Tacos Nayarit is a cute little spot where the flavors, traditions and culture bring together this perfect meal. I went with the birria quesadilla and it was amazing! The birria was perfection, the consome was perfection and I got a mango aqua Fresca which was good as well- my husband got the same meal but went with the guayaba (guava) aqua Fresca which was fabulous literally so good. I was a bit overwhelmed as a newbie and I will say it is hard to see the menu when you are there and you have to order before you're even in view of the menu, but you can't go wrong with the Birra tacos! First time visiting did not disappoint! The line was long but moved relatively quickly. Setup is similar to Chipotle where you order your meal and toppings going down the line then pay at the register. We ordered a variety since we don't go to NE cola often. The chicken Gordita was just okay, the chicken had SO much sauce and flavor but it was dry. Fish taco on flour had a nice "crust" from the flattop and was perfectly seasoned. Tacos Nayarit was really good! It's definitely not your typical Mexican restaurant, which makes for a unique experience. Tacos Nayarit is like Moe's on steroids, where they make your food in front of you, but with better ingredients and a much more authentic Mexican feel. My cheese quesadilla and tacos were great, and of much higher quality than the ones you get at your typical Mexican restaurant. The one minor complaint I have, which prevents me from giving a fifth star, is that all of the tables were pretty nasty, making it hard to find a place to sit and eat. I understand that the staff was really busy, but it would've been nice if one person would've taken the time to wipe the tables down. I have been coming to this spot for a really long time. The tacos, chalupas, nachos, and quesadillas are absolutely delicious. I have loved to witness their growth! The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are decent, considering the times. Also, they are going to charge you for every single thing extra. Customer service is standard. An unexpected discovery. After realizing the Korean restaurant was closed, I searched and found Tacos Nayarit. The line was a sign of the potential of the restaurant. Per the recommendation, I ordered the street tacos with steak and taco Burris's which became my lunch the next day. I also ordered a mango drink, but it tasted more like a mango nectar from the containers. The tacos were delicious. The birria taster even better the next day. What a hidden gem and a great place for excellent mexican cuisine! I found this place on Yelp (like normal) and the reviews came through again. We arrived and immediately noticed a long line up to the door. It was so packed, we waited a few minutes before entering the restaurant. It took a while, but we finally made it up to the ordering area. The ordering went smoothly once we got to the ordering area (after 15-20 minutes of waiting). After ordering you tell them what you want on your food such as guacamole, corn, cilantro, etc. similar to Moes. Then, you go to the end of the line and pay for it. We ordered a few orders of Birria tacos and regular tacos. they were very delicious! For drinks, we ordered horchata and a Mango drink, which were all very tasty! How in the world did I miss this Yum Yum close to Ft Jackson, SC! Ive had this on my foodie list for sometime, SMH. We visited on rainy windy day and they line was still out the door. Parking is tight, so keep that in mind, we parked in a closed business next door. They where really busy but the line went fast. Went into the location on Monday evening. Not too busy. Subway style food ordering but not when you order Birria tacos. They were good. I thought the tacos were over priced; 3 tacos are $13 + tax. But after calling some other local spots and some out of state, there are places that are selling birra tacos for more. I'm gonna give them 5 stars because everyone in Columbia raves about this place and I have no doubt they have amazing food, but I just didn't have a great experience with my food. My bf took his daughters to get food and I ordered a chicken bowl. When they got home, my order was forgotten. He said when the lady gave him the bags, he asked if this was everything and she said yes. He said he would go back and get it and when he did get it and brought it back, it had to have been at least 1.5-2 hrs since. When he came back, he said the bag was sitting there. By the time I got it, it was cold, and mind you I had lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, sour cream and cheese in it, so it was so watered down. I did attempt to heat it up, but it was nasty. All I could do was drain it out and eat the chicken because I didn't want to waste it. I'll definitely go back to try it again because I'm sure it would have been good fresh and hot but for my first experience, it was not good at all. My baby said she loves their birria tacos so I'll try that next time. read more

Finally took the plunge and tried Tacos Nayarit out. I was surprised to hear they are opening a second location soon in Lexington, which now that I know is awesome news! The Percival road location is nice, parking can be a bit tenuous depending on time. There was a fairly large line, it was difficult to see the menu at the point you place the order. It was very cool to see the assembly line and employees that actually hand form tortillas that goe straight onto the black stone grill. All the employees seemed to have a very good working relationship for tight quarters and lots of orders. As for the food: For my first of what I can only describe as many visits to come/ I had the 3 birria queso tacos and a shredded chicken burrito. I am somewhat of a birria snob, so please take the next comments with a grain of salt. If you don't know you don't know... The birria queso tacos were well grilled and had the perfect consistency that I make at home. The meat was tender and juicy. The cheese was great. The spice that birria should have was not there like it should be. No hint of guajillo or pasilla chiles, no color that should have been there from the emulsion of said ingredients I am accustomed to. That's not to say it was bad by any means, but if you want spice add salsa from their salsa bar. The consomé was good and plentiful, and the salsa verde added a good kick to the spice. I also decided to go full on fat and order a burrito. Now let's talk shredded chicken burritos.. I was VERY impressed with the flavor and consistency of the shredded chicken burrito. I chose refried beans and rice, guacamole (which was awesome), pico, cilantro and onions and the shredded chicken obviously... I was blown away by the flavor of it all on the whole.. far better quality and flavor of food and portions than one gets at those corporate chains. I will absolutely be returning to try out more flavors and selections on their menu, and look forward to their Lexington location opening... However they could take birria to the level it deserves with its own selection of meat prepared as it should be. read more
