I've had this place out in east LA and I find it to be almost the same in terms of quality and execution. I got the sampler with friends and it was nice that you could get a sampler of each type of guisados. Off the top of my head, there was the bistec con Papa, chicharron, Winnie's con verdura, eggs with chorizo, and carne con chile. They were all excellent. It came with a large amount of condiments to add such as pickled onions, various salsas and cilantro, onions and limes. It also came with a few tortillas that are warm. The guisados were all braised very well and very flavorful without being salty. I will say I would ask or like more tortillas as it isn't enough for the sampler. Other than that, the staff was super chill and nice and were attentive to our needs. The free parking lot is nice to have but it's a little hectic with random cars parking where they shouldn't and tight spots.

I've been out to their stand in East LA before, but this was my first visit to their relatively new brick and mortar location in Inglewood. My previous visit, it was earlier in the day and ordered their breakfast sampler, which I really loved! (more guisado like and hearty served with tortillas). On this visit, I was focused on getting some of their tacos. The service was great - the person at the counter was very friendly and helpful and the vibe there was a small hole in the wall type of taqueria. I ended up ordering a carne deshebrada taco (de guisado) and an asada al carbon (chikali style). The tacos were a good size and two were definitely enough even though I probably could have eaten more. I don't know if I came extra hungry, but I devoured these tacos so quickly. So so delicious. The shredded beef was tender and the stewed flavors of tomato, onion, and peppers were wonderful. The asada taco - Chikali style (comes with guacamole and beans) had a great smoky flavor to it and a great contrast to the creamy guac. The tacos are also served on fresh flour tortillas, which imo made the tacos eat like mini burritos. They're generous on the salsas and toppings and if you dine in - you receive a tray to top your food yourself. The parking was tricky. Depending on how busy the strip mall is, parking can be tough and the lot feels a little small. It's off a busy street too. Next time I come here, I am going to check if there are street parking options around the corner where less fast moving traffic goes through.

Three carnitas tacos with guac. Was a little greasy underneath

As far as taco chains go, this was okay. Let me count the ways: Location: This one was located in Inglewood on Century Blvd and Myrtle in a tiny strip mall with the tightest parking lot ever. Located on the end of a set of stores Food: I got 3 carnitas tacos that were homemade as their claim to fame as you can see them making it in the kitchen. Meat was a little salty, but good. What sank the rating to 3 stars was the amount of grease at the bottom of each taco as I ate them that was on the plate. I needed loads of napkins for that. They do give you a lot of toppings to chose from (a whole tray) to put on your tacos from limes, salsas, 3 different kinds of sauces, cabbage, marinated red onions and raw onions and cilantro. This was just okay for me. Service: Was quick and efficient I have no complaints there. Summary: This location is different from the others in that there is no condiment bar, but come to you in individual bowls that arrive at your table for you to chose from. There is no outdoor seating, but all inside. This feels cramped and not a lot of room for large parties over 4 and even then, there are only 3-4 those and bumping into your neighbor behind you a distinct possibility. I would try the other locations if you want more space, but if you're just ordering to-go you can try this spot.

I wanted to add after I went to the resturant. I ordered the next day on ubereats. My husband ordered the vampire taco with beef. Its more like a tostada. I ordered the asada again with beans and guacamole. Nothing was overly salty and everything tasted fresh. The condiments are what makes it special and the simplicity. I am biased though because as a Texan I prefer handmade flour tortillas. So if you enjoy flour tortillas. This is a fast and affordable spot close to the airport.

Barbacoa quesotaco, al pastor quesotaco and Chickli style carne asada taco

Wow - best al pastor taco and best flour tortillas I've had in a long time! I tried a quesotaco w/barbacoa, a quesotaco w/ al pastor and a carne asada taco Chikli style with guacamole and beans! Tacos came with a whole tray of condiments (when dining in) and I loved the molcajete salsa and green jalapeño avocado sauce best + pico de gallo. $15 for a delicious dinner! Servers were really friendly- I'll be back for more soon!

First time trying this spot . This was the Guisado norteño plate . With tax came up to 19.25 . The tortillas are warm and seem to be made here . If you aren't big on condiments just know this meat / sauce has a lot of them. The flavor is good just a heads up . It wasn't as busy a bit before noon .

Amazing Carne Asada tacos, best tortillas in town. Barbacoa and pastor are good too, but don't skip the steak. The Asada Burrito is probably the most bang for your buck - a lot of meat for a reasonable price. Get a Guisado Sampler if you're wanting to try something a bit more hearty. It's worth getting at least the uniquely textured chicharron at least. They say it's the rice that makes the sushi, and here it's the tortilla that makes the taco. An awesome option for tacos, highly recommend.

Amazing service!! Authentic Mexican GUISADOS!! You feel like you're at your grandmas house. Que Dios los bendiga!!! Todo tan sabroso !!!

