Thanks for leaving your empty Stop n Shop cake box on the table for all to enjoy! (I'm a neat freak). Outdoors is only open if there is a Range Officer, and they volunteer in 4 hour shifts. Indoor ranges do not require Range Officers open 24/7. Most Range Officers are seemingly relaxed and driven by common sense, and even quite friendly. Joe Ruff, Joe V and Zoo all have made great contributions to the club over the years. Kessler was a great guy too. Most folks who patron there are willing to talk with you, show you their weapon and even let you take a shot or two. Great hobbyists who are willing to share information.b Never been in an unsafe situation, done anything unsafe, felt unsafe, or seen anything unsafe at BR& PC. Likewise, I have not heard any racism, racist jokes, or hate speech; however, it is a gun club, and people there do not like Maura Healy, Hillary Clinton, etc so you do hear a lot of politics-talk. Also, it is an extremely diverse club; not an old white boys club. A good 24-7 indoor range, two buildings. Worth the 125.00 a year. Friday and Saturday is date night. Smoking is allowed indoors. Two desk areas to clean your firearms. All the free coffee you can drink, and a free pasta meal at the meeting nights.

FOLLOW UP- A long drawn out review was posted here in 2021 about an incident that went down at the…read moreclub with a member who is a "protected member" among those who run the club where I was screwed over by the club hierarchy in this persons favor, and I just came on here to add a follow-up to the initial statement, However it apparently deleted the initial statement and replaced it with the follow up which was not my intent, I wanted BOTH to stay posted so people could see the WHOLE story. So without getting too lengthy, long story short, I was a regular here for a few years, just about every day, The rule at the club at the time regarding the old brass (shells) was that if the person leave them behind, its a first come first serve scenario and whoever wants them can have them, so I used to come by daily and sweep out both ranges, the outdoor range, change the trash bags and pick the shells out of the barrels etc, and all was fine until one day this older member barged in on me, cussing me out, asking who the hell I am etc, and implicitly telling me this is HIS brass, and that NO one else is supposed to be touching it as he snatches the bag of shells out of my hand and keeps yelling at me and telling me that he's a range officer, At the time I wasn't sure who he was, I initially apologized and said "I didn't know, I was told it was there for the taking if the person leaves it behind" and he said NO its his, So the next day and following days after this, I go back and mention this to numerous other members and they all unanimously agreed that this is not the case, this person is out of line, thats not what the rules say etc, and tell me to just ignore/avoid this guy, do my own thing and pay him not mind, However that wasn't possible, because from this point onward, there was nothing but endless taunting, racial comments, threats etc from this person. Then came the fake assault allegation Since the initial statement was published, I have attempted a few more times to send messages to the club via the email address, facebook page, and to various members, saying things like "Here we are 10 years later, has this individual admitted yet that he lied, set me up and unjustly gotten me thrown out ?, Is he even still alive ?, If not, what are the odds of getting back in ?" and got no replies. I initially forgot to mention as well, although I did mention the fact that the hierarchy runs as a "good ole' boys club", a "one hand washes the other, friends helping friends" sort of order, where those who "aren't in the click, can go fu** themselves" as far as the hierarchy is concerned, the part I failed to also mention is that the individual who did this, also happens to be very friendly with Eric, the president, and he was also even more friendly with Don Kusser, the late VP who is no longer with us. For years after this incident I was still friends on facebook with Don before he passed, and even he never brought up the situation, other members who I still talk to say that the individual is still there and they see him still "doing his thing" as far as the brass goes, and so its more than apparent that his reasoning for pulling this stunt was exactly what I mentioned in the first review, which was that I was "cutting in on his territory". Speaking of which, this evokes a whole new topic as well, Do you know what he was doing with all of this spent brass ?, Was he scrapping it ?, Yes and no, He would scrap the stuff that wasn't reloadable such as .22's and stuff that was already reloaded a few times already, BUT the bigger draw for him is his little side business that he runs within the club, He and the other fellow I previously mentioned who lives in Holbrook, like to gather up all the brass, they reload it, and then resell it to members. Do I have anything against this ?, Not at all, They go around and peddle ammo to new guys and old timers alike, they will approach new guys and ask what they're shooting, ask if they need any etc and pick up new customers, BUT, the sticking point is that if you're doing this on the scale which he is, this is considered a manufacturing operation which thus would require both local, state and federal permits which this individual doesn't have !, This brings up the whole saying "Those who live in glass houses shouldn't cast stones !", So this guy is running a borderline illegal, under the table ammo operation which although it isn't "harming anyone", is still illegal in the manner he's doing it, but yet at the same time he has the audacity to pull the kind of sh*t that he did, That unto itself shows you how secure and untouchable he feels that he is there, and how much "protection" he thinks he has, being under the wing of those who call the shots, If he were just an average nobody, Joe-Blow, he would immediately check himself and think twice before doing anything like this because of the "what-if factor" of it possibly backfiring on him and bringing his own sins into the spotlight !

