I see why this place is famous. I tried my first chile relleno taco here. Perfection. Excellent food. Great service. (Don't worry if your Spanish isn't good. Menu is also in Englis, but don't let that turn you off.) Definitely add to your Oaxaca "to do" list.

Tacos de Quesillo con Chile Relleno and Chicharrones

My wife and I visited Tacos Del Carmen for a quick lunch on a recent trip to Oaxaca. We ordered two Tacos de Quesillo: con Chile Relleno and con Chicharrones. The Chile Relleno was filled with spicy tender peppers, meat and cheese. The Chicharrones were filled with gooey cheese and juicy meaty chicarrones. The tortilla shells were a bit on the hard side but the flavors were delicious.

Really nice pork tacos and empanada de Amarillo. Very hot off the grill so beware for mouth burns! Tasty and worth a stop.

4.5 stars! We happened upon Tacos Del Carmen and it was yum! They were out of most things we wanted to try so we settled for a few things that were left and enjoyed most of them! I would definitely recommend arriving early to get your pick. It's a little food stand, but there is one bench if you get lucky enough to find space on. The ladies were very nice.

Chicken tinga and chile relleno tacos! Excellent!

The tacos were average. The amarillo empanadas were definitely lacking flavor. We we're disappointed.

The food is amazing-tortillas from scratch on a street corner. Tinga and chile relleno are the best.

I got chile relleno and mushroom tacos, could've done with more flavor for the mushroom.

This cart serves an amazing hamburger. I love in n out but I prefer this spot. During various trips…read moreto Oaxaca I have let 5 folks take a bite of my burger and they all immediately ordered their own...sometimes two!! You can get your burger with several toppings but the best is "con todo". It includes the patty, a slice of cheap ass Fudd ham grilled, American cheese or Oaxacan quesillo, lettuce, tomato, grilled or fresh onion', some pickled jalapeños, a few chunks of pineapple, Mexican Mayo and a little mustard. The hotdogs aren't that great but they have them. Mario's usually shows up after 5 or 6 near the Zocalo but they may move around. After 10 pm the line gets long with all the drunk folks needing something to soak up all that mezcal or beer. But don't worry because the cook has his technique down. They were only 35 pesos but worth twice that!!!

The delicious aroma pulled me to check out what was…read morecooking, and I was shocked to see all of the ingredients that were being used to give these hot dogs and hamburgers a Oaxacan twist. You got regular hot dog buns, but with gooey and toasted cheese and topped with bacon , Pico de Gallo, ketchup, mayo, mustard and *chapulines*. I had to try these and it was amazing!!! They also top the hot dogs with chicharrón for more crunchiness. The hamburgers have fresh grilled pineapple with a meat patty topped with ham and cheese, and you can also top with tomato, lettuce and salsa. We visited this stand several times on our Oaxacan vacation and I must say I think I am addicted and will miss it!
