Mix and match tacos (Chicken and Asada)

I've been having their tacos for years, it's so good. The chorizo, asada and chicken tacos are bomb. Check it out, they have other foods like burritos, tortas and etc. It's awesome you won't be disappointed.

Came here because they accept debit, but this is our go to taco stand now. We got two mulitas, four tacos, one burrito, and one pambazo. Everything was delicious! Very friendly, nice peeps too. It's a taco truck, so you order and take your food. There's chairs to sit and wait for your order. Right in front of Numero Uno grocery store. I only took a picture of my food, not the rest because they weren't patient for the gram lol but yes, totally recommend this taco truck.

In the seemingly endless taco space that fills my frequent drive between LAX and DTLA, Tacos El Ilegal falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum, which isn't a bad thing given how competitive the LA taco scene is. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Tacos El Ilegal is a pretty standard taco truck in Lennox that draws some decent crowds during the after work peak of about five to seven in the evening. The service is quick, and they've got a standard array of peripherals to fill out your tacos with. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? With an almost shockingly low price point of $1.00 per taco, Tacos El Ilegal has the competition beat on the value front with what are actually pretty decent sized tacos that are accompanied by a handful of tortilla chips. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? In all, these tacos were just okay. The chorizo was the highlight meat of the evening, but both the pastor and especially the carne asada fell well short of expectation on the flavor front. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? In a moment of desperation? Maybe, but there are simply too many amazing spots nearby for me to get excited about a return to Tacos El Ilegal. No Star.

FOOD (4/5): Good tacos for $1 each. Toppings and sauce options were good and varied. Be careful with the orange sauce, it is habanero based and spicy. My recommendations are as follows: - Al Pastor Tacos (full toppings) - Chorizo Tacos (full toppings) SERVICE (3/5): I don't expect great service when going to a food truck but this one was particularly lacking. I will update in the future if was only a one time occasion

Cabeza tacos and vampiros were bomb! The asada flavor was too salty for my taste. Adobada taco was also flavorful. Definitely recommend to try. But do not add salt without trying it first.

    Delicious tacos!!!

One of my go to spots for asada tacos. Their vampiros are really good too. Extremely friendly staff. Super reasonably priced.

Came here last year and was in a rush and just got something basic to go, today I wanted to taste…read moretheir rotisserie chicken. I opted to get the California burrito with the rotisserie chicken as the protein choice. The young lady taking the order was helpful in describing the rotisserie and chipotle chicken offered. Burrito and fountain drink came out to about $20. I chose to sit at a little bar top table across the side walk, the little place stayed busy. They do have a sign that says no public restrooms, somehow people still miss it. And there's one doorway between the patio seating and interior which seems to attract people oblivious to the fact the server is coming in and out with orders. Usually after getting in the way 3-4 times they have an epiphany. When the burrito came out on a plate with some chips I was honestly underwhelmed by the size/form factor. Good weight, but not the typical tight rolled cigar. All doubts were put to rest at first bite. The chicken is so juicy and flavorful, the guacamole is even throughout and the chicken is plentiful. Absolutely no bad bites. Definitely coming back here again, easy stop when coming to LAX and worth the time for the detour.

I used to be a regular customer at this restaurant a couple of years ago, and the food and service…read morewere always solid. I even used their catering for a party of 50 people for my 7‑year‑old, and everything back then was excellent. My recent visit to the Manchester location was a completely different experience. I ordered the Chicken and Steak Fajita and waited 39 minutes for my food. During that time, none of the tables were cleaned, trash was left out, and the entire dining area had an unpleasant smell that made it impossible to eat inside. I ended up taking my food to my car. The food quality has declined dramatically. The fajita was almost entirely onions and green peppers, with barely any chicken and only three tiny pieces of steak that were extremely tough, as if they were old and reheated. The Mexican rice was undercooked, the beans tasted like they came straight from a can, and even the nachos had that same canned flavor. They used to serve excellent fresh salsa, but now it tastes like processed canned salsa as well. Based on this experience, I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place anymore. The positive reviews reflect how the restaurant used to be, not how it is now. For me, this was a zero‑star visit.

Without hesitation he said Tortuga Bay and recommended the Torta Ahogada and Barbacoa tacos... not only was the Torta Ahogada smazing but the people there, 1 im guessing is the owner are amazing. This place is a no frills food counter with a few indoor tables the spill out onto the small strip mall sidewalk and ftr does have a 'no public restrooms' sign - although i suspect that may be a general suggestion to keep loitering down? I loved LA/California so much that Yesterday for Valentines Day Mrs & i returned and immediately after getting our rental went straight back to Tortuga Bay for more of the same, PLUS the barbacoa and fish tacos... the Torta Ahogada is a MUST have, but the barbacoa tacos are *awesome* as a second choice!

You can tell the locals love it too. I had to switch because my go to place closed. A lot of people were ordering burgers and tortas, and those looked great. They put a nice sauce in there that really sets everything off. For the price, I think the value is very strong. If I lived nearby, this would be in my regular rotation.
