I couldn't leave him in the house alone while at work because he would (literally) make himself sick with worry. Connie welcomed us as new clients and, as she is a generous, wonderful person, we became fast friends. She has steadily been there for me and my Hubie over the years. Weekdays, weekends, overnights, in a pinch at times with little notice... sending me cute pictures throughout the day of my boy, feeding him, giving him medicine when needed, taking him to the groomer, going on little walking adventures, giving him a little brush 'n fluff from time to time... I even moved back east and she still couldn't get rid of me! When I come back to Olympia periodically for my current job, I bring Hubie simply because I know he misses her. Connie has enriched both our lives and I'm so happy to call her a dear friend.

Definitely recommend!

I have two young Siamese cats that have not had the option to be very social (they are scared of people other than me and my husband). Deanna took the time to come over twice to meet and interact with them before taking care of them while we were gone. These extra visits, at no charge, ensured that she and our boys were comfortable with each other enabling Deanna to care for them while we were gone. She did not want to accept the job without ensuring that our pets would be comfortable, happy and safe! While gone we received daily pictures and updates as to how the boys were doing. This helped us to not miss our "kids" so much. Deanna came daily and checked the house to make sure the boys were not getting into things that they shouldn't and that nothing was wrong in the house. It was a huge relief to have someone taking care of them and keeping an eye on the place. She also took the garbage out on garbage day and vacuumed up the litter around the boys' boxes! Deanna provides such an outstanding service; you can tell that she truly loves pets and her job. The value for having Deanna come to your home to care for your pets in their own environment is invaluable. Her fees are much better than boarding fees in the Oly/Lacey area and as I said your pet gets to stay in its own home! What could be better than that?!?! The only down side is that I think my boys miss her more than they missed me! :-) Honestly, if I could give her more than 5 stars I would.

She did an awesome job caring for them, and when I came home a day earlier than anticipated, their cage and the surrounding area were clean, and they had plenty of hay, pellets, and water even though she had not come by yet that day. Her rates are very reasonable, too! I highly recommend her no matter what kind of pet you need taken care of while you're away from home.

I was a long-time customer of Friendly Grove and trusted them with my dogs for years…read more Unfortunately, that trust was broken after a grooming appointment where one of my doodles came back unable to walk. My husband had to physically carry him out of the vehicle. When I contacted the business, I spoke with Maddy at the front desk, who reassured me that my dog had not sustained an injury while in their care. However, I was not present and was never shown any video footage or documentation to support that claim, which left me with serious concerns about what actually happened. Months later, I received a brief email asking me to update my information in their portal. I responded honestly and shared how unsettled I still felt about the previous incident. Shortly after, a staff member called and said they would be happy to schedule grooming appointments for my dogs since they hadn't been in for a while. However, when I arrived to pick them up, I was told that my dogs were not actually scheduled for grooming but that they "accommodated them anyway." I was then informed that Friendly Grove would no longer be grooming dogs at all. The entire interaction felt incredibly confusing and dismissive, and it came across as though they were simply trying to push us out as customers. They offered a $120 credit for that service and essentially told us to find another groomer. My dogs had been going there for years, and $120 doesn't even cover the cost of a single grooming service. After years of loyalty, the lack of transparency, accountability, and communication was extremely disappointing. I expected far better treatment from a place we trusted with our pets for so long.

I have not been disappointed at all. Friendly Grove is very clean, the staff have always been nice to work with, and Tilly comes home tired when she has a day of play. We were told he was very sick. Possibly kidney failure. In order to find out for sure we would need to have testing done which was very costly. I asked if we decided to have the testing done could he be cured and she said no. So I asked if it would be cruel to bring him home with meds to keep him comfortable until we decided what to do. She said that would be fine. My brother had just passed away and I was overwhelmed. Once we were home with his meds he seemed to be doing okay. We brought him to the lake to wade. He seemed to enjoy it. Things seemed to not change so I called to see if we could get a refill of his pain meds. I went and picked them up. That evening, I went to give him his medication from the ones I picked up that day. That's when I discovered they were for another dog. It was Apoquel for itch. I didn't discover it until that evening, and it was too late to have it corrected. He cried all night without his medication. It was horrible. We brought him in early the next day and had him put to sleep. They took him away and said they would bring him back as soon as they got the iv in. They said nothing about giving him any medications. They put us in a room and shortly after they brought him in on a gurney. He was passed out from the medication, and we never had an opportunity to say our goodbyes. All we got was a quick sorry from the lady behind the desk. When I told the vet how upset I was about the medication mix-up, she said your dog is very sick. Probably kidney failure. Not, I'm sorry Takodah suffered. When we got his ashes and foot impressions back it had the wrong name. So now engraved on his ash box is the wrong name. We were told he was very sick. All we wanted was medication for a few more days to keep him comfortable, so we give him love and spend time together. It was such a horrible way let our dog go. I will forever remember my dog crying out in pain. This should have never happened! I do not advise you to use this animal hospital.
