All I can say is - I don't know why anyone goes to a hospital!! Before baby arrival - Amanda made me feel like a human being, not a baby production factory. I never had to deal with an underpaid front desk staff - I always had direct contact with her. She took time for all my questions, never made me do extra, or coerced me to do something. When I was late or needed to reschedule there was never a late or cancelation fee, just understanding that I was a busy person. During and after delivery- I made all the choices, I was allowed to follow the flow of my body, and Amanda just gave me confidence I needed. She of course had all of the expertise to keep me safe, but she never made me feel belittled or like I couldn't do it - which was the experience I had during my hospital delivery. So all in all - she helped me have the perfect delivery experience! I felt empowered by what my body could do, in the comfort of my own home, and had a healthy baby.

My 6 day old son had a rough start with breastfeeding, not latching well. Lots of tears were being shed by not only my frustrated son but by me as well. Within minutes of sending her a desperate text, she responded with kindness and concern. Needless to say, last night was the first night since bringing him home from the hospital that we had not one but TWO successful feedings, and have kept the momentum up ever since! Krystal checked in with me today to see how I was doing and to answer any other questions I had. Thank you so much Krystal! Not only did you help calm my nerves and make me feel so much better, you helped my son and I achieve successful nursing. You are the best!

My husband and I are new residents to California and I am currently pregnant with our first child. We have no family in the area. I had a phone consult scheduled with the owner, Ms. Michele, on January 5th, 2026. She called me on time and we both mutually agreed to move forward with the on-boarding process for doula services for my pregnancy. She requested that I call my insurance company and gather the information for her in an email. I did this, and sent her an email the following night, on January 6th. I didn't hear anything from her, so I sent a text message to both her work and personal cell phone number on January 9th. No response. At this point, I am 37 weeks, and anxious to move things along for doula services. The weekend and Monday goes by, and I still have not received a reply. I decide, as a last attempt, to call her. I called both her work and personal cell phone and left a voicemail on each line on Tuesday, January 13th. Nothing. Shame on the owner, Ms. Michele, for stating that she will move the process forward and said she will have a doula for me for my birth. She lied. She disclosed to me during our consult that she is a mother herself and had over twenty years of experience working as a L&D nurse. This provided me great relief and happiness, only for it to be crushed when she never replied to my messages. How can someone with this sort of background make a promise and then not follow through? Ms. Michele should be ashamed of herself not only on a professional level, but also on a personal level. This seems to be a wider issue with the Doula profession as I was ghosted by another local Sacramento doula company as well as the Volunteer Doula Coordinator at Mercy Hospital of Folsom. I believe doulas are a valuable asset to a woman's birth experience, however, I will not be wasting my time anymore trying to arrange one for my pregnancy.

Our first went okay but wasn't enjoyable by any stretch and fell short in many ways. Specifically knowing and fully understanding all options and their implications. This time I just really wanted someone knowledgeable and experienced who was completely our advocate. Murial came highly recommended by another trusted healthcare provider. Murial has been amazing. She listened and taught us how to be better at getting the care we wanted. My husband felt totally supported and relieved of the burden of going it alone as my only support. That was HUGE! She was available every step of the way - and thankfully, due to an unexpected change of doctors - was our security and constant in a whirlwind of change right before the birth of our son. She is a birth/sibling/post-partum doula, and she was a gift to us in all those capacities. Our primary arrangement with her was as a sibling doula for our 3yo son during the birth of our second child. She and our son already had a relationship before the birth because she nannied very part time for us for a while (before she made the switch to doula work), and our arrangement with her was for her to come to the house once my labor had started, and then she and our son could go "have a little adventure" while the baby was being born. Murial is, in my opinion, a priceless combination of calm and bright energy. Her presence is soothing - for a few hours before our son woke up, she was able to act as a birth doula for me, and I still think about her gentle foot...holding?? (I mean, wtf was she doing?! I don't know, but it was amazing.). But she also has this bright energy that both kids and adults are super attracted to - creative, fun, silly, respectful, empathetic, intuitive - all the things I wanted in the person who was going to be with my son during such a pivotal and vulnerable moment in his life (the birth of a sibling). He had a fun time on his adventure with Murial, and then she stayed for a few hours after they returned - she made sure I was fed and my needs were met, made me a placenta smoothie and prepped and froze more placenta, and continued to help with our son. In the months after the baby was born, we continued to have Murial come a few times a week in the capacity of post-partum doula. Her help and presence were critical to my mental and emotional health at that time - the baby was colicky and a poor sleeper and finicky nurser, our son was regressing in many areas, and my husband's back went out(!) and then he went back to work. But when Murial was in our house, everything seemed to be okay. One other nice thing about Murial is that she is a certified counselor. So she is basically a professional listener/empathizer/guidance giver. :)

