This is my second time ever getting my hair cut (as a bald guy) the first time was about a year ago somewhere else and it was just a bad experience so I said "I'll just stick to doing myself". Over the past few weeks though I moved places and my hair grew out a little too much and I was like you know what I'm gonna spoil myself and am I glad I did. I was in desperate need for a haircut and the place I usually go to ALWAYS has a long wait. I came to Hanover Men's Cuts because the online reviews were okay and my friend said they were nice people. "Nice" was a MAJOR understatement! Deb and Ruth are two of the sweetest women I have ever met. I walked in and was warmly greeted. Deb cut my hair and we chatted the day away. Very happy with this "hole in the wall" full service men's cut and style place that is someplace between a barbershop and a salon (at barbershop $). Very clean and everyone was trying to give clients exactly the cut they wanted. I hadn't had a professional cut in almost 2 years (because of Covid and a long illness), I'm the meantime I had lost a lot of hair and my former haircut wouldn't work for me anymore. My stylist made some suggestions and was willing to cut my hair a couple of different ways until I was happy, but I liked her first suggestion just fine and I'll definitely be going back again. The only suggestion I have is to make an appointment because they have the time that their services take pretty much down to a science. They take walk-ins but its a busy place and you may be waiting quite a bit between scheduled appointments. read more

Deb has been cutting my hair for nearly a year now. I usually set a recurring appointment each month but there are plenty of walk-in hours in case I need a fresh haircut and beard trim for some occasion. It's a great place to get in and out, and plenty of great conversation with both the employees and other customers. For guys with facial hair, I have a beard and I understand the care you want put into cutting and shaping it. This is a solid place to have that done. I originally started coming here because of the great reviews from other guys who swore by the talent. Be cautious of the bad reviews for this place. They seem a little suspect with all the name-dropping for the competition; as well as some reviewers not even getting a haircut there, but still leaving a poor review. read more

Went in today and staff there was the barber and she was super nice and friendly but nothing (at all) about the place seemed or looked like a barber shop including the fact that it's another place you have to hear the words scheduled and booked appointment only. (In their defense I'll say to call yourself a barber you have to go to barber school which is different than cosmo school.. ) But I go to a barbershop not just for an authentic barber cut, I go for the straight edge razor tight edging and clean up, the feel, the tradition, the authenticity. I go to a barber shop for the experience, because of all the things a traditional and authentic barbershop is. This place while clean looked like and felt like everything a salon or beauty / perm parlor is, and that's just my personal preference. My review I want to be clear is NOT commenting on cut quality or the barbers themselves because I didn't hang around long enough to say either way. As other reviewers say on some other reviews, traditionally a barber shop takes walk ins if they are open and a place that looks and feels like a beauty parlor that I hear the words appointment only, just isn't what I personally like or am looking for. Hanover just unfortunately was not like authentic and traditional local barbershops are, places that are such as Tad's or Midtown or College RD Barbershop which are as traditional and authentic as it gets around my hometown and those are barbershops with outstanding barbers where the shop has the qualities I personally look for and want when getting a hair cut. read more

Deb, Tiffany and Ruth are all great! I've seen all types come in to get a great haircut--businessmen, students, retirees, etc. Everyone is welcomed and treated with great respect. They cut my hair better than upscale salons I've tried. Best haircut I have had in years! I get a quality cut, good grooming advice, and a good overall experience at a fair price. I would recommend Hanover Mens Cuts to a friend or family member. Located in a corner of a shopping center between Kerr and College next to Dicks Sporting Goods--well worth the effort to find. read more

Trusted the reviews on here and they were right. This woman was fantastic. It's a small shop it's just her so if there's more than one person it could take a little bit so plan accordingly. The wait ( if there is one) is worth it. I asked her to help me decide a style and she took the time to really asses my features and give me options. I took her advice on one and couldn't be happier it was an excellent cut and style with severe attention to detail, she went over my head and removed every out of place hair. After that I trusted her with my beard and asked for a trim. Again fantastic attention to detail and it looks great. I will no longer go to the chain places after this. read more

I was hesitant to try a new place as I am very picky about my haircuts. All I can say is I will definitely be going back here in the future. Deb did an outstanding job from start to finish. She took the time beforehand to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted. I did not feel rushed at all when telling her how I liked my haircut. She added a neck shave at the end and made sure I was completely satisfied with my hair before leaving. Quite simply the best barber I've found. Go here if you want someone who asks what you want and delivers. Deborah takes her time, has a photographic memory of the last time you got a haircut, and is always great to talk to. On average, I've got my haircut once every two weeks for ten years. Went by there today not knowing what to expect. First of all I didn't have to wait forever which was great and than these sweet 2 ladies both tried to help me out of how to cut my hair correctly. Absolutely the best place for a haircut in wilmington for guys. Today was my first day going there and when I walked in a lady named Deb introduced herself and welcomed me in. This place is a small clean and awesome barber shop with tons of mens quality products, up to date mens magazines, and awesome barber chairs.
