The barber, Seth Braden, rushed through my cut in about 15 minutes, which was already a red flag, and the result was the worst haircut I've ever had. The fade was uneven, the tape line was crooked, and he even used scissors--something no barber has needed for my hair before. He also mentioned he didn't have time for my beard, which was honestly a relief given the poor job on the cut. For a $35 haircut, plus a tip, I expected quality, but this experience was disappointing. Based on my visit, I can't recommend this barber.

My husband lovessss a clean sharp haircut, and he's been to every place from the assembly line hair shops to the super pricey uppity salons to find someone who can cut his hair the way HE likes. It's been a process...and then he stumbled upon Tads Barbershop and it's like his prayers were answered. First off, it's an actual real barbershop with real guys cutting hair...and it's a cool laid back atmosphere. He swears he has never had someone give him such a fresh cut. Well, on that note, we started taking our son there too. I also agree that my fellas have the best haircuts I've seen. My husband honestly loves GOING to get his hair cut because he knows now that he's getting what he wants finally. This place is the real deal, and I would highly suggest checking it out for yourself. P.S.my son is only 6 and he feels special being in a mens barbershop...no more commercialized assembly line shops for this family :) read more

Best barber out there. I was recommended to Tad a little over a year ago and I have not been to another barber since. Still does the straight razor and hot towel on the neck unlike many barbershops. They can actually do a military haircut such as a high and tight or fade that looks so easy but apparently is extremely difficult for most barbers. Very comfortable and traditional atmosphere. Tad and Tad Jr. are extremely professional and will make you feel like family. I can guarantee after your first visit, you will feel like you have been going here forever. I am particular about my hair but I can honestly go here without second guessing or worrying about what to expect. These are the best barbers in Wilmington by far. I know college students, children, and seniors that have been going here for a while and love it. If you're looking for a barber, this is your place. read more

I have never seen fading this well blended and conformed to an individual's head shape! Being new to the area Tad transformed my son's basic military fade into an individualized true style and he and Tad Sr. have made us both feel welcome and part of the community. He has been attentive to my wishes, very personable, and amazing at creating an atmosphere for my son (now 6). Such a bond that prompts him to ask to return just days after to see Mr. Tad! I trust that as my son grows he will have the ability to maintain a fresh clean image that suits his needs and a tradition that any boy or man would find ideal. When I think of finding a barber I think lifelong family commitment-we found that at Tad's. This shop really emulates the old fashioned barbershop feel with a new age progressive twist. So I did a web search for barders and found Tad's. The picture and reviews caught my attention. So I ventured out on a very cold Feb morning to Tad's. The experience was the best that I have had at a barber shop! I was privileged to have the owner, Tad, cut my hair and was 100% pleased. You cannot go wrong with Tad's! This place is great. I was in search of a barber shop because I had just moved down to Wilmington from Fayetteville. I googled barber shops near me because I'm used to making appointments on Booksy and Tad's was the first to pop up. The barbers in there were friendly. I didn't know I had to sit in front of the barber that I wanted to see, but that was no big deal at all. I got my hair cut by Wilkes and let me tell you, this man can cut hair. I've been to see Zic, as he likes to be called, three times for a haircut so far. He always does a great job and makes my time in his shop feel relaxing. His attention to detail and how he treats his customers is very good. I really like the additional touches such as washing your hair before the cut, trimming the eyebrows, using a straight edge razor for clean up, and the hot towel. There's no additional charge for any of this and that makes the $20 cost in my opinion a bargain. read more
