First let me explain something about tacos de cabeza al vapor in Mexico: this type of tacos are consumed and consider a breakfast meal. Yes you eat this in the morning and thats why you see this joints open so early and close so early(most of the time they run out). For this reason i make it my mission to not cross the border anything later than 10 am. You have a couple of options in this wonderful and humble establishment. Cabeza(cheek, cows head beef, sounds weird but truly delicious) and Lengua(beef tongue), as well as conzome(the broth the meat is cooked in with cilantro and onion). The cabeza is would say is better than the lengua. It never disappoints and always full of flavor. They load up each taco and i believe its $15 pesos per taco, i never ask for price i just order and pay after I'm done ;-). And no I'm not worried, these are the mist humble and respectful family you will meet. Aside from the meat their tortillas are unique and quite good. They are different and you will not know what I'm saying until you try a taco. I usually get 4 or 5 tacos and a consome. I prefer the red salsa as it the spiciest and has the most flavor. We ordered the Vampiro with papas (285 pesos), a carne asada taco (40 pesos), and a quesadilla with carne (70 pesos) and 2, 12-ounce Mexican Cokes (60 pesos). Altogether, we spent $22.22 for lunch. We noticed on this trip that Rocky Point prices were very similar to what we were spending in the United States. This place is very clean and we sat at the inside dining. Note: they only take cash here, DO NOT order assuming you can use a debit card. They are generous with the topping tray, which includes: lettuce, 2 salsa, an avocado sauce, limes, and cucumbers. To be honest, these are large portions and we would have been full with just the Vampiro with potatoes. The Cokes with real cane sugar are always better than our American ones with high fructose corn syrup. A small portion of the beef was a little grisly with fat. The taste of the shrimp was delicious and not overly breaded or rubbery as can be the case when they are overcooked.