I saw this restaurant on IG and thought I would come and give them a try since it's near my neighborhood. I enjoyed each bite of my tacos, especially the potato & beans. Both Asada and Birria were flavorful, so next time I will skip the vampiro and get all tacos because the burnt cheese overpowered my Asada. (I usually love this combo) As for the condiments and toppings, I love that they offer a full spread, but I only ordered three tacos and still received everything. While I appreciate the generosity, I feel like it leads to a lot of waste. To help them cut costs and reduce waste, they might consider asking customers which salsas and toppings they prefer instead of automatically providing the full selection. A simple system either a topping bar (space permitting) or a small menu at the counter displaying available options could be helpful. Maybe offering the full spread only for orders of six or more tacos would also be a good balance. horchata: 3/5 Potato and bean tacos: 4/5 Barbacoa: 3.5/5 Vampiro: 3/5 Service was friendly, and I'd definitely come back. One thing I really appreciate is that they have a private parking lot, which is a huge plus. However, I'd recommend avoiding Century Blvd if possible it tends to get congested. Taking an alternate route or using side streets might save you some time. I really want this place to succeed, and I'm wishing them all the best. Definitely check them out and show your support!

Asadero Chikali is a local gem that has transitioned from a food truck to a cozy restaurant, and it has only gotten better with time. The limited seating adds to the intimate and welcoming vibe, while the great music creates the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a meal. One of the standout features is their salsa tray, offering a variety of sauces that cater to every taste - it's a must-try! The food quality is simply spectacular; each dish is savory, flavorful, and incredibly delicious. Whether you're a local or visiting, every bite feels like a little piece of heaven. The tacos are especially memorable, with fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors. The fresh tortillas are just a great touch. I love coming back time and again, knowing that Asadero Chikali will consistently serve up phenomenal food. It's hands down one of the best spots in town for authentic Mexican eats! Service is quick and simple just be ready to wait if there's a line.

Amazing guisados and fresh tortillas in an unassuming strip mall right off Century. We got the guisado sampler - the standout for me was the chicharrones- and a bunch of tacos/vampiros (asada and pastor were both delicious). We got all of the taco "chikali style" which means they come with guacamole and beans. They bring out a whole tray of different salsas toppings for you to add to your meal (cucumbers, chopped cabbage, onions, cilantro, etc). There is a small lot but spots are on the tight side.

I opted to get the California burrito with the rotisserie chicken as the protein choice. The young lady taking the order was helpful in describing the rotisserie and chipotle chicken offered. Burrito and fountain drink came out to about $20. I chose to sit at a little bar top table across the side walk, the little place stayed busy. They do have a sign that says no public restrooms, somehow people still miss it. And there's one doorway between the patio seating and interior which seems to attract people oblivious to the fact the server is coming in and out with orders. Usually after getting in the way 3-4 times they have an epiphany. When the burrito came out on a plate with some chips I was honestly underwhelmed by the size/form factor. Good weight, but not the typical tight rolled cigar. All doubts were put to rest at first bite. The chicken is so juicy and flavorful, the guacamole is even throughout and the chicken is plentiful. Absolutely no bad bites. Definitely coming back here again, easy stop when coming to LAX and worth the time for the detour.

I even used their catering for a party of 50 people for my 7‑year‑old, and everything back then was excellent. My recent visit to the Manchester location was a completely different experience. I ordered the Chicken and Steak Fajita and waited 39 minutes for my food. During that time, none of the tables were cleaned, trash was left out, and the entire dining area had an unpleasant smell that made it impossible to eat inside. I ended up taking my food to my car. The food quality has declined dramatically. The fajita was almost entirely onions and green peppers, with barely any chicken and only three tiny pieces of steak that were extremely tough, as if they were old and reheated. The Mexican rice was undercooked, the beans tasted like they came straight from a can, and even the nachos had that same canned flavor. They used to serve excellent fresh salsa, but now it tastes like processed canned salsa as well. Based on this experience, I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place anymore. The positive reviews reflect how the restaurant used to be, not how it is now. For me, this was a zero‑star visit.

This place is a gem. Of course, I had to start with a margarita served in one of those huge goblet glasses, and wow--it did not disappoint. Strong, smooth, and full of flavor. My wife, who's pregnant, ordered a virgin cocktail, and honestly, it was just as impressive. It was refreshing, well-balanced, and fairly priced (which is rare for non-alcoholic drinks). For food, we went all in. My wife ordered the fish taco meal, which was generous and packed with flavor. The portions were no joke. Our son got the kids burrito, and it was massive--definitely not your average "kids meal." I went with the quesabirria tacos from the appetizer menu, and they were perfect for my appetite. Rich, flavorful, and satisfying without being too heavy. The ambiance really stood out. It strikes a great balance between authentic Mexican culture and a modern, clean dining experience. It's the kind of place that feels lively and welcoming without being overwhelming--perfect for a casual night out or even a small celebration. Service was top-tier. The staff was attentive without hovering, quick with recommendations, and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish.
