My first 90-minute deep tissue was worth every penny and minute. Richie is clearly a master. I tend…read moreto be pretty hesitant of deep tissue given existing sports injuries (back, knee, shoulder), but Richie takes all of that into account and tailored everything to me on the spot. If you feel a knot or a painful spot, he knows it and adapts -- always checks in on you. Today was the first day I woke up without back pain in several months. I've tried PT, chiro, rest, ice/heat, rolling -- all helpful, but incremental gains. This was definitely an unlock for me, and I'll be going back soon! -Jake

Stop spending $90+ on fluffy spa massages, and give this guy a call. Seriously…read more Mike Dawid continues to impress me. He has transitioned out of his office in Mill Valley, and now does mostly house calls in San Francisco. He works on a lot of people that do yoga, dance or otherwise bend their bodies into strange positions. A lot of his clients are also very active outdoors - hiking, cycling, rock climbing, and so on. I think he enjoys the challenge of working with active people, helping create harmony in their body so that they can continue being active and healthy. I have had trouble with my knee and hip for years (car accident) and his skillful hands have offered me the first real hope for healing the injuries. I use to get regular headaches - due to botched chiropractic sessions - and after a couple of sessions with Mike, headaches have become rare. Mike shows up at your door with everything he needs to provide a stellar healing session: table, sheets, music, and a deliciously warm heating pad for the table. All you need is space to set up the table.

On several occasions (my back, my shoulder, my knee) I've gone to him because I've hurt something and he's spent a great deal of time working on it resulting in substantial, sometimes almost complete, improvement. He's also tall and strong and has huge hands and is strong enough to massage me the way I like, and gentle and knowledgeable enough to back off when necessary and take a more oblique approach to get the desired result. I believe he also has a sports massage background amoung his studies and often does some active stretching towards the end of my massages with him which really helps. It's a small thing, but I've never encountered it with anyone else. A+ He does house calls too, which is rather convenient. I've had massages both at his place and at mine, and honestly I kinda prefer to be in his set up but it's nice to just have him come over. Oh, and he's also relatively reasonable on price. Massages in this city can get quite expensive. Of course, good as he is you may want to become a client before he gets so popular he starts raising his prices for new people.

I've worked with more than a dozen massage therapists over the years, and none come close to Nenad. His work has an immediate impact on my stride and overall fluidity, and he's been instrumental in reducing my chronic inflammation and tendinitis. Nenad is very strong, highly skilled, and thoughtful in his approach. He doesn't just treat whatever hurts that day--he puts together a targeted treatment plan that supports my training cycle and has me feeling my best going into races. If you're an athlete looking for someone who truly understands the body and how to keep it performing at its peak, I can't recommend Nenad enough.

Nenad is an incredible massage therapist. I have very tight muscle fibers and it really takes a lot…read moreof pressure to loosen up and get the muscles to release. Nenad can do with his fingers what most massage therapists can only accomplish with their elbows with all their weight behind it. He said he can also go soft and do prenatal massage too so don't let this review turn you away if you prefer a different style. Nenad is a big believer in loosening the muscles around the area that where the pain is located so the tight muscle has a chance to relax without the surrounding muscles pulling on it. He uses trigger points to help loosen muscles too which is crazy. For example, he will dig into the TFL muscle (side of the hip) while massaging my trap muscles (top of shoulders) and it really makes a difference. He is a registered nurse as well which I think helps him understand the anatomy of the body better than just a basic massage therapist. Lastly, Nenad is so fun to talk to. He lives a very full life and is always up to something interesting. He is genuinely curious about how you are doing, what you are up to and what you do for a living. He likes to help his clients network if they are interested and if he hears something as you describe your pain symptoms that he thinks might help he has a list of professionals around the city who can help. Nenad is a true diamond in the rough and I am so happy I was referred to him.

I started seeing Toni, and I don't think I knew what a good massage was until him. Seriously…read more Compared to getting a nice massage and the therapist doing their routine, I could tell that Toni pays attention to your particular situation- he focuses where he notices your problem areas are. I didn't even know my hips were tight until he pointed it out and spent a little extra time working on them. I didn't know that stretching my legs could help my lower back pain. He actually asked me about my routines and just seemed so intuitive. Some people just have that quality about them like he does. I don't think you can teach that. I noticed he is also a certified yoga instructor and he's an athlete, so clearly he's into wellness. There is no autopilot with him. No "fluff and buff." Many therapists can give you a relaxing massage, but Toni ensures your body is better than what you came in with, lol. He also has really nice ad-ons. I highly recommend cupping. Go ahead and level-up, my friends. You're worth it, and so is Toni. I won't see anyone else now. His space is also super nice, clean, and professional. I love that he shares an office with a chiropractor, so I can get an adjustment if I ever need one right at the same address.

After 2 painful days I found Gary through Yelp as I saw he did Sports massage. I met Gary at his space (inside Body Mechanix) on Folsom and he got right to work. After just a few minutes he diagnosed that it was actually my Pec muscle that was injured which was putting major strain on my neck. Not gonna lie it was a bit painful when he worked through the tightness in and around my shoulder blade and pec but it needed to be done. After the hour was up I was 90% better and had full range back in my neck and my headache was completely gone. I was floored that I was virtually pain free especially after walking in looking like a zombie. I will definitely see Gary again and thank him so much for helping me get back to my life...

Best deep tissue massage, without question!…read more I originally had a massage from Jonathan at the St. Regis Spa. It was a splurge - the treatment was amazing, but access to their gorgeous spa made the experience more than $300. During Covid, the hotel and spa closed for renovations. I found Jonathan doing massages independently and I am OBSESSED! I am a former dancer with scoliosis and I use massages for pain management and maintenance. Also, I am either at the gym regularly or on a plane cross country/in the office long hours so there's always something going on, physically. I try to see Jonathan at least once a month. He understands musculature and resets my body every time! So grateful.
