Good service, great food! I went at an odd time so it felt eerily empty and quiet, but otherwise great experience.

We weren't planning on having lunch here but we saw a new place and were curious. Turns out they're doing a soft launch through the weekend in preparation for the grand opening on the 23rd. Food was entirely free but my review will take into account potential prices. Take some things with a grain of salt as it is a soft launch. Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. They bring your food out to you and also clean tables. The ambience is definitely giving generic Mexican vibes. They do have bits of decor that tribute JMU/Virginia so some thought was put into that aspect. The food itself was great. Tacos were large and the two taco combo was the perfect amount to fill me up. Fried chicken had a great breading and was crispy. Korean BBQ Beef didn't taste all that Korean specifically, it was more like a general Asian flavor. The beef was in large chunks that were a little tough to pull apart so the taco itself fell apart too. The price was $15 for a combo. The price seems a little steep but knowing that they donate a taco to charity makes it sting a little bit less. I can definitely see myself coming back here even without the allure of free food. But while you have the chance you should check out their soft launch from 11-2 through Sunday, 7/21! read more

Had to write a review about the service. Ordered tacos as usual (our go to taco place) and one was missing. Drove back to pick up the missing taco and was greeted by very friendly, apologetic staff. Not only did they replace the taco, they threw in an extra taco and 2 coupons. We have never had such spectacular service recovery at a restaurant before. We were already loyal customers, but we will definitely continue to eat here. Thank you for keeping our faith in humanity through your exceptional service! read more

Super place. My wife, Delta, and i stopped in for a nosh. We were greeted by super friendly helpful staff that helped us navigate their menu. Tony settled on the 2 tacos meal with chips and queso. My 2 were fried chicken and blackened mahi. Delta had the mahi and steak tacos with chips and guacamole. The tacos were huge and super delish. The chips portion was galactic as well as the amount of queso and guacamole. (Both great). The tacos were super! Don't miss the mahi. Let's be clear: Tacos 4 Life isn't authentic Mexican food (it's very American). However, its social-conscious mission to feed people in need is admirable. I tried the chicken fajita burrito and thought it was okay. I think the ingredients can be more fresh or of better quality. The staff were super friendly and the service was FAST. It was good! Definitely not expecting a "fast food" taco restaurant to be good! The queso wasn't like regular queso. It had a seasoning in it but it was very good! The guacamole was good but chunks of tomato's which isn't a bad thing! And then the salsa was also good. Nothing special but I would definitely get all of those again! I got one classic beef taco and a carnitas taco! They are definitely worth trying! The carnitas had a cinnamony flavor but it wasn't bad! I also tried the fried chicken taco which was also very good! It had a sweet sauce on it and that was super good!! The service was very nice! I definitely wasn't expecting them to bring the food to me! The ambiance was fine nothing crazy obviously! awesome tacos especially for the price range. obviously not "authentic," but we live in harrisonburg virginia so that is to be expected. ordered online, got to the restaurant in five minutes, and my order was ready! employees were friendly and the restaurant looked clean and fun. just as good as places like chipotle and qdoba. i will be returning! read more

went here to try a new restaurant in harrisonburg and was not pleased at all. we ordered the southwest bowl and carnita and chicken tacos. they were not good at all. came out cold and carnitas were super fatty with some weird cinnamon flavor. i would not suggest going here. you are paying for crap food. read more
