Yelp to the rescue again! As with another yelper, I also grew up in Southern California, and spent half my life there. And then spent another 15 in Texas, and ate my way all over the Southwest. Get there early - when I arrived at 7, they were out of carne asada and picodillo. I ended up getting the taco dinner with carnitas. It ended up being a very good choice; most times I get carnitas, the meat is fatty and too chewy for my taste. These carnitas were lean, and muy delicioso. My heart skipped a beat when I saw they had elotes (Mexican corn). It's just as good as what I would get at 2 am at Fuel City in Dallas. I also got a couple churros for the road (my plan was to dip them in a Culver's concrete mixer, but they didn't make it that far). The churros were fresh out of the fryer, nice and hot and crunchy. I was too full to try the tamales. Maybe next time. They now accept credit cards with a minimum purchase of $5. Joliet is lucky to have this place. You will never look at Taco Bell the same. It's kind of difficult to get to it, just follow the US 52 signs. It's worth the drive. read more

Absolutely the best tacos around. Their menu is small, but what they do put out is top notch. A MUST try little place. read more

Best taco seasoning in joliet area for tacos!!! Never disappointed here with food. My favorite go to place for tacos. Haven't tried their burrito yet because everytime I go here I can't stop ordering tacos and then I'm full. I must try other things next time. Only thing I can complain about is that they are closed on Sunday!?!?! What??? Why would you close on Sunday dude? Lol read more

"Live everyday like it's Taco Tuesday!" It's extremely hard to miss this place - TACOS R US in bright lights leads you to yummy authentic tasting tacos. They don't skimp on meat or toppings here. Prices are cheap, but hours are few if you're prowling for tacos past 8pm and all day Sunday. Be sure to speak loudly to the order taker as there is ranchera blasting from the speakers. I've had the pleasure of enjoying the pastor tacos and elotes - both were delicious enough to lure me back to try more of the menu - because a balanced diet is a taco in each hand! read more

Just passing through and got a couple of steak tacos. They were incredible!! Great flavor and fresh ingredients! I will be back!!

You know when you roll up on a taco place and the smell of flower hits you in the face from the kitchen , you're about to get some bomb ass food. Wish it was easier to pull in and out of the parking lot, but the food is worth it. read more

Small little place in the middle of nowhere. Hard to get to even though its off of I-80 WB & Center st. But ...... its worth it!!! Why? Let me tell you. New building, unique storefront look of the Taco truck. They offer a large variety of tacos. FRESH is the word here! Fresh smiling faces in the order and serving window, fresh ingredients, Fresh ideas- as I had the original style tacos with fresh cilantro and red onions. I had Al pastor, Carne Asada, and Lengua. Fantastic flavors and also served with lime slices in the tacos, a nice touch. I also had the Mexican coca cola. Yum yum! It has real sugar in it but not too sweet. Plenty of other interesting choices that Ill be back for! Prices are cheap here. Just kind of a fun place at a busy corner by the train tracks in the middle of nowhere. I think you should find urself , nowhere! Smile! You'll like it! read more

Worst elostes ever. It was corn soup with no pepper. Nothing resembles elotes. Oo nm it had corn.

Fresh, authentic, cash-only. What more could you want? Cash-only establishments are the sign of a hidden gem, and this place is no exception to the rule. It's hard to go wrong here. From the elote (easy 5/5) to the burritos, you're bound to have a good time at Tacos R Us. The service is quick and the people were friendly. Within minutes of placing your order at the window, you'll be holding some of the best Mexican this side of Rt. 52. Plus, the prices can't be beat. The combination of high-quality food and low prices gives this place a 5/5. Just be sure to have some cash on-hand...and a place to eat after you get your food. read more

Tacos R Us - Steak taco dinner (corn) for $5.48! - Tacos Near Me - Joliet, Illinois

Great food. Terrible service. 5 different instances or more of forgotten food and awful customer service. The food tastes great if you don't get sick of the poor way they treat you. read more

Awesome food. Salsa is fantastic. Quick and friendly service. The steak tacos are my go to but everything we've had has been great.

Great food when my company started ordering from here weekly a few months ago. The quality started going downhill fast, everything started becoming either super greasy and under cooked, or burnt to a crisp. Almost always, something was missing from the orders or the order was grossly incorrect. It was usually something small so we never tried to recoup any money or go back to get the item since the place is about 4 miles away. The most recent trip involved a whole plate of tacos missing, and that was the last straw. Tried calling to remedy the issue, no answer at any time during the day (tried numerous times at different hours). On the website it says to email them, did that, never got a response. Showed up the next day to inform them of their mistake with the receipt, they claimed complete ignorance over a few bucks. I hope they miss the $50+ we spent there at least once a week, because we are never going back due to declining food quality and terrible customer service. Back to El Comal it is! read more

We found this place coming back from Chicago. And wow!! These tacos are soooo good. My husband ordered a Jarritos and I got a horchata. The horchata was super tasty. The tacos were on the smaller size. (Street tacos). The salsa was delicious. It definitely hit the spot. And in case you were wondering, it's not a sit down restaurant. You order and pick up through a window. Super fast service. read more

Some of the best steak tacos around. Outstanding salsa to top them off, along with a most reasonable $5 dinner (3 tacos + Rice/Beans). Great Elotes. read more

Quality went down, very greasy. The last two visits there in the past month were disappointing. Not going back for awhile.