I got interested in archery kind of by accident. When I was in middle school, we had a…read moreShakespearean festival, which included archery among other things. The bows they had were these cheap compounds (with the wheels) intended for children... which in fairness, we were. Well that, and one step up is five times the cost. At some point many years after, I found this place. I was excited to try my hands at archery once again. Even though this place is a little out of the way, I still venture out here when I want to have a go of being a sort of Robin Hood, only one who is not nearly as good of a shot. I. Cost - Their rates are extremely reasonable for what you get. Shooting on the range is $12/hour if you bring your own equipment, and only $14 to borrow theirs. This cost includes instruction too! This is not a private lesson, but they will help you along the way with stance, aim, draw, and other such basics. II. Staff - their staff are some of the nicest, most patient people I have met! Whether they are telling you the 1st time or 101st time to bring your hand to your ear, they are just as patient and calm. Also, during my time shooting, adjusting the draw weight (on the compound) as well as the sight to my ideal levels was a non issue. III. Range - The range is pretty nice! It is well lit, fairly spacious, and they have targets at two different distances, although, I couldn't tell you what they are. I can however tell that the shorter distance is great for beginners... not so far that it becomes discouraging, but close enough that it is fairly challenging. When you are shooting, do be careful of obstacles like pipes or columns... but if you stay in your lane, you should be fine. IV. Equipment - Out of the bows you are able to rent there are recurves (think Robin Hood) and Compound bows (with wheels). I am fond of the latter, but must say the Genesis bow (make of compound) is not my favorite thing in the world. The reason for this is (don't quote me on this) compounds have a let off in weight when fully drawn. The Genesis bows do not (at least not a very significant one). I will not penalize this place for that because these are fairly cheap (~$100), durable, easily adjustable, and according to online markets a great entry level bow for people of all ages. When it comes to equipment, think of it in parallel with bowling . If you are just there to bowl for a bit of fun, you have entry level equipment (balls, shoes) that are durable, and good for those who don't take the sport too seriously. Same thing here, the bows and arm-guards aren't spectacular, and there is no mechanical release provided. If you come to shoot for an hour for fun, you probably don't care that much. As for me, I'd like to keep it casual for now... but even if I end up taking archery more seriously, I will not hesitate at returning to this place to practice!

