The Asada was second best experience to the Horchata and that was also just "ok". $30 for a burrito, taco, regular horchata and a can of Diet Coke. Props to the lady who apparently hurt her ankle who was still at work. But I'm sorry, just doesn't make up for the lack of quality. Small burrito, meat was the only flavored thing in it. Too much sour cream, the guac was very less and towards the bottom and wasn't even really guac. Just chunks of avocado. Fries were soggy, asked for them extra crispy and didn't get them that way lol. Tortilla was even undercooked a little. The al pastor taco was something else entirely lol. It had a nice flavor at first, then just completely turned into a mushy pork taco. No real flavor of al pastor, just salty then bland. Lemon helped a little and the tortilla itself was nice. But i would definitely skip the pastor. Salsas were great. The green salsa had a nice kick to it, cups sizes were nice and they gave the amount i asked for. Overall its gonna be a pass for me again. I placed my order through Uber Eats, 1st time ordering with this restaurant. Initially I was VERY disappointed to receive my order with no salsa. Despite when you order from the app it over asks you about which salsa you want PER ITEM. So receiving no salsa I have to say I was very upset. For me eating your food without salsa is like eating a pancake without syrup! You loose half your flavor & it doesn't hit the same. Luckily I had some decent bottled salsa on hand. I ordered the crunchy tacos with carne asada which were pretty good, but the asada was pretty similar to ground beef which I initially thought I'd received, but after a few bites I saw what resembled chopped asada. The 5 ingredient burrito I only took a few bites of because again the lack of salsa was just super disappointing. Same situation with the meat resembling ground beef. The flour tortilla & whole beans were good. But I can't say much more about it. The flan was not restaurant made & was ok, fixed my sweet tooth craving. First of all, the food was great! I loved the pozole and the California burrito was a must! Ultimately, my partner and I give this place a two star just because service could have been different. Without going into too much details about the young lady with AirPods the whole time and indifferent attitude, we believe in the benefit of doubt and hope that next time she gives a more welcoming energy. She also gave us a togo container for our soup that was damaged at the top so most of our pozole spilled but we take accountability for that on our end, for we could have asked for a new one but frankly, I was very anxious and hesitant to ask anything more from her. I went in recently during my break. The staff was doing change of shift during the lunch rush hour. Worst timing ever for someone to be doing change of shift. The girl that was clocking in was too busy with her daughter trying to set up something on her tablet instead of taking our orders. There was a line behind me. This was my first time trying this restaurant. I called in my order and was informed that because they were behind, my order would take 20-30 min. That was no problem, I told her I can wait no worries. I ordered asada tacos who came with leather-like tortillas (because they sat for so long!), a sub par asada burrito and a asada torta whose bread crumbled apart (again from sitting there) and the meat tough, chewy, dry and had gristle. I should've walked out and recognized their lack of greeting and looking at me like I interrupted something as a red flag. Save your money. My advice, care about people and you'll care about the food you serve them. Restaurants are one of the first places to gain loyalty if they just put some care into it. So we went here after church and I had the Chilaquiles with green sauce. This is literally the first time I have ever had this dish and the fried tortillas were fresh and still crunchy, not soggy like most places as if they have been made and sat there for hours. I ordered a bowl of albondigas to go. When I opened the container it was filled with with about an inch of oil or grease and had not been strained at all. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried to remove as much as possible. Once I took a bite of the albondiga is had an old flavor like it had been frozen a few times. The food was excellent! We were hungry so no picture. I had a beef taco and it was flavorful; I also had a chimichanga dinner plate and it had so much shredded beef inside. i had to pick up an order for a customer, i arrived at the establishment and they were still getting it together and at the same time they were finishing up cooking the last plate. the young lady at front counter was bagging three plates in one bag which causes plates to get smashed down when tying the plastic bags, stacking three plates in one bag also doesn't help because since they are so high up at the time of driving they shift with the car and the food get tossed around and or it spills if it contains any kind of broth. it is harder to handle the bags when they are so stuffed with plates condiments utensils to the top and trying to deliver the products in a good presentation. they were going to give me 4 plates in total, so i asked the young lady if she could put one of the plates in the second bag since she was going to use a second bag. well she hesitated on doing what i asked her and continued bagging the 3 plates in one bag. at the same time i was telling her my explanation as to why i was requesting to separate one plate and put it inside the second bag since she was going to give me to two bags. as i was having this conversation with the young lady, the cook (cheli) came over and got involved with the conversation by asking the young lady ( i awsome because they were speaking in a low voice) and the cook ( cheli) then looked at me and proceeded to said the the bag could be closed fine with a strict medium pitch voice. i tried telling her (cheli) as to why i would like 2 plates in each bag but she (cheli) decided to ignore me as i was speaking to her and walked away with an attitude. i then asked her if she had listened to what i just told her and she (cheli) turned around with a angry looking attitude face looked at straight in the eyes and proceeded to tell me " i'm busy" with a high pitch angry voice as if she was talking to her husband or a member of her family. i kept my eyes on her all this time didn't say anything to her because i did not want to say anything to her that might escalate the situation. this service that i received in this particular establishment shows the type of staff they have working. the situation shows me the staff does not care how the food arrives to their customers when a third party delivers their products. also why is the staff not doing their own particular job instead of being nosy and bringing in their opinion when it is not asked. i was asking for a simple request that was not out of their job duties. i tried reaching out to the owner by calling this particular establishment but the kept on giving the run a round until i called the cypress establishment and i was able to get the owners number. i called the number they gave me but i was unsuccessful. if i can give a negative rating i would because this service was uncalled for in all aspects. read more