Ordered steak burritos for the whole family the other week and they were BOMB! Always love the food from this place and my whole family enjoys! Whenever I'm in Joliet and too lazy to cook I'll hit them up and we're always satisfied lol read more

They have decent and cheap food, but almost every time I go, something is wrong with my order. Toppings forgotten or incorrect. Their customer service is slacking as well. When I ask about getting an order replaced, nobody seems to know what I'm talking about. I'll keep going back, but only because the food is decent and cheap. read more

Some of the best tacos in joliet. Can't beat the prices either. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants good old fashioned Mexican food. read more

This lil taco truck has the best Mexican food in our area of new lenox and joliet illinois , you must try this place , carry out only !

This is a true treasure. Unique setting...combine a food truck and a building and what do you get? Tacos R Us. Then add some of the best tacos you'll ever eat. Mexican corn in a cup.....cheesy...spicy. Nummy good!! If I had four thumbs, they'd all be "up" read more

This has to be one of the cutest taco joints I've visited. The front of the stand looks jyst like a taco food truck, but peeking through the order window it's a full serve kitchen (not opened to the public). They offer tacos, burritos, tortas, and Mexican style corn. After placing your order, they will call your number over the intercom where you pick it up from the "pick up" window. When I had parked here, everyone was eating in their car , I thought it must be that good they can't wait until they get home to eat. Well it is that and the fact that there is no seating, it's winter so maybe in the summer (I'm not a local). I had the steak burrito and it was seasoned well. The salsa that out comes accompanied with was good also. My child had the steak tacos and thought they were very tasty and appreciate that the fat was trimmed. read more

Best Tacos I've tasted in my life, still dreaming about them , so thankful I was introduced to them! I don't think I'll find another taco place like this! Love the scenery, the outside sitting, chilling and eating! Looks like a taco truck but it's a restaurant! Whoever thought of this, was a genius! read more

Prices double up from one day to another, got the taco dinner and was 10.50 with tax, chicken was ok but steak was terrible;really cheap meat and super small tacos, rice wasn't good and gave me just one small sauce that's just enough for one taco, for another buck I can get a good taco dinner double in size in the burrito loco and three sauces;not coming back. read more

Oh my god! These steak tacos are heaven! Everything is so delicious!!!! Even my boyfriend is making noises while eating because everything is so good. And he doesn't even like tacos! I'm so pleased thank you tacos r us for making my boyfriend love tacos again! Now it's taco Tuesday everyday for me :)))) read more

Excellent tacos, great prices! Hubby got 3 steak tacos with everything (tomatoes, cheese, onions, cilantro &salsa) and I got 2 steak tacos traditional (cilantro & onions). So fresh and so tasty! $3 for a giant bag of chips and large cup of salsa. Only bummer was that I ordered rice but got frijoles instead. But as you can see from the pic we got tons of food for $13! A little out of the way but totally worth it. read more

Really really really good tacos and it's less of a hassle than going to the East side from West Joliet to get a decent taco! Their hours are janky so I call my order ahead to make sure they're open read more

I ordered 4 Asada tacos and 1 Carnita These tacos are beyond over priced and under flavored. The woman who took my order had an attitude the whole time. And when I asked for chile she told me they don't have any but on my receipt it clearly states "salsa on the side" and when you go to their website it clearly shows Chile on the picture of the tacos. My tacos look like ground beef and taste like ground beef. My limes are dried up and I'm not happy at all. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I went here seeing they had a 4 star rating and I'm just confused as to how? Attitude was given to me, nasty half ass tacos were sold to me and mind you I paid $26 for 5 tacos and 2 sides of rice when I can go somewhere closer with real authentic tacos and pay less for better. Casa Blanca is where it's at not here. read more

Very fresh tacos. Had them for dinner tonight. Also elota was good! I will definitely be going back next time I want steak tacos!

I've only had their tacos and burritos, but these were excellent. Good prices. Now if only they had a sheltered area or drive through! The taco truck skin for ordering in an interesting feature, and it's a bit of an odd location, but worth going out of your way just for the tacos. read more

Love the steak tacos. Wish they were open later and had guacamole! Inexpensive. Must try!!

Burritos are fantastic! The tacos are not seasoned well. Which is something I will never understand. The grilled onions are superb. The lettuce and tomatoes are always fresh and cruchy without bruise which is a plus. read more

We haven't had fresher, tastier food anywhere! This is a terrific place! Great food, nice people, great prices. Very authenic!

First off, I'm actually kind of surprised Toys R Us hasn't sent them a cease and desist letter yet. But, I imagine it'll come soon and this place will have a different name. Also, this place is a pain in the butt to get out of the parking lot going West anytime between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. The reason this place doesn't get more than 3 stars is because all the food, except the tacos, just isn't very good. The tamales are extremely disappointing and their tortas are just... so-so. But! Their tacos are very good. Not as good as some, but for the price there's really no competition. read more

I finally made it down here the other day for lunch! Great menu & cheap prices! I have the $5 steak taco dinner it came with 3 tacos & beans & rice & all the fixings on the tacos.
