Great class. Detailed and not boring. Very organized. The live fire instruction at the range went very smooth. These folks know their stuff.

As we all know, skeet was invented in Andover, Ma... just up the road a bit, and was introduced at Angle Tree RGC shortly thereafter.. Angle Tree Stone has two skeet fields, a trap field, an outdoor rifle range up to 100 yards, as well as an indoor archery and air-gun ranges. The club has been undergoing a series of major improvement, most recently the skeet fields were improved 10 fold through the hard work of the membership. There are long range plans in the works for improvements to the indoor range as well. Being in two skeet leagues at Angle Tree, I shoot there frequently. The background is old fashioned vintage New England, which gives Angle Tree a style all its own. It's skeet the old fashioned way, with a background more challenging than you're used to. A lot of fun.. There's a good group of regulars at the club every weekend and they're always happy to welcome newcomers. The skeet and trap fields at Angle Tree are open to the public at 1:00PM on weekends. You can check the calendar on their web site for additional sporting opportunities.. Head over to Angle Tree RGC and shoot a few rounds, you won't regret it. www.angletreergc.org

There are many outdoor ranges from 200 yard rifle to various pistol as well as trap and skeet. There is also an indoor range for handguns and 22's but a hidden treasure of this club is their archery program which involves offshoots for women as well as the junior program for younger folks. People with different interests are willing to help and while you do have to serve 30 hours of helping maintain the club or run its activities your first year, this helps meet other people to socialize you into their matrix. Members are very friendly and the public can either attend as a member's guest or their settler's day weekend once a year in September. Otherwise to come on your own you have to be a member for which there is a waiting list but it's well worth signing up to get on the list, the time passes faster than you think. What makes this range very unique is that you can shoot at steel targets at closer ranges, more specifically as long as you are using handgun calibers in a rifle you can shoot steel targets at handgun ranges though there are a variety of rules to follow for this safe pursuit. There is no fishing nor can you hunt on club grounds so it's not huge like some of the state's biggest clubs, but it's not a small club either with many different avenues.

I flew solo as did another female I met but I also got to meet several couples and friends that all had a great day taking this course! I started my day a complete newbie! Never handled a firearm, had very little knowledge, was nervous / intimidated. The in class portion ran from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM and was super informative. Firearm safety is paramount and Bill was great at reinforcing that. We were able to handle revolvers, semi automatic weapons and ammunition, up close and personal. There was also stance and firing practice that really helped me get more comfortable handling a firearm. The range time ran from about 2:30 - 5:00 PM and was very exciting for me. Bill was there every step of the way offering guidance. This class was worth every penny. I got to receive my "Commonwealth of Massachusetts - Basic Firearms Safety Certificate" and the "NRA - Basics of Pistol Shooting Guide" plus being able to use all of the guns, safety gear, targets and ammo at the range. Bill is just the best! I would recommend any class he teaches. He is a friendly guy who loves what he does and it shows. Beginner or seasoned vet - check out the classes at Patriot Firearm & Defense! I am glad I did!

Bill is extremely considerate of his students and really takes the time to make sure everyone is comfortable and knowledgeable by the time the class is over. He mixes real passion for his craft with practical guidance and recommendations. And he's got a great sense of humor! I enjoyed the class immensely and even though I grew up shooting, I learned so much about pistols that I wasn't aware of. Thank you for the great experience!
