After reading the reviews here on yelp I chose "The Taco Cart" to cater our housewarming party…read morebecause they sounded amazing! Unfortunately they didn't stand up to my expectations:( The food was tasty but it wasn't cooked to order but rather pre-cooked and reheated. I envisioned a hot grill searing fresh meat served to order. My plate was cold but tasted ok. The set up was quick and professional and the service was friendly but not "authentic" or up-beat. My guests enjoyed the food but I think most of them filled up on appetizers since The Taco Cart was 45 minutes late getting to the party, and we never got an explanation of why they were late? It was nice not having any clean-up, but overall I don't feel like we got what we paid for:( I love good food and hate to give a small business a bad review but I have to be honest about our experience. Maybe they weren't having a good day.

I was disappointed that the cart did not include the dairy and vegan options as requested. Additionally, per the instructions, I paid the $97 fee and also covered the cost of a foam board through The Copy Shop; however, the cart ultimately provided was not able to accommodate the foam board. I also wanted to flag that the custom marshmallows were significantly larger than expected and barely fit into the large cups, which made service challenging.

I was looking for a sushi caterer nearby for a party coming up within a week. I called Jose after…read moreseeing the cute presentations on Yelp. We coordinated through text, he was very responsive and kind. He was booked the day we needed but offered to drop off early, which we agreed since we were in a pinch. When he arrived he provided the heating trays at no charge!! I thought that was so nice of him! He also provided fresh wasabi, ginger, chopsticks and napkins, extra sauces, and extra flowers to put out right before our party, he literally had everything!!! He was so nice too. What a sweet guy. The sushi trays were so pretty. We had a few guests ask for his info so they could also use him. 10/10 would recommend. The only thing I'd change for next time is not ordering early because the avo did brown a bit in our fridge since we had to store them a few hours early and made the presentation iffy. Otherwise quality and service l was great!

I paid about $50 per person and everybody came and thought it was so awesome that he came in person and started making sushi. He brought everything! All I did was provide plates and chopsticks. Jose had everything! There was so much sashimi and rolls that came around. Jose is very knowledgeable in almost all Sushi food. I would definitely hire him for any parties of 10 or more at home. His wife, Yessi was there to help him and so much Sushi came and everybody left so full. His pricing is definitely reasonable and I would definitely ask him if he can do other things. He has access to UNI other types of fish and exotic ingredients so please give him a call if you want a party for your house. I'm sure it will cost more the more exotic it gets.

I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Bones at an event a few weeks ago. After a brief discussion away…read morefrom the station, his slightly smug demeanor, blunt attitude, and overall level of confidence in his product left me salivating to try his pizza. When one is a true master at a craft, one must posses a level of confidence well above the average person because without this confidence, execution can be inconsistent. There was no inconsistency here. This pizza was phenomenal. Chef Bones described his pizza as "simple" because as he said, "simple is best." I couldn't agree more. His pizza transported me back to Pompeii outside of the ruins to a little cafe that served me one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. The crust was more than just the crispy watery crust many west coasters drool over because it reminds them of New York crust. No, this crust was light yet flavorful, crispy yet pillowy soft, a perfect bed of starch to soak up the flavors of a perfectly cooked pizza. And if I may add, cooking a pizza perfectly is no easy feat. Underdone and you might be scooping your cheese out of the middle like soup, and if it's over cooked your crust begins to burn as well as all of your delicate ingredients. The sauce was delightful. Sauce in my opinion is the most difficult part to get right. If it's too bitter you're eating Dominos circa 1999, too sweet and you're eating DiGiornos. This sauce was incredibly well balanced and NOT overly seasoned, a very common mistake of many "authentic" Italian restaurants - All aboard the garlic train! - No thank you! Chef Bones makes his cheese from scratch and I'm pretty sure that even a six year old could discern the quality difference between his cheese from other pizzas. To me this was his signature on the pizza. It was so incredibly moist without being overly tangy, and so soft without being too stringy. People say they want to stretch their mozzarella apart and watch the stringy cheese look fresh. Why? I want cheese with all of that flavor that is melt in my mouth soft. This is what his hand made cheese did. The highest marks I can give. Of all the pizzas I've had In the United States, nothing gives me more joy than to say this was in my top 3; nestled with the likes of a perfectly cooked pizza from Pizzeria Mozza and a fresh out of the oven slice of cheese from Ben's in the south village of Manhattan. Chef Bones it truly was a pleasure. Thank you for sharing your art, and I am counting the days until I take a trip down south to try to clean out your truck. Keep up the stellar work and best of luck in all of your future endeavors. Evviva!!

I got to the party late and was the last to eat and everything was still hot and fresh. I was a little late for the chicken, it had been devoured by the crowd by the time I got there. The carnitas looked super good but the fresh tub of carne asada was calling me and was recommended by our gracious hostess. I decided on two super fresh carne asada tacos that were handmade right in front of you, and added some rice on the side. It was very, very good. I thought their rice was excellent, mild tasting, the grains were cooked perfectly, still light and fluffy. I didn't have the beans but they looked good. The salsas were good too. I was impressed with the overall performance and would definitely hire them to cater a party.

BEWARE of this Taco Caterer!!! Not very reliable IMO. I found Ricos Tacos Doña Mari from here and…read moremade contact due to the high Yelp ratings and photos. Here's my story. I made contact with the business owner, Maria on 5/8/24 to cater a graduation event for 50 people to take place on 6/1/24. Maria provided me the cost of service and what it included (3 meats, rice, beans, 2 types of aguas, fresh churros and 2 hours of service). I accepted the service with a $100 deposit via Zelle. She sent me a picture of the written order. To me that was one less thing to take care of. I've used various services from Yelp and created services via text messaging with no problem. Approximately 7:45 pm on Friday, 5/31/24, LESS THAN 24 HOURS from my event, I received a text message from Maria, that she broke her ankle from an accident and can't serve my event, with pictures of her in what look like a hospital and her foot in a cast/boot. I get it, accidents happen, but when you're running a business, shouldn't you have a contingency plan? She could've found a replacement or had someone in her network to help her out. Her photos showed her and another person performing jobs, in some photos, other people working with her. This leads me to believe that she took a larger job worth more than mine and just dropped me! I was really looking forward to her service! I asked for her to return my deposit. Her last message was that she will do it tomorrow (which was Friday evening). It's been more than 3 days and I haven't seen my deposit yet. Since it was a Zelle transaction, it should be fairly easy to refund me, right? I eventually sent another message last night and no response. I see the message was READ. And still no response. So now I'm being ghosted. It's just $100, but if you're going to run a proper business, do it right. I'll absorb the loss at this point. Finding a Taco Caterer less than 24 hours from your event is almost impossible! Either they are booked or no one responds back. Luckily, I did find Jennio's Tacos and they were a Godsend! AND their tacos were delicious! Here are pictures of the business card, Maria in the hospital, her "message" and her injured foot. I don't wish any ill will towards anyone, but I think Maria could have handled this transaction with more professionalism. If you come across Ricos Tacos Dona Mari, think twice. Lesson learned: ask the vendor what is their contingency plan for accidents and such. Ask if they can cater multiple events at a time, if they can, they probably won't drop you and leave you hanging at the last minute. I guess I should be thankful she informed me cause it could've been worse (she could've not called and just not show up). And I'm very grateful for finding Jennio's Tacos. Not only did they come through but are top rated in their food and service.
