    3 Birria Tacos

Tacos El Capi has the best birria tacos in Madison, hands down. The atmosphere isn't particularly special, but honestly, it doesn't matter because the food is so good! The staff are all nice as well.

Authentic Birria Tacos in Madison! I ordered three Birria Tacos, a side of rice, and a pineapple soda. I really enjoyed the tacos and rice. The shell was crunchy, The cheese was cheesy, and the beef was seasoned perfectly. Everything was so fresh and warm. The restaurant was clean, inviting, and beautiful. My only dislike is there are limited parking spots. Pro-Tip: There is an uncharge when you pay with a card.

Order at the counter and find a seat, gal at the register will bring you your order. Ridiculously delicious birra tacos, came out hot and fresh with some nice heat. The dipping sauce was amazing. I cannot wait to go back and try everything on the menu. Think taco truck, but as a sit down restaurant...so good!

Stuck between 3.5-4 because I wanted to enjoy the tacos! Place is clean and seems authentic. Got the birria tacos and was just not impressed. Two of the three tacos fell apart after the first bite, didn't even get to dip them into the consommé. The consommé didn't have much of a flavor but probably because of birria hype so I had high expectations. I'd stick to regular tacos because it's not messy and I'm not a big fan of shredded beef vs the other meats. The only l thing I liked was the red sauce/salsa and the freshness of the food. The cucumber and radish was fresh and crunchy. I'd go back to try other foods.

I cannot recommend the birria tacos enough. They are the best I have had in the entire city. I was there during a mid-afternoon lull and the staff sat down for family meal while my friend and I were eating. The whole staff was friendly and happy that we enjoyed our food so much. Very much a good family vibe.

Stopped by because we saw it on tik tok and wanted to try the fries! Huge portions and good options, where we felt it fell short was with the seasoning. It really could have used some salt! The torta was good - a little different because there were beans in it, but the bread was fluffy, and the steak was cooked well. It was a huge sandwich though so I could barely finish half of the sandwich. The mango juice was good! I would definitely get it again. The fries were good, but again missing some salt, and could have used more meat. The service was quick, and the restaurant itself was cute! This is a place that I would probably still come back to if I was in the area and hungry!

Tacos, Birria tacos with consommé, and fries. Tacos de carnitas only available on weekends.

My family is from Guadalajara and we are very proud of our cultural dish - the torta ahogada. Torta ahogada is a Mexican sandwich that is "drowned" (ahogada) in a savory sauce. The sauce starts to soak up in the crunch bread that in-turn has an Italian beef like it factor when eating the sandwich. This Torta ahogada did not disappoint as the bread was fresh and had just enough of a crunch needed to leave an impression. The sauce was savory and pleasant; therefore, I couldn't have been any happier to see my sandwich drowned in it. The cheese and carnita filling was superb, and the amount of onion served with it was a nice compliment to the sandwich instead of being too much as often seen in other Tortas. Both my son and I were extremely impressed with the Torta ahogada and both of us would gladly order it again. The tacos campechanos (steak and chorizo) were equally as delicious. The ambience was pretty typical of a taco spot. I appreciated the art work and the effort that was put into the ambience. It definitely feels like a modern taco spot the way it is decorated. It also has a selfie wall with el taco de chapi neon light for those who dig selfies and Instagram pics. The restaurant was very clean and orderly. The service was great. We were greeted by the owner, he took our order, and he checked in on us multiple times ensuring that we enjoyed our meal. Overall I was very impressed with this little hidden gem in Madison. If I lived here then this would be one of the spots that I frequent regularly. I strongly recommend that you stop and check this place out while in the area.

Dine in area and an ad for a burger joint as well.

The enchiladas verde is always my choice on the menu when dining at a new restaurant and these guys did not disappoint! My wife has the tinga chicken tostados and enjoyed as well. Sorry, no food pics.....it was consumed too fast.

