much herb and is so fresh. I only wished for a bit more lemon. The baba ganoush was really good but was a bit over smoky so a little bit at a time was good. The cucumber dip was amazing as well. We then proceeded to the main event - salads, fries, and falafel. Caesar (entree size only) and side dinner salad with a sherry vinaigrette were nice but nothing special. Then the French fries and falafels... fresh and hot!!! Crispy! Fluffy!! And when we broke into the falafels, we were so excited to see GREEN!!! They had HERBS inside!! And the tahini sauce on the side was so delicious. I want that for my salad dressing AND dipping sauce for the fries (although the cucumber dip is amazing on them too!) so much food for two girls so many boxes were needed. It was closing time therefore dessert was togo- baklava. Large triangle. Very delicious. We sat at the bar and I believe we were served by the Lady of the House (Owner). She was incredibly welcoming and we had a joyful conversation about kids and good foods. Oh... did I mention they offer Armenian wine? Yup. Red was my choice and although it was a little sweet, it went well with all the flavors of our meal. Maybe next time I'll try the white....
