Thats a NO for me, sorry…read more Im used to the location on 59, by Beechnut. I didnt know about this location and got excited when I drove by it. Ambiance, cleanliness and variety of mexican sodas is what they got my 2 stars for. Firstly, the salsas are not even the same and as a Mexican, a good salsa makes or breaks a taco. So that was disappointment #1. Secondly, I ordered 1 tripa dorada and 1 trompo; the guy messed up my order and added 1 lengua. When they brought it, they took my whole plate to remove the extra taco and by the time I got my plate back, my other 2 tacos were cold. NO THANKS. Disappointment #2. Thirdly, when my other 2 tacos came back, the tripa was soggy and cold, so they brought the manager and wanted to take my plate AGAIN to change the tripa taco, so I told him NO because im hungry and my trompo is going to be cold now, so he grabbed a napkin (instead of bringing a plate), put his hand on my plate and took the tripa taco. I was SOOO upset and dissatisfied that I told him to just change the soggy tripa for fajita. Disappointment #3 Now that I ate my trompo taco, let me say the meat.... Cold , obviously, Not much flavor at all, nicely grilled yes, but the flavor was not there... to that we add the flavorless salsas and cold double tortilla. Yea, no. To the tripa taco that was changed for a fajita, i could say it was good. Not GOOD, not Good, but "alright". Again, flavorless salsas didnt help the poor taco either. I was the one that told my husband to go there because the ones on Gessner used to be great. Sorry, but as a Mexican, not even 2.75 a taco is worth anything I ate. Hoping they improve.

This place popped up on YELP and figured I'd give it a shot in mid March for lunch. Right off of 249 and Bammel North Road, it's right next to a gas station so you know it'll be pretty legitimate. As you walk in, there's a plethora of protein options that you can select; breakfast tacos are also available all day as well (thank god!). With this being my first visit I went with a taco trio of a chorizo/egg/cheese breakfast taco, a barbocoa taco, and the stewed pork taco. Got the food to-go and ate in the car. The barbocoa and stewed pork are tasty although a bit messy with the grease; have napkins available! The breakfast taco is pretty dope; very large, filling, and good flavor from the chorizo. I would definitely order these again. Prices are pretty reasonable given today's inflation. As for protein/flavor options, there's no listings on the display area so you'll have to point and ask what the items are. Make sure you let them know the tortilla you want. I'll certainly be back.

They could use a better tortilla, overall the tacos are good. They are small, but have a lot of meat. The quesabirria tacos are my go to here. The stuffed baked potatoes are also huge and shareable. Waited LONG time to be here and unfortunately was a disappointment…read more Now, as a Mexican, I have certain expectations about a taco place and to receive exactly as they advertise. The goods: - Fast service - Good portion meat-tortilla ratio. - Good green salsa The disappointments; 1.- They advertise and have it on menu as TROMPO, and I was served PASTOR... they are THE SAME MEAT, however, the difference? The cooking method. Trompo is the marinated meat that you put in the upside down rotisserie stick to turn and get cooked and charred in the fire directly. Pastor is the same meat but cooked ON THE GRIDDLE. Sooo, they advertise trompo and although the stick had the meat there, as I waited and intentionally put attention to it once I received my tacos, the meat rotisserie never moved ...actually, the meat was in an aluminum container and passed onto the griddle. Not every taco truck has trompo, because of its cooking process , so I was veeeery excited to try them just to receive what the others have. Also, the meat was tough; good flavor but tough. 2.- The "fajita" I dont think it was fajita but BISTEK. They are different cuts of meat. Fajita is the SKIRT steak and bistec could be milanesa meat... is thinly sliced and it has different texture and flavor. Also it was veeery very chopped, like almost with the processor, which is usually what they do with bistek since the cut of meat is not as juicy as fajita. It had okay flavor but not awesome. 3.- The tortillas were not soft/oily enough but just tough and even on the toastier side, which if they would have been oiled, it would have worked. 4.- The red salsa was a NO go. It tasted like chile, water and much salt. However the green one was good. 5.- This is NOT food relatedbut its a pet-peeve that even has a slang word in Spanish... "pichicateado/pichicato" and it means when someone or something is "juuuuust enough to pass by or to make it". I ordered 8 tacos total, within 2 people in 2 orders. I received 1 napkin, 1 tiny portion of grilled onion, 1 jalapeño, 1 tiny portion of onion and cilantro... all for the 8 tacos. Like brooo!! This is what in Mexico we call pichicato, so you give me juuuust barely enough to put a bit piece of those on each taco, like sorry but NAHH!! Sorry but after a long wait and expectation of this taqueria after all the noise on Instagram.... This is a NO going back for me. Best of luck and hopefully they do see the reviews as a constructive criticism because they already have a great clientele, just improve the food.

Keep that in mind as you navigate to find this spot. Tacos are quite affordable at $2 a pop. Meats avialable are the fajita, trompo, pollo, chorizo, and campechanos (fajita & trompo mixed). The menu is in either english or espanol and the person taking your order is bilingual in both. Makes the ordering process pretty smooth. I went with 6 tacos with a mix of fajita, trompo, pollo, and campechanos. Also ordered a small pirata fajita quesadilla. The tacos come with a generous amount of garnish (cilantro + onions) along with some sauteed onions and limes for squeeze. Get the squeeze on and throw on some of that green salsa they provide. The flavors pack a nice punch with the campechanos and trompo as my favorites. The quesadilla pirata has a nice cheese pull and I like the avocado addition for some creaminess. I'll be including this in the taco rotation since this isn't too far from my office. Reminder that it's cash or Zelle only so have that paper ready!