I had planned to have a typical doctor-led birth at a hospital with an epidural and Chloe walked me and my husband through what to expect at the hospital and I felt a lot of comfort knowing that I'd have her as an advocate to be sure I wasn't pressured into doing anything that I didn't want to do by hospital staff. Knowing that Chloe also works at Midtown Nurse Midwives, my husband and I asked her what our birth plan experience might look like should we choose that route and we instantly knew that the birth center birth was what we wanted. Now, you might be thinking, if the birth center has doulas, why would I need to hire one? Yes, you need to hire a doula! Chloe came to my house and supported me and my husband through early labor, which I feel like was the worst part for me! She did what she could to keep me comfortable, keep me hydrated, but most importantly - to help my labor progress. My labor lasted about 35 hours in total and when she wasn't with me, she was on the phone coaching my husband on what to do. In the end, I wound up getting the unmedicated birth that I wanted and know there is no way I would have gotten through it without Chloe. She is truly amazing! Chloe also checked in on my new little family a day or so after my babe was born and brought us the most delicious lentil dal, which lasted us several meals. And she dehydrated and encapsulated my placenta, which was very convenient with her attending my birth, she was able to take it straight from the birth center and then deliver with my postpartum visit. I think of her dearly when I reflect on my birth experience, she helped bring our daughter into this world and that is so special to share with someone. If we ever decide to have another babe, I will most definitely hire Chloe again, she is truly amazing! From the bottom of my heart, thank you Chloe, we love you!!!

She is a dream come true for our family. I trust her wholeheartedly and during labor she offered her entire heart, energy, and soul to me and my family, and for that we are eternally grateful. Upon meeting Chloe, it was clear to us that we had found our doula - she's thoughtful, calm, knowledgeable, and listens carefully. When we met with her before our son's birth, she took the words out of my mouth which gave me peace of mind and built my trust in her incredibly quickly. This is so valuable because birth is such a sacred and vulnerable space. She was available for questions throughout my labor and her IG is full of positive, empowering and helpful information. Fast forward to labor. I went into early labor on a Thursday afternoon and gave birth early on a Friday morning. Very late on Thursday evening, we called Chloe and asked her to come to our home because I began to question my own abilities. She arrived promptly and immediately helped put my partner and me at ease so I could continue to labor at home and progressed to 9cm upon arrival at the hospital. She worked so well with my partner. She provided ongoing comfort measures, reassuring affirmations, and helpful suggestions to keep my confidence up and keep labor progressing at home. This allowed my partner to be my cheerleader which is exactly what I needed him to be as my number one supporter. Throughout the process Chloe amplified my wishes and needs allowing me to have the most empowering birth I could have wished for. I truly believe that Chloe was the difference between a repeat C-section and a VBAC for me. She was determined to help baby and me into positions that allowed gravity to help since my first labor was deemed "failure to progress" after 3 days of labor and 10cm dilated. Her suggestions not only helped this labor progress quickly but made me feel in charge of this birth. I still chat with Chloe during this postpartum period to ask questions and because she's just that awesome. Related, if you are interested in placenta encapsulation, I also highly recommend her for that. Thank you, Chloe, for all that you did for me and my family. I know any family is in excellent hands with you

When we hired Ashley, I was open to either unmedicated birth or an epidural- I had no preference and she was totally game for either. After I had been in labor for quite some time, I decided to proceed with the epidural; a decision Ashley knew was completely supportive of and helped me through. In that moment, I was slightly worried we had invested in a doula who would now be of less service to us, since I would be having a medicated birth... I could not have been more wrong! I am 100% certain I would have ended up having an emergency c-section if she hadn't been present to advocate for us. She noticed things our nurses didn't catch (who knew you could have a bad bag of Pitocin??), she kept me comfortable through lots of back labor, and she acted as a confident guide through a long labor. She was the calm in the storm for both me and my husband, and we are so thankful we had her with us when our daughter surprised us with a sunny-side up arrival. In addition to her invaluable labor services, she noticed an impending medical issue during her postpartum visit we had overlooked. She helped us be more prepared for what was to come, which allowed us to seek the appropriate medical care in a timely manner. We will forever be thankful for Ashley's presence in our lives, and we can't wait to utilize her services again in the future when we try for baby #2!
