My two senior dogs weren't just put in a run. They were walked three times a day, and were kept in a quieter area. The staff followed directions on giving the prescribed medications of my dogs. I liked that I could bring their dog beds to help keep them comfortable. The boarding kennel is open seven days a week and there is on-site security. One star because zero stars is unavailable. We boarded our dog at this place and requested a specific service, which they failed to provide, but scheduled our dog for activities we did not request. When we picked up our dog, he was injured and bleeding from three out of four paws. The staff was apathetic and refused to provide an email to contact the owner. Additionally, we requested an additional morning meal on the day of pick up, and no one could definitively tell us if the meal was provided. Our dog was there for seven days and we have no idea how long he was bleeding, but the wounds were still bleeding inside of our car. If you love your pet, keep them away from the incompetent, completely inept staff at this facility, or your pet might receive an injury it can't walk away from. read more

I called to check on my dog and they said to me "they were meaning to call me" and told me that our dog was licking himself. They assured us they are watching out for it. When we got our puppy back, they wrapped his leg up so tight, it severed his skin and left a gash that was filled with dried blood and hair. My vet had to put him to sleep to get it cleaned out and proceeded to call this place and tell them how unacceptable this was. We have been trying to get a hold of them for weeks and when I threatened legal action, we got a call back and they said they were not taking responsibility for anything. The dogs stay in cages ALL day unless you add enhancements for an extra cost. PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR PUPPY HERE. Go to a place that will care for them and not neglect them!!! read more

But ya know, it wasn't home in a cage while his parents were working. Both of our dogs were very backed up when we got them eventhough we paid additional for "daily walks". We picked them up at 11:30 and they told us they'd had their walk already. Our female did two very large poops immediately upon taking her out and our male peed for 2 min without stopping. This was all before they got into the car. We left this kennel with a tandem leash because these two (seniors) always walk together. They specifically did NOT walk them together and conveniently charged double at $9 per dog per walk. So this place is very alacarty... you pay $28 per dog (they offer a whole $2.50 discount if your dogs share one kennel!) but after 5 days it's actually $350 because the $28 means your dog gets NOTHING. A pill is $5 extra.. This is how they get you. They seemed friendly enough as people, and even sent pictures after I asked for them. But this place is way overpriced and I don't appreciate the al a cart trickiness. Never again! read more

I've been coming here for the last three years. I pretty much have made up my mind about them. First off, they are just west of Dundee by about a mile. If your coming from Dundee, skip to the next paragraph. If your coming from the west, prepare for asshattery. Your on the 99, making a left hand turn into their driveway. Expect to use your turn signal and brake WELL in advance. It's likely depending on the time of day that you will have multiple cars behind you and angry at having to slow down from their 65 mph mad race to get to the next winery. The boarding overnight flat fee of $26 pretty much a gold standard. Of course if you want the activities, you will be paying more. I ignore the fact that they charge for a "play yard" with other dogs. They have to clean out those pens sometime, why not put all the dogs in inside one fence, clean their poo, tire the dogs out, and charge their owners??!?! Well played. Since I always get that option, I pay $32 a night. That's fine. The other activities offered do not interest me or my dog. For those who own small dogs, I suppose the snack and snuggle would be great. For those looking to get the Nature Walk, I was told it's only a quarter mile walk. Great again for small species I suppose. My Iditarod running husky wouldn't even break a sweat, so I can't justify paying the extra $7 in that area. Otherwise it would cost me $84 to have them walk what he's used to everyday. He gets his rec time on the "play yard." May God have mercy on whatever other dogs are around. Back to the point, they offer a huge variety of options, hell, they'll even pick up your dog and deliver him for a fee. Depending on your dogs needs, they can accommodate him or her to make the boarding experience a pleasant one. My dog thinks he's in Disneyland. The staff are always friendly, and the 7:00 am - 7:00 pm hours are awesome. The facility is pretty snazzy. When you check in they will have a "WELCOME (INSERT DOGS NAME HERE)" greeting written in rainbow colors. They also do grooming. I used the service one time, and had no complaints. BE ADVISED: There is a activity for cats call MOUSE HUNT. This does NOT involve real mice. I think that's bullsh*t personally. They will of course require your mutt to be up to date on all shots, including bordetella vaccinations. There are closer kennels to me, but I keep coming back here. Check out their website, it will give you an honest feel for them if your not sure. I'd recommend them to anyone though. I can't speak for the cat boarding service. My cat has an entire house already. When I leave for a weekend, I fill up three bowls of cat food / water, lay out his favorite mouse toy, get him fresh litter, pet him, and tell him if anything bad happens, I'll be back Monday morning. This is the 5 or 6th time we have paid for grooming services and have not gotten her nails trimmed. I overheard the grooming girl telling two different pet owners that she couldn't get their dog nails either. Seems like if you charge for a service and you repeatedly can not deliver you should do your customers a favor and offer to refund their service charges. We paid for a bath and our dog came back smelling worse than when we dropped her off 4 days ago. The staff leave the dog food bags inside the kennels and we get the food back in chewed up bags. Today her chewed bags were given beck in a trash bag. No manager on site for 4 days to speak on the matter. Not sure how often the owner checks in on their facility but the girls running the place are not delivering professional service and are not being accountable to the charges we pay. Unacceptable behavior. We will not be bringing our dog back to this facility. For the prices we pay you would think we could get someone on the phone to explain why we were charged for services not provided. Advertise first class service while delivering sub par service at best. read more

