When we hired Ashley, I was open to either unmedicated birth or an epidural- I had no preference and she was totally game for either. After I had been in labor for quite some time, I decided to proceed with the epidural; a decision Ashley knew was completely supportive of and helped me through. In that moment, I was slightly worried we had invested in a doula who would now be of less service to us, since I would be having a medicated birth... I could not have been more wrong! I am 100% certain I would have ended up having an emergency c-section if she hadn't been present to advocate for us. She noticed things our nurses didn't catch (who knew you could have a bad bag of Pitocin??), she kept me comfortable through lots of back labor, and she acted as a confident guide through a long labor. She was the calm in the storm for both me and my husband, and we are so thankful we had her with us when our daughter surprised us with a sunny-side up arrival. In addition to her invaluable labor services, she noticed an impending medical issue during her postpartum visit we had overlooked. She helped us be more prepared for what was to come, which allowed us to seek the appropriate medical care in a timely manner. We will forever be thankful for Ashley's presence in our lives, and we can't wait to utilize her services again in the future when we try for baby #2!

I was fortunate enough to have Marissa and my birth doula in 2021. I was able to attend her pre-natal yoga sessions and motherhood gatherings via Zoom - it was great to connect with other mothers during this time. Our pre-labor one-on-one sessions were gentle and informative. Both my partner and I felt well supported. During my labor is when Marissa really shined. I had a homebirth planned with two midwives. As soon as she arrived at my house she jumped in Doula mode. She made suggestions on more comfortable birthing positions, provided me with words of encouragement and guided my husband on supporting me. I ended up needing to go to the hospital and Marissa came along and supported me through the emergency room and into L&D. She worked well with the L&D staff.  My son ended up being transferred to a NICU at another hospital - and Marissa stayed with me until one of my friends could get there. I cannot express to you how much this meant to me. While in the hospital, the doctors and nurses were focused on delivering my son safely. Marissa advocated for me and made sure I was also well taken care of. After I returned home, Marissa visited us to offer support, guidance, tea and whatever else we needed. Months later, she regularly checks in, offers her support, and coordinates meet-ups with other moms, doula clients or not, in the area. I am so thankful for Marissa.

To think some people go through the birthing process without the support of a quality doula is mind boggling to me. Future dads and non-birthing partners - at first I thought the doula was more to support the woman giving birth... which for pregnancy and birth prep is true, but also, depending on circumstances (with baby mama will be in birthing-la-la-land) you'll end up working pretty closely with the doula making sure the birth goes according to plan. Do yourself a favor and hire Danielle. Its worth way more that the monetary cost. Doctors are there to crank out as many births as possible, not to follow the plan you and your partner have laid out. Her experience as both a nurse and a doula is amazing, but what stood out to me most was her genuine passion for all things birth-related. Her positive, reassuring energy is just an added bonus. Before the birth, we had a few sessions where Jen educated my husband and me about the birth process, what to expect, and the different decisions we might face during labor and delivery. Having her knowledge and guidance helped me feel so much more relaxed and confident throughout my pregnancy. Instead of obsessively researching every possible scenario that could go wrong, I felt like I had someone I trusted who could help me navigate whatever came up. When I went into labor, my husband and I were able to rely on Jen for guidance and support all the way through delivery and even afterward. I ended up having an incredible birth experience, and I truly attribute so much of that to having Jen as part of my support system. I was able to give birth in a position that felt comfortable and natural to me, had no tearing(!!!), and had a quick and smooth delivery. I would absolutely recommend Jen to anyone looking for a doula, and I honestly can't imagine giving birth again without her if I can help it! We are so grateful for everything she did for our family and feel extra special that our baby got to be her 350th birth. Thank you so much, Jen!!

As a doula, she is extremely capable, professional, and supportive. When I first connected with Shalin via videochat for a consultation, she instantly made me feel comfortable. I decided to go with Shalin based on how experienced and knowledgeable she seemed, as well as how comprehensive her doula services package was. Over the course of my pregnancy, Shalin visited my house several times to educate my husband and me about the birthing process, evidence-based approaches to birth, and different ways to prepare my body for birth, and to go over my birth plan. The whole process made me feel really prepared for the birth and gave me a greater understanding of what I wanted for the birth. I also appreciated that I got to know Shalin more during the pregnancy so that she didn't feel like a stranger at all. In fact, she is so warm and friendly that she felt more like a friend! She didn't push any particular views on me but wanted me to feel supported in my birth preferences.  When I went into early labor, Shalin was very responsive and kept checking in on me to see how labor was progressing, and when we decided to go to the hospital, she was super quick to meet us there. She was prepared in every way and set up lights and candles for the room. The hospital room was a vibe and very peaceful! Since I gave birth in a hospital setting, it was also important to me to have someone who could help advocate for me. When my hospital care team asked me to do certain things, Shalin checked in with me to see if I wanted to proceed with what they were asking. During the labor, she suggested different laboring positions and did counterpressure and other comfort measures, which helped me tremendously in coping with the pain. With Shalin's help and support, all my birth preferences were met! I had such a positive, empowering labor - something I never would have thought possible after my first delivery experience (without a doula).  I loved having Shalin as my doula and I highly recommend her! I can't stress enough how having her as my doula made such a difference to my second delivery experience. I am so happy with how everything went and really couldn't have done it without Shalin!

Our friends recommended RRDS after having used them for their two kids two separate times. Our experience was fantastic. Originally, we had only planned to use them for 6-8 weeks postpartum, but we ended up using them for about 4 months. Our initial doulas were Tracy and Stephenie, and we absolutely loved their help, expertise, and kindness. They helped me immensely during my c-section recovery, taught us so much about newborns, and ended up being such a great resource throughout our entire time with them. As time went on, Tracy and Stephenie stepped back a bit due to other commitments to new families, and we were introduced to several other doulas for the remainder of our relationship with RRDS. Everyone was great and communicative, and we really felt like we were in good hands with each of them. There were a few hiccups along the way, but Rebecca and the doulas handled it all with grace and understanding. We have already talked about using RRDS again with our next baby.
