The shop had a unique look--more like a biker bar than a typical barbershop, which caught my attention. Unfortunately, my experience took a turn once I was in the chair. The barber, Seth Braden, rushed through my cut in about 15 minutes, which was already a red flag, and the result was the worst haircut I've ever had. The fade was uneven, the tape line was crooked, and he even used scissors--something no barber has needed for my hair before. He also mentioned he didn't have time for my beard, which was honestly a relief given the poor job on the cut. For a $35 haircut, plus a tip, I expected quality, but this experience was disappointing. Based on my visit, I can't recommend this barber.

I've been on a heroic quest to find a good barbershop in Wilmington, and let me tell you, the…read morejourney was grim. After enough bad haircuts to make me consider just shaving my head, I stumbled upon GDN Mancave Barbershop. This place restored my faith in barbers. I showed up at 4:50 pm, ten minutes before closing, hoping they'd let me in. Two barbers greeted me--a girl giving someone the royal treatment and a guy chilling in his chair. When I asked if they could take one more, he just grinned and said, 'Absolutely!' At that moment, I knew I was in the right place. As soon as I sat down, I realized this wasn't your typical barbershop; it felt more like a lounge with a bar. Nate, the barber, turned out to be from Miami, just like me! We hit it off right away. Then, he offered me a free beer or water, which really sealed the deal. I mean, where else can you get a fresh cut and a drink to go with it? Nate asked if I wanted to see some of his work, and after checking out his photos, I handed over my hair (and my trust) like it was a sacred offering. His technique was something else he barely touched my face with the clippers, and at one point, I had to double-check he was even cutting anything! He checked in throughout the whole process, and by the end, I had the best haircut of my life. Nate is the Michael Jordan of barbers, and GDN Mancave is his court. If you're tired of barbershops that feel like hair horror stories, you've gotta try this place. Your hairline will thank you!"

I had A LOT of hope for this place. I decided to try this place out because my usual barber at Tame…read morethe Mane was booked full for today, and I saw that this place had really great ratings on Google and Yelp. The shop was slow, so I didn`t have to wait too long. It must have been a bad timing on my part or a bad day for the owner, Billy, because when I asked for a recommendation for a new hairstyle he said that "Today is not the greatest time". So I showed him a picture that I found online of how I wanted my hair to look like, and it sounded like he is confident in what he is doing. From the other reviews I do not doubt his ability to cut hair, but maybe the Asian hair is a bit of a challenge. There must have been a miscommunication because he didn`t ask if I wanted the sides of my head tapped or buzzed all the way to the skin. The price is $18 for a haircut, and I never got the hot-towel treatment like the other user Paul said, nor have my side burns shaved to line up with the mid of my ear. The hair cut went from bad to the worst haircut of my life. I felt very rushed and towards the end of this horrible experience he wouldn`t give me any suggestions on how to fix it, but kept saying "It`s up to you." I will not be giving this place another chance, and I hope other customers have a better experience than I did. Thank you for reading.
