Oh my gosh! Terrific tacos! The asada is amazing, very nice grilled outside flavor. The gentleman that took our order was awesome to talk to. Very proud of their food. Plus our order was to go, so he let us know that the salsa would be put on the side so the tacos wouldn't get soggy by the time we ate them. I kept driving by and seeing this place, but I hadn't had the chance to stop in until recently. I just had all the standard tacos to give it a shot. Honestly they were kind of a mixed bag for me. The asada was good and had some pretty decent flavor, but just not enough to really make a lasting impression. The chorizo and the chicken were like sawdust they were so dry. The al pastor wasn't dry, but it was unmemorable. Sauces were good, but sauce should be a compliment and not the major flavor. Now I'm not saying don't give it a shot. I'll give it another go. The service was good, friendly and fast. I ordered a pastor Vampiro, birria burrito, and carne fries. The vampiro was very good and that I rate a 5 start. For the the burrito it was really basic and couldn't really taste the birria. It was more like shredded beef. The carne asada fries we close to cold than warm and for that reason the low quality cheese used was not melted. The carne asada on the fries does have a lot of flavor but the serving portion was very small and therefore, as a complete dish it was lacking. I wish they would use better quality cheese even if it reflects on the price. read more

If you want lengua Fri-Sun, it does sell out fast, so lengua for lunch might be a better option. Friendly, nice, gals that work the front counter. Also nice in clean inside for a nice lunch or dinner with the family. Call in order in pickup or Uber eats etc etc. I'm sure it is an option, too. I'm a born and raised Southern California boy who spent a lot of time in Mexico as a kid; needless to say I have eaten a lot of Mexican food in my life. I'm a sucker for good birria and this place nails it! I eat here at least once a week and I love bringing people here who haven't had their food. Full disclosure, I haven't had any other meat other than the birria, but finding good birria isn't always easy, and this place gets it right! Their consume de birria is so delicious! The restaurant is always clean. The staff is always friendly. The food comes out quickly and is piping hot. The ingredients are fresh and the food is seasoned perfectly. Last weekend I was able to try Tacos El Cheko at a birthday party I attended. Before getting to the food, I must give them a lot of credit for dealing with uncontrollable factors at the party. The day of the party was very windy and the grill and tables for the sides and salsas got moved multiple times. Through all the commotion the taquero went with the flow and was able to reset his set up over and over and serve delicious food. My initial serving was 2 asada, 2 chorizo and 2 pollo tacos. I used their red sauce and guacamole on all the tacos. The asada were my favorite, with the chorizo being a solid 2nd. I did go back for a second serving and got a few more asada and chorizo tacos. The pollo were not bad, but I just preferred the other two meats that much more. There were beans and rice available, but I was more interested in just stuffing my face with tacos. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking to get a taco guy at a party. They brought tons of food, and said they always bring extra to make sure they don't run out of meat at the parties they serve. read more

My wife loved her mulita. My pastor tacos were good, but the star of our order was the carne asada!! The carne asada tacos with everything on them, DELICIOUS!! Onions, cilantro, salsa and quacamole...Nom Nom Nom!! The carne asada has to be the best around this town. We did a lot of research and received a lot of quotes before deciding to go with Tacos El Cheko for our daughter's birthday party and we could not be more pleased that we decided to hire them for our event. The quality, service, and customization of their food packages made booking our event a breeze. Our event was for 100 guests and our package included carne asada, beef birria, pollo asado (chicken), bacon wrapped hotdogs, rice and beans, pasta salad, 3 large jugs of aqua fresca (our favorite was the horchata BEST horchata we've ever had), 3 salsas and all of the fixings for the tacos (including cheese for quesadillas and quesatacos). The day of our event, our taquero arrived on time and was fully setup before our guests arrived. I had bought extra tablecloths and items to setup our food tables, and I ended up not using them. Tacos El Cheko's setup is so professional, it looked nicer than the items I had bought to setup our food table. They are high quality all the way, from the food, to the onion and cilantro bowls. Now lets get to the good part, the food!!! Our guests would not stop talking about how good the tacos were. They loved the carne asada and birria tacos!!! The quality of the meat is unbeatable. We've had other taqueros who's meat is rubbery, extra chewy, full of fat and pretty gross I'll admit. But not Tacos El Cheko! They pay attention to every detail. The meat is flavorful, and high quality. The salsas!!! We could not decide on a favorite, they were all so good and elevated the flavors in the tacos so well.
