He offered numerous different fabric, color, and fit options that suited what I had envisioned, and the result came out stunning. The thing that was unique to Mr. Kim's offering was that instead of buying a tuxedo I might wear just for one occasion, he was able to temporarily sew a layer of satin on top of my suit jacket lapels and take it off after my wedding. Finally, I took it in, tried it on and explained the issue. They explained that it would be $65 to alter and confirmed that's what I wanted since the cost of the shirt was so low. I confirmed and the work was done so quickly and expertly- the results absolutely blew my mind! I next took two pair of pants which needed the waists taken in and they were so perfectly done. And fast! So fast that when I went to pick up I had to double check that I had remembered the conversation correctly the first time.. thought I was losing it! The younger guy who works here is incredibly rude, overcharges, and everything is just as I left it. He personally got offended when I noticed things weren't done right. He literally started taking my clothes off the hangers and tossing them. Like he intentionally wanted to dirty them to get his monies worth. It was close to closing time and I didn't feel safe around a clearly unhinged man. I quickly picked up my things and left before he did something crazy. I'm think this is a family run business and the older folks are phasing out with the younger guy taking over. As a woman I'd be careful coming here. Had to give them a call just to make sure but once I was inside, it was an amazing experience with tons of vintage denim to browse. Shoutout to the amazing employees who were warm and answered all the questions I had. Originally was told it was going to take 2 weeks but the turn around was 4 days which was a nice surprise. In addition, I got another 10 buttons and rivet pack for my own use for only about $10. For any small or beginner designer, I would not recommend the price point that I was quoted for hardware installation ($10 per rivet installed and 40$ for a button and buttonhole to be installed). I am not speaking to the quality of their work as I do not know it or have any experience with it, simply sharing my opinion. Get a hammer and do it at home, or take it to the fashion district for the button and buttonhole.