I want you, dear reader, to imagine being a child in the late 2000s. Smart Phones aren't quite…read moreaccessible yet, so you have no means of entertainment aside from what's in front of you. You are a younger (or youngest) sibling of a one parent household and your parent does not trust you to be alone. Your sibling is invited to a group event but has to drag you along because of this. "This is not how I chose to spend my day, but I will try to make the most of it." You naively think. This Paintball thing sounds kind of fun after all, you've been playing shooters on and off and think it'd be fun to do this in real life. You have to wait the whole drive there because, again, you have no phone to run games on (or at least, not any worth playing) You get to the venue and you are introduced to a few people and given your equipment, noticing the different paintguns available. One of these guns is fed from the top, the other is fed from the back. Both of these are gas-powered, so you don't think much of it to start. You are given some protective gear and get into the first match. You look at your weapon, ready to finally do something. You pull the trigger... Nothing. No click, no round fired, nothing. You, in your adolescent mind, try inspecting the gun to see if there's an easy fix. It's a closed system, so there's nothing you can do. You find a referee and tell them your weapon is broken, and are brought to where the other weapons are. You hand in your defective paintgun, and are sat out for the next half hour doing. absolutely. nothing. Next round starts, you are handed a new (but very similar) paintgun. You test it with a trigger pull... Again, Nothing. You find another referee and turn in the gun but then ask if you can have one of those top-fed rifles. Surely that one won't break, right? "That's for paying customers." You just got handed two broken paintguns in a group activity and are told the models that probably do work are not allowed to you because you are a guest. You're shit out of luck, wait for round 3. Pull the trigger... IT FIRES! Maybe a bit too fast, you figure, but it at least works! You are directed to your starting spot, the whistle is blown, and you peek out of cover. You begin firing on where you think someone is, not actually sure but figure you can lay down some suppressing fire! EXCEPT... A referee approaches, sees you firing full auto, and forbids you from firing again, saying the gun is broken. You are forced to, for a third time in a row, sit out the rest of the match. You'd rather be home playing on the Xbox, this trip has been a colossal waste of your time. There's one more round at least... Broken, again. No firing. You just sit there, behind a tree, on a sweaty summer day, for thirty minutes, because you have completely given up on the staff here. No one will help you, and the equipment that actually works is not being given to you because you "aren't a paying customer." This is my only experience with Paintball. Three guns that jammed, and a fourth that had me immediately disqualified. Only a decade later do I realize how completely unjust this was and come on Yelp to leave a black mark on this website like they left a black paintball on my heart.

We were invited to play as an end of hockey season party from my son's coach. Originally it was going to be my son and husband (when you're 46 you don't recover from a paintball hit like you did in your 20's lol). Let me tell you this place has paintball down to a science!!!! The barn manager, Julie, wouldn't even talk to her and let her know. She sent me a text letting me know my daughter was no longer in the program. Very heartbreaking for my daughter. This is a great place to learn to ride!…read more I started lessons at Reevedale with Katie a few weeks ago, after buying their Groupon deal. Groupon, as we all know, is a little bit touch and go, both for business owners and for consumers. There were a bunch of barns offering Groupons, I picked Reevedale because they offer both hunt and saddle seat. I rode Western a little as a kid, and have always been curious about other disciplines; I doubt I'm brave enough to get into eventing, which I'd always daydreamed about, but I know I'd love to ride gaited horses! I was a little nervous that the barn might be snobby, as can sometimes be the case, but I decided to let go of the nerves, check my ego at the door, and get in there and learn to ride. In the end, it's all about your expectations. Ultimately, I was looking for a good atmosphere, where my incompetence on horseback could be kindly corrected by both horse and instructor, with the eventual hope of being able to properly communicate with a horse while on it's back. What I found at Reevedale was a warm, friendly environment. The horses are happy, well-trained and well-treated, and they're kind enough to put up with me as I learn to use my weight, legs and hands to ask them to do different things. Katie doesn't yell, she speaks up and gives clear instruction when she sees you slipping out of form, something even a seasoned rider will do when they're tired, or out of shape, and something that a beginner like me is going to do in an attempt to keep my balance! She looks out for me, keeps me safe and upright, and lets me know when I should move my legs up, or back, or when it looks like I'm ready to try something new. They've got an indoor area, so this doesn't have to be a spring-time only hobby for me, which is great because I need a reason to get out and be active in the winter time! In short, this is a place that I could see myself getting some really valuable instruction, and memorable equine face time! If you're looking to get into equestrian sports, or if you'd like to find a nice place to send your kids to learn, I highly recommend Reevedale Farm!