Visited on a Friday night and it was a bit busy for the dinner rush around 6pm. Parking lot is a little tiny but you can enter from east Johnson or East wash. Small diner like setting but very quick service! The birria tacos were so flavorful and filling. I had a side of rice too since the tacos come alone. The Jamaica was very good too! Enough items on the menu to choose from but it is not super extensive. I will be revisiting soon to try more items!

Solid taqueria on the east side. Fast casual setup where you order at the counter and take a number to have the food brought out to you. No alcohol at this point which was a bummer as there is nothing better than tacos and a margarita. Food was solid and ample for the money. My taco dinner included pastor, campechenco and alambre with a side of refried beans and rice. Of the three, I loved the pastor. Sweet and savory with a nice sear, It was perfect. I am interested in checking them out during the weekend where the feature a few specials-one being my favorite-carnitas. Super friendly staff. Definitely worth a trip to check them out.

First time coming and originally saw Epicurean Chronicles do a review on it! The birria tacos were delicious! So cheesy and flavorful! The horchata and steak fries were tasty and hit the spot. The staff were so friendly and ordering/receiving was very quick! Definitely a taco spot, I'll be back to!

First service was very friendly and store had a good vibe. Now the food was absolutely great! I've had Birria all over the country as I travel for work and I have to say I think this is the best Birria i have ever had. Good job guys

Well if so, do I have the place for you! Bandit Tacos & Coffee is a mashup of a few of my favorite things that I never knew I needed. While the tacos and Mexican inspired dishes and drinks are more focused on via the menu, the coffee shop vibe is the true essence of this space. The vibe is coffee shop that happens to serve tacos and margaritas too. The space is delightfully thought out from the seating to artwork, plants and even the music. We popped in for coffee and went with a classic Nitro Brew with Oat Milk and a Dirty Horchata. The drinks were stellar. I sipped on my cold brew for a while, and my buddy enjoyed his horchata. The horchata is fairly thick, so when he needed a little more coffee so he could get every drop they were happy to top him off at no charge. The tacos and food here are elevated taqueria style with fresh made masa/corn tortillas with the location from and the actual corn on display near the coffee tap. Prices were standard for both the coffee and food. Well worth on either end. Overall, we really enjoyed Bandit Tacos & Coffee. I have a growing list of repeat spots to visit and this spot is high on that list!

Service was fantastic and they were very helpful with taking our order and explaining anything on the menu. We found a table and they brought us over chips/salsa/queso. My two pastor and one steak tacos were overflowing with yummy goodness and I was definitely full afterwards! It's so nice that you can order tacos a la carte (or you can go the full meal and get the rice and beans etc, but I never eat them) for a reasonable price. I did squeeze my limes over the tacos, but they were so good as is I didn't even sample the salsas they brought to the table. My previous view was based hugely upon the poor customer experience that I had endured. But two weeks ago I returned because I was seriously craving a taco and the other nearby place had finally convinced me they were second rate. (I wrote a small bit, about that location, not more than a couple weeks back. I won't name it, but I rather hope these words will be taken to heart and affect change) But upon my reentry to this place I was beyond pleasantly surprised. Eduardo, the owner whom I have since met, is the reason why I have returned. An active and dedicated team needs their captain. So trying to reimagine the perfect taco place I had a fresh mindset and I think I was accurate about that choice. Today marks the 6th time in roughly 2 weeks. Basic ground beef tacos with onions, cilantro and some lime. Cheap and delicious. Absolutely not a bastardized low fat gringo taco. Not at all. Heavy on the filling and tasty. It's only missing one ingredient: spice. The orders include a pair of sauces, a green and red plastic cup with something resembling a hot sauce. Tuesday is a $1 ground beef taco. Sparse but not lacking in the meat. So glad I tried again. Eduardo has a key quality that makes a place feel welcoming. Friendly, and informative about the foods that are available. I don't speak Spanish, aside from simple jargon that every English speaker has to have as their basic vocabulary, even in regular American speak day to day situations. The place vibrates with a lot of ethnic authenticity right here in my Middleton neighborhood where I've lived now for 15 of my 25 years in Wisconsin.
