Chicken Burrito
Rayad S.

Tacos El Nino is one of the go-to places after a night out in Chapel Hill/Carborro. Loaded with all the classic items, El Nino has all the parts of an authentic taco truck experience and at an affordable price as well. The staff is super friendly and you get your food in a reasonable amount of time given the made to order style. I got the burrito and the elote. The burrito was huge and definitely worth it but the elote was not on a cob and instead on a cup every time I got it. Overall, it was a great food truck experience and I am definitely going again! Overall: Food: 8/10 Price: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Environment: 9/10 Would I go again? Yes

Chicken Taco and three beef tacos behind it

The location was easy to find and had plenty of parking. The owner and the workers were all really kind and helpful. Their drinks are fantastic! And the prices are great: $2 for a taco, $1-2 for a drink depending on the size, and $4 for a Sopé. The tacos tasted good but the chicke was a little dry and lacked some flavor. But I'd come here again for their drinks and a quick bite. ************* Update:I went back and got their shredded beef taco and boy were they good! The meat was juicy and tender and had some great flavors. And the steak tacos were good af!! They definitely put some love in their cooking.

Pastor Burrito with hot sauces side salad with lettuce, radish, and avocado Horchata (~24oz)

First time trying Tacks El Niño, and it was great! The pastor burrito was gigantic and the meat was well marinated. It came with a side salad that was nice and crunchy from the radish, which is a little bitter but I liked it. I got a large horchata, which was delicious, but a little bit sweeter than what I'm used to. I had to put it in a glass mason jar when we got home so I wouldn't accidentally puncture the large styrofoam cup with my fingers 10/10 would go again!

Fish tacos

I was really looking forward to trying a new food truck but I feel like this one just did not meet my expectations. The tacos are super affordable but poorly seasoned. I ordered the fish tacos which were served with some cilantro and onion, but nothing special. Looking at the other reviews it sounds like I should've tried their burritos!

Honestly, I've been here enough times now where I can give it a solid three stars. People always…read morewant to come here, and it continues to be mediocre and overhyped. Basically, the drinks are decent (once you get them- besides the one time I got a margarita with no ice that was the size of a shot), and they have a patio. The service is comprised of students, who are poorly trained, and ordering is inconsistent. Apparently now, even if you use the QR code, it isn't split until the end, and usually you still have to flag down a server. Overall, small portions, overpriced and usually crowded. Fine if you want a drink before or after a movie, or to meet folks for happy hour, but you could definitely get more for your buck elsewhere.

The food here is delicious, and service has always been friendly and prompt. I recently brought my kids on a whim (we had wanted to try the bunch cafe next door but decided not to wait), and I was pleasantly surprised to learn how extraordinarily kid-friendly they are. There's a kids menu (mostly quesadilla and tacos, with corn on the cob and fruit for sides), high chairs, plastic lidded cups with straws, changing table in at least the ladies' room (I did not check the men's), and, most importantly, they hand out full coloring books for entertainment on arrival.
