Let's start off with this place is amazing! ***** My son is four years old and he's extremely shy…read more I thought taekwondo would be great for him to meet new kids and learn valuable lessons. This is his third week and I'm absolutely in love with all the instructors. They are kind, caring, and consistent. Whenever my son goes to shut down and doesn't want to participate they are patient and they work with him to get him involved. When he puts up his walls, it is also really difficult on me. I feel sometimes I don't know what to do or how to help get him involved. I get flustered and frustrated. Today I have a two instructors made me feel extremely comfortable when my son was shutting down. I have also had parents come up and tell me it's okay, their child did it too. I have actually thought multiple times of just walking out because I'm so embarrassed, but because of the support, and kindness they show me, I feel like I can get through it. If I could give them 10 stars I would! I high recommend this place to anyone wanting to introduce their child to Taekwondo. Thank you again to all the instructors! We signed up for the year and look forward to it!

This place is long overdue for a review from me. NB Tae Kwon Do is an amazing place. It is run by…read moretwo brothers and their mother. The vibe here is community. I am not an expert at Tae Kwon Do but I am a master parent. My son was 4 1/2 when he started and had a horrible temper and enjoyed hitting his sister. My son has been coming here close to six months now and he doesn't hit his sister and is a much better student at school. What more could I say? If I read my testimony I would ask, "Where do I sign?" The walls and counters are filled with trophies and childrens report cards, letter from teachers etc. i am not sure how the adult classes are but most of the adult students are incredibly active here in the childrens classes. They also appear to be capable to kicking my butt. Children arrive early to class with smiles on their faces and leave late to play with the other children. The parents have been so welcoming of me and are incredibly friendly to talk to. The classes have set times but the instructors do not end class until they are confident the kids got what they came to learn. I like that. Overall, this is the spot if you are interested in getting your kids in martial arts. In a way, I owe them my sanity. I was unable to control my sons negative attitude. Having him come 2-3 times a week for class has taught him so much more than I could. Kudos to NB! We will be lifetime members.

What we really like about this dojo is that the teacher is very patient and inclusive with all the young students. He teaches with a good mixtures of games and drills. It's not just 45 minutes of perfecting karate moves. Class for little champions usually starts with opening ceremony which includes showing respect to both the founders, teachers and fellow students. Then warm up begins with light stretching and counting in Japanese. After the kids have stretched out there is usually 1-2 games of cardio to get the them warmed up. Typically all you hear is laughter from the children during this segment of class. The next portion of class is usually karate drills which include the normal kicking/punching/blocking and class usually ends with another game of either reaction training or a version of sparring for 5 year olds (think flag football). Sensei Ralph has really made a positive impact in our son's life. We encourage all others to try out the class!!!

Amazing Sensei, great training, and I've heard his comp team does amazingly well…read more The only two things that are a huge challenge for our family are: 1. Sensei keeps switching the schedule weekly or monthly, therefore our family, having many other commitments can't make it to class, I've never heard of any academy that changes schedules so much, so often. Our other children (we have 5) have all been in martial arts for years without a single change in schedule. Pandemic is over, not sure why it keeps changing, and they oftentimes tell us the day of, or the day before, or that week, when we have our whole month planned out. Keep the schedule as is and don't change it, please! 2. Neighborhood doesn't feel safe at all, run-down shopping center... Other than that, amazing Sensei!