The thing that makes this company stand out is how the caretakers really get to know the animals that stay with them. When we picked up our dog, we asked about a temperament report. We figured we would get notes from handlers throughout the day as they came into individual contact with our dog. What we received was a verbal report from memory on both the positive and the negative things our pet had done, and how she had interacted with each person who she came into contact with, all spur if the moment and from memory! This showed us that they had really paid individualized attention to our pet. Our dog is a rescue pet so we know she has quirks, it was good to hear that her caretakers recognized this and truly got to know her. On another note... Turning into their sight can be a bit dangerous based on traffic. 99w through Dundee has more traffic in a day than I5 does between Salem and Eugene in a day, so be careful! Once you turn on to the property, though, head way back off the highway and your pet's vacation home is a very quiet spot. Our dog was greeted with it's name brightly written on the welcome board. We were checked in by welcoming staff who took down our dogs feeding schedule and place her food and toys in her own special bin. We were allowed to walk our dog back to her kennel and put her blanket down for her and make sure she had her toys before we left. We opted for the romp and play package and had her groomed When we picked her up, she was one happy dog. We have been recommending this place to friends for years, but used them for the first time ourselves this year since we usually leave our pets with family. (We also previously had a very negative experience and traumatized dogs boarding with a vet's office which kept us from wanting to board.) read more

I have been taking Riggins to Tail Wag Inn, on and off for quite a few months. The on and off part is only due to their location. I live in McMinnville and work in Salem (bummer). There are however those times where we have to go to Portland for the day or we are going to be out of town for a period of time. When those instances arise, Riggins always goes to Tail Wag Inn. Like other reviewers have said, Riggins is personally welcomed with his name on the board. I like how the front office asks that you keep your dog in your car until you are checked in and they give you the "go ahead" to bring your dog in. Just makes for a more calm overall experience when you don't have to worry about any surprises. Riggins can be a bit "snarky" when it comes to other dogs (he's insecure) and I like how the employees will care for your dog based on temperament and personality. This is a huge plus in my book. Riggins is always happy & healthy when I pick him up (oh yeah, and very tired). They are also very accommodating with respect to last minute appointments. Sometimes it just can't be helped. They are also very quick to respond to emails, and the online registration is AWESOME SAUCE. Yes, getting into and out of the driveway can be a bit daunting, but hey, we will do anything for our dogs, right?! read more

I just picked up my small breed dog after her first visit here. After explaining that she "lost a little hair on her back," the attendant brought her out and I almost burst into tears. Her back is clawed, bitten, and flaming red from nape to tail with substantial hair loss. They made her share her kennel with another dog without my permission and still charged me full price. They said they "played nice" together, but my poor puppy mill rescue doesn't play, she tries to avoid other dogs. I will never take Miss Macee here again. read more

The facility is okay, great hours & friendly staff. However, I boarded my dog a couple weeks ago, for a weekend, and when I picked her up they told me kennel cough had been going around.. It would have been nice to know this when I dropped my dog off. If I had known this I would have found a different option rather than boarding her.. and maybe that is why they did not tell me when I dropped her off. This must be a common issue at this place because when asking around about places to board my dog, a few different people had told me their dog got kennel cough after staying here. Of course, this is always a risk you take when boarding you dogs, but knowing BEFORE I dropped my dog off for the weekend would have been ideal. read more

I posted my review and someone has found a way to remove it. Probably because it was not a good review of this business. This kennel facilty did a lousey job with my dog last autumn - I brought in a healthy dog and picked up a dog so dehydrated I had to have him on IV fluids for two days. When I tried to get answers from the Office Manager and the Kennel Owner, both completely ignored me and would not answer my phone calls or written letter - although they are more than happy to charge full rates. If you have a pet with needs, this is NOT the kennel to use. Their behavior towards my dog's situation after the fact is as bad as them not taking care of him in the first place. NEVER will I use this kennel again, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone else ... shame, because the look of the place is nice, just not the care nor follow up afterwards. read more
