I tried this place for the 1st time today. My dissatisfaction is that I place the order myself on the screen, I have to pick up the order myself & dispose of tray at garbage area... why are you asking for patrons to tip you while placing the order. You put in big letters 18, 20, 25%... for what? I'm sure in bottom corner in small print there is selection for no tip but you emphasize on majority of screen to tip. Seem unreasonable. We ordered an Al Pastor bowl and burrito, with a side of chips and pico de gallo. Our order came pretty fast, but it turned out they just completely forgot to make our burrito, and we only noticed it when we got back to our apartment I would suggest checking inside your bags before you leave (probably a good idea to do that everywhere anyways). The Al Pastor bowl was okay, but the burrito was disappointing. There was almost no pineapple in the burrito, just a couple of pieces at the bottom, and there was half the amount of meat I would expect in the burrito, and only at the top area of the burrito. The rest of the burrito was just rice and beans..it was like they folded or filled the burrito wrong so there was no even distribution of the meat, rice and beans, pineapples etc. read more

I recently visited this place as the outside prompted my curiosity. I was immediately greeted at the door by the friendly employees. I ordered the vegetarian chicken burrito and guacamole with chips. Let me tell you... this burrito was soooo gooddddd. It was the perfect serving size but the guacamole was even better. I do wish that they could've added some more seitan meat in my burrito. The rice and beans were amazing and the wrap was not overwhelming or doughy. They even sell these cute water bottles with the store logos. Ok if there was a rewards card mine would be filled like 100x now haha. I'm literally at this Tacoria like every day. Funny enough I hated Tacoria when it first came out but everybody kept ordering it in masses to my job. Long story short, tried it again a month or so ago and fell in love. Came to the Yelp event at this location and it was bomb and I've been a frequent "flyer" ever since. I'm a basic b and continue to get the same thing each time haha -- brown rice pollo asado burrito bowl with chips and sometimes I'll add in the Brussels sprouts. The *clap* food *clap* is *clap* like *clap* crack lol well I've never had that but if I did I'm sure the addictive quality would be like almost the same. Anyway, this place tops chipotle. The burrito box is just so filling I can only eat half. The brown rice is really good actually and not an earthy grainy taste. Good portion size. The chicken is very tender. Love the combo of the sour cream and spicy sauce on top. Makes for a perfect bite each time. Love love love the Brussel sprouts -- sweet yet bitter at the same time and charred to perfection. The chips yesssss homemade check check not too salty check check. In addition, the manager is wonderful. Always pleasant and cracking jokes. He has a great relationship with his customers and really all the staff meets the same standard. Now I can say it's better to go in the evenings when it's packed. Only because unfortunately the two times I've gone in the midday or before the dinner crowd my food wasn't as yummy. One day the chips were a bit doughy, pale looking, and cold. Next time my bowl was missing the spicy sauce and rice had crunchy bits throughout and onions were a bit stronger than usual. But this location is new and I think they were/are in the process of hiring additional cooks so the benefit of the doubt has been given....and they did remake my bowl on a future visit correctly:) Plus the location is awesome besides circling for parking and the music is a vibe if you dine in. First time ever at a Tacoria and it did not disappoint. We were greeted right away by the friendly staff as soon as we walked in. We came with our whole family and ordered a bunch of stuff. Had three of the burrito box..one with Brussels sprouts, one with carne asada (steak) and one was beyond tacorizo (vegan) and it was all very delicious. Portion was beyond generous as well. We also ordered the guacamole and that one some of the best guacamole ever! The chips were surprisedly delicious. Very crispy and fresh! Definitely not your stale chips! I also had a few bites of the chicken quesadilla my son had and that was really good! Cheesy and loaded with tasty chicken! Overall it was a good experience. And oh, I loved their sauce bar! If you're in the area try this taco spot. The tacos were generously stuffed and delicious. Be cautious if you eat slowly because the pollo tinga tacos may fall apart but still yummy. If you like guacamole theirs tasted fresh so I'd recommend to add on your tacos or order a side. I'm not asking for much, but it's just....meh. Also the portion side is like 2 ounces - not that it matters because I barely even finish it. The mexican corn, for the price (even at a measly $3), seems small. Just make it $4 and you get two cobs. Also wish they had more "small bites" option. Idea would be like add some kind of Mexican chili that you could scoop with chips. The Ugly: Actually nothing to report. I am a big guy, and pretty full after eating 1 burrito. If I had a suggestion, can they SLICE the burrito in half to make it easier to eat. Maybe it is just me, but I like eating from the middle (half) towards the ends so that my burrito isn't falling apart. Otherwise, I also have to say the people working there are super super friendly. I've been a big fan of Tacoria since they opened their OG location when I was a senior at Rutgers. So excited they finally opened their Hoboken location so I don't have to drive to JC for their delicious food. Service was super fast. I placed an online order on a Saturday night and I was notified 5 minutes after that my order was ready. I ordered the polla tinga burrito box and added golden avocado as an additional protein. The place was packed when we came and the good news you can quickly order on the iPad and wait for your food. The juices are delicious so try the juices they have in the back. They take the extra step with the burritos and toast them on the hot press. The nachos are also kicked up from what you would get at Qdoba. Tacoria, founded by a group of friends from Rutgers, recently opened their newest location in Hoboken just this past December! They are known for their fresh ingredients and exciting authentic Mexican flavors. Their menu is also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free friendly! I had the full-size viva la nachos with carne asada and guacamole, paired with guava and limonada drinks. The full-size nachos could easily feed 3-4 people, whereas the pie-size nachos is satisfying for 1-2. The nacho chips were freshly made (you can literally watch the nacho chip machine behind the counter) and taste amazing--completely gluten-free (thank you corn), warm, browned, and crisped to perfection. The guava and limonada drinks were refreshing, with my favorite being the limonada due to the nice balance of sweetness and tartness. Also, love the cute little salsa station with options of salsa verde, smokey roja, habanero, and valentina. This Tacoria location is busy and popular already, with a staff sooo friendly you can feel all their smiles underneath the masks!
