Good, lots of meat, not a lot of gristle so that's a win in my book. We took both the red and green salsas with us and both were delicious. The menu is pretty sizable (literally and physically)! The classic Percheron is diezmillo steak, mozzarella, avocado, tomato, onion, mayo, wrapped in a flour tortilla and bacon! $15. I was behind two parties of two and my food took 15 minutes. I opted to take the food to go, since it was 9:45 pm. Thats always a risk because the food might not be as fresh as when it's freshly served. The woman ahead of me asked for well done crispy bacon wrap. I should have done the same, but I wanted to try it the standard way first. I really wanted to love this, but the standard soggy bacon wrap is not my thing. My stomach could not cope with the grease either -- this looks like pretty low quality bacon that is mostly fat. I was pretty disappointed and only finished half!

He is coming to town Tuesday and he wants to hit El Herradero Carnicera before I take him home. 30 years ago I was in some rural village outside Merida where I got the best chicken I have ever ate. It was simple, just beans, rice, and chicken. That chicken was marinaded in some kind of red sauce and the meat was so tender with a perfect balance of spice. I bought some El Herradero marinated chicken both the red and yellow (I am that Caucasian guy). I grilled their chicken to perfection and am not sure if the red or yellow one is the best chicken I have ever ate. One bite gives me an emotional response. If you like Mexican style meats, this is the place to go in Green Valley. Definitely pick up a couple Rib Eyes and marinated chicken breasts. And be prepared to be AMAZED. Thank you El Herradero. It's two corn tortillas with melted cheese and meat in between. "Mixta" meant a variety of different meats. Because corn tortillas are generally smaller than flour, it was smaller than a typical quesadilla or caramelo. But it was tasty. They have a good salsa and veggie bar. It's a very casual place, one large room, no table service. My friends were happy with their birria. Prices are reasonable. My lunch came to just $10.15 including tax and tip. The meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and it tasted delicious with the simple salt and pepper flavor that really lets the meat shine! I was happy to see that they still have the covered seating area with a few tables, should you wanna sit in there. They also have another seating area right in front of the food truck. There is a menu you can order from white right by the window, as well as a larger menu on the fence I actually really love this place, my only gripe is the lack of transparent prices (I'll get to that.) Anyway, the service was stellar! When I was trying to decide what to order, the guy manning the orders simply offered me samples of the meats! It was so kind, and actually really helpful. They are all so so good. You really can't go wrong. I ended up getting three tacos and a burrito (because I'm greedy lol) and my husband got two tacos and a burrito. We knew we wouldn't finish it, but we figured we would have the burritos the next day. We also ordered two drinks, and I was surprised to see how large they were. I believe the tacos were four dollars each and the Carne Asada one was six dollars. I'm not sure how much the burritos were, or the drinks. When I asked my total, I could've sworn he said $60 something dollars. After I ordered, it looked as though he wasn't going to give me a receipt, so I asked for one, simply because I was curious as to how much each thing was. When I got the receipt, it had no pricing information on it. We got such great service that I just let it go, especially since I had asked the total and he had already told me 60 something. However, when I looked at my account this morning, I was charged 72. So I am a little confused about that. I could have heard wrong though so I won't hold that against them. Honestly, the food is really good, presented well, and the salsas were amazing. They also have a handwashing station, forgot to mention that! I will be back to this place, and I will get a better understanding of the prices before I pay next time :D All in all, I would recommend trying this spot!
