I didn't have a single girlfriend here, no family nearby, no one who really understood what I was going through. I was scared, and I felt so alone. BLB changed that. Milk Makers' Circle gave me a room full of moms who understood the exhaustion and the joy of breastfeeding. Music classes became the highlight of my toddler's week and mine too. Sarah's Comfort Measures class helped my husband and me feel ready instead of terrified for birth. Erin's prenatal massages helped me feel taken care of. Webster chiropractic care with Hannah helped turn my breech baby, and my doula walked beside me through the whole journey of bringing my son earth side at home. You will find a village here, one class and one appointment at a time. If you're a mama in Reno feeling even a little bit lost, please know this place exists. It changed everything for me. When we hired Ashley, I was open to either unmedicated birth or an epidural- I had no preference and she was totally game for either. After I had been in labor for quite some time, I decided to proceed with the epidural; a decision Ashley knew was completely supportive of and helped me through. In that moment, I was slightly worried we had invested in a doula who would now be of less service to us, since I would be having a medicated birth... I could not have been more wrong! I am 100% certain I would have ended up having an emergency c-section if she hadn't been present to advocate for us. She noticed things our nurses didn't catch (who knew you could have a bad bag of Pitocin??), she kept me comfortable through lots of back labor, and she acted as a confident guide through a long labor. She was the calm in the storm for both me and my husband, and we are so thankful we had her with us when our daughter surprised us with a sunny-side up arrival. In addition to her invaluable labor services, she noticed an impending medical issue during her postpartum visit we had overlooked. She helped us be more prepared for what was to come, which allowed us to seek the appropriate medical care in a timely manner. We will forever be thankful for Ashley's presence in our lives, and we can't wait to utilize her services again in the future when we try for baby #2!

To think some people go through the birthing process without the support of a quality doula is mind boggling to me. Future dads and non-birthing partners - at first I thought the doula was more to support the woman giving birth... which for pregnancy and birth prep is true, but also, depending on circumstances (with baby mama will be in birthing-la-la-land) you'll end up working pretty closely with the doula making sure the birth goes according to plan. Do yourself a favor and hire Danielle. Its worth way more that the monetary cost. Doctors are there to crank out as many births as possible, not to follow the plan you and your partner have laid out. Danielle helps deliver the birth you want, no matter what that plan may be.

My husband and I first encountered Harvest Moon Birth Services after attending the 7 week birth series. During that class, we felt well prepared for all things related to birth and the newborn. It was after the class that we decided a birth doula would be a good fit for our family and we hired Danielle to support us. I highly recommend Harvest Moon Birth Services to any family getting ready to welcome a new baby into their homes.

I was recommended by another friend who used her services and from our first meet and greet, I knew she was a great fit. This was my 2nd home birth and I knew I wanted to try a new midwife with my 2nd pregnancy. Tiffany is attentive, real, extremely supportive and knowledgeable. Home birth is about choice, power, safety, spiritual, honoring the birther and child. Tiffany touched on all these and so much more. She delivered the facts, research and left the choices to the parents. From a young adult, I knew I wanted a home birth. After watching the "The Business of Being Born" it solidified my desire. Then covid happened and I was sold on home birth. Now, I can't imagine having gone through labor and birth with the restrictions of a hospital. Thank you Tiffany for showing me care, kindness, protection, and reassurance that I can do it, I did it, we did it and now I only wish I wanted more and more babies so I can go through this scared experience with Tiffany again. And the fact that she brings her business partner, Amanda who is another practicing midwife to all births really portrays the support every birther should have

The last experience pushed me to try something new this time. And I'm so incredibly grateful. Tiffany gave me all the information to questions I asked in a very non-biased way. She gives you lots of time at appointments and is so easy to talk to. She lent me books to read and helped me feel empowered that I could have exactly the birth I wanted. When I had prodromal labor after my due date she came to my home for a non stress test and predicted that the cord was around the neck and suggested getting monitored at the hospital just to be sure everything was ok and that baby could withstand birth at home. She didn't take any unnecessary risks. The birth was at home, calm and perfect - even better than I had hoped (and Tiffany was right - the cord was loosely around the neck). She connected me with Meredith at Nourish Nevada - the most amazing lactation group that has blessed my life after 4 failed breastfeeding experiences with my others. She recommended an amazing pelvic floor therapist that helped my birth be amazing and my recovery even better. I'm actually mourning that this is my last baby because I'm finally surrounded by this incredible team of women who know how to help you have the best experience with birth, have a strong body, feed your baby like a pro and feel so proud of yourself and what your body can do. I can't express how much I wish I had found Tiffany and my team sooner. But better late than never I suppose.

Highly recommend her if you are looking for a special and intimate birthing experience!!! It all started on March 13th at 9:30 am in the morning...John and I were taking about my water breaking and how that would be... moments later my water broke! My official due date was March 24th it was surreal I could hardly believe it was happening... I was able to rest a bit and take it easy till around 3:30 pm when my contractions started. They came on fast and furious but I was able to manage the pain with my AMAZING HUSBAND BY MY SIDE!!! my mom and best friend also helped me through each contraction as they kept getting closer together and lasting longer each time... I can not explain how my body was in full control and I was just along for the ride... at around 9 pm our midwife arrived at that point I had just started to feel the pressure to push. Diane Schaub our midwife empowered both my husband and I to feel confident in our decision to have a home birth I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for the ultimate special experience that birthing your child at home provides. After a few hours of pushing at 12:34am my husband helped guide our son into this new world. All I can say is - I don't know why anyone goes to a hospital!! Before baby arrival - Amanda made me feel like a human being, not a baby production factory. I never had to deal with an underpaid front desk staff - I always had direct contact with her. She took time for all my questions, never made me do extra, or coerced me to do something. When I was late or needed to reschedule there was never a late or cancelation fee, just understanding that I was a busy person. During and after delivery- I made all the choices, I was allowed to follow the flow of my body, and Amanda just gave me confidence I needed. She of course had all of the expertise to keep me safe, but she never made me feel belittled or like I couldn't do it - which was the experience I had during my hospital delivery. So all in all - she helped me have the perfect delivery experience! I felt empowered by what my body could do, in the comfort of my own home, and had a healthy baby.

Sarah took time to meet with us and get to know us before offering her suggestion of which team of doulas might match best. I felt so comfortable with Gianna and Sierra from our very first meeting, and really appreciated how they supported us with two people, opening up options for support during labor and delivery. They provided so many resources and information, and were available for any questions at all which meant so much to me, again, having so much unknown my first time. Gianna ended up being there to actually see me through the labor and delivery. I wasn't sure what to expect, but she came when I felt I really started to need extra support and I cannot IMAGINE having done it without her. She helped me through the hardest parts and helped me feel so supported and safe; she gave me what I needed at points when I didn't know I needed it. Her gentle and calm presence and, even at times laughing with her made such a difference in my laboring. It also was a huge help to my partner and allowed him to take care of things that needed to be while she supported me. She stayed until well after the birth, and even helped wash and clean the sheets and helped my daughter and I with our first breast meeting! When I had a lot of anxiety surrounding breast feeding issues after, Sierra answered so many questions for me that were helpful and at the postpartum visit, they answered so many questions I couldn't have anticipated. They were both an integral part of this miraculous journey and I am forever grateful. I highly recommend either of them if you want extra support and if I ever have another baby I'll be calling them again.
