Bought a Groupon for the safety course. This is just what I needed to get my gun license. Dan was wonderful! The class was fun, informative and reassuring. There were 20 people from all different walks of life (and ages). We learned everything about gun safety; parts of a gun, when you can use it, types of guns and even had some shooting practice. I have taken a couple of courses with Tactical Dynamics and overall, I had a great experience. The course I took yesterday was the Pistol Skill Builder class. Rob and Jeff were the instructors. Rob initially did a review of the Gun Safety topics and assigned Primary and Secondary person in the event of a mishap during the class. I was very impressed because they are not just teaching the class but also concerned about the well being of the participants. I learned a lot from the different exercises and drills being a first-timer. If you don't own a firearm, they have a loaner complete with holster and magazine holder. You just have to be prepared with extra cash. To fully take advantage you probably need a little over $100 for the loaner and ammunition. read more

What a fantastic group of guys that teach the courses! I've taken the MA LTC course, the Utah Non-Resident CC course and Use of Force/Concealed Carry/Home Defense course so far. The guys are all police officers and military veterans with years of experience, training and lots of great stories to share. Whether you are a beginner, novice or have years of experience with handling guns/conceal carry/real life situations you will learn something new from these guys. The endless list of courses they offer is overwhelming yet exciting which is why I am signing up for a membership! I recently took the firearms safety course, and it was excellent. All the instructors were great, taking a potentially dry subject and making it bearable, they also answered all questions regarding applying for a LTC in Mass. The range time after the class is what moved a 4 star experience to 5. Great setup, and very safe structure. One tip, bring cash to buy some extra rounds, quicker than paying with Credit Card. read more

My wife and I took the basic firearms safety course today for our LTC. I, have no issue and have experience with firearms handling BUT my wife has been mortified, scared to death, and terrified of guns her entire life. I ensured her knowledge is key, and TD did just that. She loved the instructor Denis Donovan and his humor, which broke her nervousness about the firearms, while also giving her great instruction and KNOWLEDGE to safely handle them. She went to the range, shot very well, SAFELY, and overcame her fear of guns. Now if they only ran a class to overcome her only fear left; going to the dentist! !!! Lol. I've taken 3 classes with Tactical Dynamics over the past two months: MA/FL/UT/ME Concealed Carry course, Defensive Handgun 1, and Use of Force/Concealed Carry/Home Defense. In each class I learned a great deal from instructors who set high standards but were also very approachable. Learning is fun! Learning and shooting is even more fun! TD has continued to add better and better classes to keep the path to improvement in proficiency at a high level never ending. The concealed carry course really provides real world experience I hope I never need but now have a feel for. I have taken training with other groups/companies, could not image they would ever offer such effective live fire training. Rob, Dennis, and James continue to be the best around. The cost is so little compared to other (and the ammo used), it is a stellar value. And as before, they ensure a safe context to live fire, holster draw, move and shoot etc. Recently I saw TD train a young woman with no experience to safely draw and hit the target well, all done right, proper, and safe - light years better/faster than the traditional (XRA slow safe...). read more

Beware. False credentials of instructor and company. Any company issuing MPTC courses by "Master Rated MPTC firearm instructors", "NRA, SigSauer" should be verifiable They are operating without a license. They call the company run by service disabled veterans. We could not find them listed. We found NAPD Rob Curran, Sgt Denis Donovan, and MBTA Police James Wise are owners of Tactical Dynamics Firearms Training, LLC. Only Sgt. Donovan's name shows up on the current MPTC Basic Skills list as LEOSA. He can only teach retired separated at approved MPTC facilities. Robert Curran is not the MPTC NRA or SigSauer companies certified firearm instructors. We further checked credentials of James Wise, Jeff Riopel, BPD Officer Jon Obrien and MBTA James Witzfall. We could not find that they were licensed firearm instructors in Massachusetts. Before they issue firearm certificates and teach LE and the public about how to get certified for LTC, they need to first get certified. Beware. read more

The instructors are friendly, and make the class interesting, while ensuring the inclusion of all required material. The Gun Safety course was conveniently located, and included both a didactic and interactive component. Questions were welcome, encouraged, and thoroughly addressed. Both were very accommodating, allowing extra time for parking challenges due to the excessive snow (checking on meters), provided ample breaks for comfort, and engaged in thoughtful conversation with participants. Learning from two seasoned professionals, and honorable veterans was a pleasure. Tactical Dynamics Firearms Training is a must when it comes to being a responsible gun owner and handler. My brother and I took Defensive Handgun 1 with owner/instructors Denis and Rob yesterday. The down to earth no BS way they instruct is very good. They let you know how serious the subject matter is (guns) while still adding laughs and sense of humor into the instruction. They had us out of the classroom and onto the range within 45 minutes and we we're set up and shooting 30 minutes after that. We started off with basic sight picture drills and moved right into shooting drills. We put a lot of rounds on paper throughout the day. My brother, who has really never shot, tightened up his groups by the end of the day. The firearm malfunction drills were very helpful and the training overall was great. I have taken the MA firearms safety course, conceal carry/home defense course, Carbine 1 and now Defensive Handgun 1 with tactical dynamics and each course has been full of information that all gun owners should know. The live fire portion of the FSC, Carbine 1 and DH1 we're top notch and you leave feeling confident with your skills while still wanting to do better and learn more. Can't wait to carve out more time in my schedule to take another course with the guys at TacDynamics. read more

Went to the Firearms Class required to get my license. I was late due to an accident on Rt 95, and the highway was a parking lot. I called ahead and told the secretary at the Elks Lodge. When I arrived I was a half hour late and Rob and his partner made me feel more than welcome. The instruction was to the point and precise. I felt both instructors answered all questions as if each and every one was important and that none were silly. When it came time to handle the weapons provided they were very helpful especially because my right arm is permanently bent at the elbow from an accident and they helped me to compensate. I never got the feeling that because of my age or my gender that I shouldn't be interested in or getting my firearms license. Good Job :) read more
