Wowww!!! I found Tacos Chonchis on Instagram and I'm beyond glad I did. The food is delicious, authentic, and cooked fresh. Each order I've gotten I've eaten so fast I haven't even grabbed a photo. I order the Quesa Birria, a quesadilla stuffed full of juicy birria meat. One for $4 or 3 for $10. Their red and green salsas are delicious. I highly suggest enjoying them as quickly as you can, the juicy meat can make it get soggy with time. Next time I'd like to try a "stoner" quesa birria, the quesa birria but with added hot Cheetos for a fun twist. Tacos Chonchis is a red food truck located on grand in the parking lot of a liquor store near the Ortega's entrance. Their hours are set and the service is friendly. Wanted to like this place..I'm all for supporting local business!! And to have a taco truck in your home town down the street..HECK YEAH!! But how are you going to have some bomb a$$ looking pictures on IG and then you put out different looking food!!?? And to top it off have BIRRA TACOS and not have CONSOME!!! EXTREMELY OVERRATED!!! I ordered some carne asada street tacos and was very disappointed. The meat was very bland with no seasoning / flavor. You are better off going to any other taco joint in the Lake Elsinore / Perris area for an authentic street taco experience. I also ordered some carne asada fries which were just as bad. I went to eat here because of the hype on Instagram and was disappointed. Ordered the quesabirrias and they said that they don't have any Consomé. They let me know that they ran out and I was okay with that. I went back a different day (a couple days later to see if they now have it because it's what I've been craving and still am) and they said they ran out again. This has happened every time I go. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally after seeing a TikTok about the enchiladas we decided to go, but no! The enchiladas no flavor nothing at all. Way overrated! I give them a 6/10 tacos aren't anything impressive and definitely not unique, don't believe the pictures they have on there social media. there's no consistency some of my tortillas were burned and some were super soft I ordered 3 tacos and a Torta. the Torta had a lot of black residue it's obvious they don't clean their grill. My husband had found them on ig and had been craving them so we decided to give them a try, I was so disappointed not only are they not wearing a face mask and girl was munchin with her little window open.
