He demonstrates each movement introducing the particulars that make a difference in your learning. I've visited and trained at many dojos/ gyms in the valley, across Arizona and locations across the country. This school has to be in the top 2% of quality of instruction. The facility is roomy, clean and comfortable for training. The mats are on a suspended floor which remove much of the ache from any takedown practice. Finally, the students are part of a cooperative community - helping one another to win on and off the mat. Visit and watch a class and you'll see the quality difference knowledgeable BJJ, Judo, and Kickboxing practitioners look for.

I had very specific needs of a trainer for my son (14 yr. old) to continue his years of training in boxing / martial arts. He met them all! Joseph was very attentive in reaching out and responding to me. I explained what I was looking for and that I wanted to see if it was a good match for him and our son to train before committing to anything. At the 1st session I knew right away Joseph was committed and a master at what he does. My son instantly clicked with him and he himself said he wanted to give it a go @ Kajukenbo, this was a new form of training for him. His background was mainly boxing with some experience in Jiu-jitsu. Joseph teaches discipline, assertiveness and helps students gain confidence. He supported me in things I have my son focus on as well; responsibility and accountability. I appreciated the one on one talks he would have with my son. Words of wisdom that my son will carry on for the rest of his life. I will NEVER be able to thank him enough for what he has done for my son! I was a bit nervous having her join so young, but with Sifu Joseph's direction, she has taken to the sport very well as is one of the fiercest little Little Dragons. Sifu Joseph dedicates so much of his time to his students and helps us out when he can (travel issues, gear/supplies, gently-used uniforms) either personally or by brainstorming with the other parents to resolve the issue. My daughters have recently earned their yellow belts and I am happy to see them thrive in Kajukenbo. I place so much trust in their sifu and am grateful to him for mentoring and guiding my girls. They use unscrupulous business practices and vaguely written contracts designed to trap you into paying for extra months you've already covered. ​I signed up for a month-to-month membership. At the time of signing, I paid a total of $289.98, which explicitly included a $119.99 payment for my 'Last Month'. ​When I canceled on December 13th--giving notice 30 days notice.--i called the gym , spoke with two members , emailed them and confirmed I wouldn't be charged again. Despite having already paid for my 'last month' upfront, their billing department (ClubReady) is now trying to double-charge me for a third month I never used and is threatening to report it to my credit. The contract EXPLICITLY shows a 'Last Month' payment of $119.99 made on day one. By threatening my credit for a third month, they are effectively trying to charge me for a 60-day notice period on a 'month-to-month' agreement, which is predatory. Posting so others are aware of what they are getting into. They will wait for the trial class to be over , the runners high to hit, and then try to sell you. Say no , use the free class and move on. Look at knockout fitness reviews ( not a franchised location, but the full business). Youll quickly see why you should just get a workout in and leave. Decent people, indecent business practices. But, Youll find similar reviews all over. Also reporting these practices to the BBB, AG, as well as other platforms for consumer awareness. They'll say its in the contract (its not) and are a predatory business. If there is a response , remember. Businesses are here to make money , consumers protect consumers. Protect yourself and dont sign up for this gym , let alone any other knockout fitness. Have since found a more transparent, non predatory gym thats been great.

They tell you…read moreit's no cancellations or refunds when you start payments but if you try to cancel before you even pay the registration fee they still will not let you cancel. I told these people I have a family emergency and cannot afford the classes and all I was told "I'm sorry I can't help you" and then I was hung up. I even asked to put a different card on file and they said if that card bounces back that they would still charge my original card. These people are heartless and this place is a scam. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS PLACE.

Everyone is really nice and even if I left taekwondo for a couple of months because of school and work, when I came back everyone was nice and patient with me. They all make sure to teach you and make things fun, it's an small place but definitely has everything you will need! Everyone gets together and bring food for belt celebration parties all the time too, and everyone makes sure all kids bring or get water, snacks and drinks when needed.
