Barria taco

This is one of the food trucks that are parked in New Haven next to the water. Went to IKEA for some shopping and decided to check this area out. I had ordered the esquites. Which is Mexican street corn but already cut off the cob. It was good but, didbt give me that childhood memory of your first authentic street corn. It was probably because it was cut up. Not sure. To me it was soupy and a little too spicy. I also had the chicken tostadas. That was good. Then again there is a but. Not really sure what it was. Maybe the chicken. I probably should of gotten the beef. Also, ordered the chicken pinchos. You didn't get the smokiness you normally would from a pincho. The food was good but, could have been better. I definitely will try them out again to give a second review.

3.5 stars - Friendly & quick service! My boyfriend and I split the birria and al pastor tacos ($3 each) and both were decent. The al pastor was definitely more flavorful than the birria. I would probably recommend skipping the birria for something else. Salsas were surprisingly spicy & packed a punch.

Pork taco.

Their birria is amazing and the consommé is the most flavorful I've ever had.

It's a really good restaurant and the ambiance does bring you to the south west part of America…read morewith all the frame indigenous pictures. The food fits the theme really well. Great tequila program with good cocktails. It's not my first time here but I came here this time to lunch. Here is what I thought: Table side Guacamole is a must especially if you are with a group. The portion is bigger than you think so it's a bit much for 2 people and better for 3+. When they ask if you want it spicy, I personally don't think they go that heavy. If you can handle the heat, spicy really won't knock your socks off. The hamburger is good. Standard and safe. Not much more I need to say about it. Tacos are good and the portion is decent. Not the best I had in the Connecticut and average if you are in the south west. It hits if you miss the flavor profile and really crave it. Hatch Green Chili Stew is really good. Hatch green chili isn't that spicy and gives a Smokey sweeter aroma compared to other peppers. This might be the best thing I had on the menu in terms of food. It was my birthday so I order the Fistful of Dollars for a drink. I enjoyed it for a tequila based cocktail but not sure if I would normally spend that much on a single drink moving forward. Drinks and decor is what makes this restaurant stand out. If you are out on a Friday night or the weekend, I do think this is a great restaurant to get your tequila in because it's one of the best tequila programs I seen in awhile.

We were sharing stories with classmates on reunion weekend. There was a line across the street but…read morenone here.....for good reason. The restaurant is loud and becomes a tequila shot bar in the evening. But, there are only two dirty, unisex bathrooms. The oversized, overweight, over aggressive bouncers enforce a time limit in the bathrooms...with vigor. We saw someone complain about the bouncer's and pounding on the door get tossed.....physically. YES, THIS BAR EMPLOYEES PHYSICALLY ABUSIVE BOUNCERS! Best for any decent person to avoid this hole and tell your student kids to stay away. We considered calling the cops but didn't want to miss the quality time and events with classmates elsewhere as it was our 25th REUNION! Way to improve the neighborhood, New Haven! Anyone with common sense should stay away from Geronimo's violence-provoking Tequila Bar.

I've been to Te Amo Tequila Bar & Taco more than 10 times, and I still love it every single visit…read more I've come for happy hour, brunch, and dinner and I honestly have zero complaints. It's always a vibe. Most recently, I stopped by with a coworker for drinks and to catch up. Around 9ish, a DJ came in and started playing fun music, which took the energy up another level. It turned into the perfect mix of relaxed and lively. And let's talk about the drinks their spicy guava margarita is still my absolute favorite. It's the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and refreshing. If you're looking for good food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere that never disappoints, this is the spot. I'll definitely keep coming back.

But when I try to explain to people that the way ingredients fall on a plate of nachos actually matters, people look at me like I'm nuts. Look at this. One look and you know the bottom layer is doomed. They were generous with the cheese, it even seeped through the bottom layer, but then they exiled the cilantro (why is it even on there?) to one side like it's trapped behind a mountain range. Then you got the salsa, sour cream and guac in plastic containers forming an aggressive and completely unnecessary alliance on its border. Why put plastic containers on top of the food to begin with. Im not being crazy, this is physics. None of the ingredients tasted like real food anyway. I don't know where New Haven gets its produce but it all tastes like it was 3D printed. All else: waitresses were incredibly sweet. music was incredibly annoying.
