I don't know much about the family history of this jewel of an authentic taco shop. Growing up eating from taco trucks as it was convenient and affordable for a struggling family, this spot brings back the memories. The business started as a taco truck which eventually led to the opening of a sit down restaurant and patio. There are so many options and I can tell you, each tastes as authentic as the recipes from my own Abuela and Mama's. I had the Asada and lengua tacos. Tortillas were soft and flavorful. Meat cooked perfectly. The green salsa is perfect. I also had a lengua burrito and chicharon tacos. Amazing! Definitely the best I have had in Washington...coming from a Cali boy. I don't know whether it's good or not. I REALLY wanted to try it, but the first tine I drove up here I had lost my debit card and they don't accept credit cards, and the second time I showed up at 12 pm to a vacant lot even though Google says they're open at 11, and last time I came they were open at this time. Stopped by here for lunch the other day. I ordered 3 Carne Asada tacos and a chicken tamale. The tacos were delicious, the tortillas had just the right amount of heat to them so the outer edges were a little hard. The two sauces were hot but the jarritos made it worth it. To me the amount of masa/chicken ratio in the tamale was a little off. But I would certainly return to try other items on the menu. As taco trucks go, this is my least favorite in Skagit and Whatcom counties. A few months ago we stopped at the Burlington location and ordered a couple of taco plates. Ho hum, and poor quality meat. Decided we wouldn't go back. Today we stopped at the Mount Vernon location, not realizing it was the same outfit. Ordered 2 burritos, one chicken and one asada. For $7 they were tiny. And the asada was nothing but grizzle and tasteless. I had to spit one bite out. I like most taco trucks, but am usually in Bellingham, where Tacos el Tule rocks. I liked this place better when it was just a taco truck. They've grown too fast In their new building and are unable to keep up with the pace. It's now a super gathering for families (which is nice), but also a drooling fest for men, with all the pretty little waitresses. The last time we went there it took them 30 minutes to make 6 tacos! Then when we got our tacos, they looked like someone threw a slam dunk from across the room, the way they were assembled, and they were cold. The owners have so many people working there now, but none of them seem to know what's going on. While I waited those 30 minutes, I watched several to-go orders go to the wrong people, food made improperly and sent back. It was pretty dirty around the tables and floors, they were definitely not getting cleaned between customers. Then, the last straw, I watched one of the kitchen workers go to the restroom and come out without washing his hands still zipping up his pants. Ew. There are so many other awesome taco/burrito options available in the Skagit area. We'll take our business there. read more

Excellent tacos! 4 tacos for 5 dollars. The burritos are large and filling. Hot sauce is hot, but tastes great. It is nice to go here and still have money in my wallet when I leave. It is a little hard to find as it is set back off of Willow Lane, but if you look behind the stores to the north side of the street off of the main road, it is clearly visible. I was amazed at how there was a constant flow of customers. We will be back! read more

Love this Taco Truck!!! I have only tried their Carne Asada tacos . Their salsa verde is very spicy so don't use too much, if you do, have a drink handy. I could eat their Carne Asada tacos everyday. They do accept credit cards but with a .50 cents fee. Their drinks are not very cold. They have a place to sit with picnic tables. My hubby lived in Mexico and this is his second favorite street truck the first one in Wenatchee ! Try a few dishes you'll find your favorite quickly. Ask for extra hot peppers! This Taco Truck is hidden behind Smoke Plus and across and down the street from Ace. The owners don't speak much English which is usually a good sign. I've eaten here several times over the past 2 years and their food is consistently good and priced right at $1.25 a taco. They have a lot of variety for a taco truck on their menu and big glossy photos of what you're about to eat. Yes indeed, the meals really do look like the pictures. I prefer beef tacos but the pork and tongue are also very good here. All the meat seems to be well marinated and I suggest you take a bite before adding their very good salsa. I've eaten here a few times. I've had the Asada burrito a few times, and four Asada tacos. The food is good and prices good, but the burrito isn't as big as other reviewers seem to imply. I miss Huitron's taco truck in Sedro Woolley which was the same price, but larger portions and a bit tastier. I can't find his truck anymore. read more

I thought I had the best Mexican food I've ever had in Cali and Vegas, then I stumbled on this little gem. Bar none, best food I've ever eaten. Food came out in a timely manner, and it was constantly phenomenal. I routinely got 8 asada tacos and was never let down.
