Let me start by saying I've been a long time Taco Time lover. I haven't been in in a while, so I decided to stop by the 38th St. location with my daughter for a burrito. The man who took our order was so friendly. Her food was delicious. My complaints are that they got rid of the cool soda machine where you can pick your flavors and mix them (I'm assuming this location had the machine that other others had), and that they don't have the self serve hot sauce pump available. Those were a couple of things that made Taco Time a bit cooler. Otherwise, always fresh and solid food. read more

Very long wait, food was not what I ordered. Ordered pinto beans burrito received with beef, same with the tostadas salad, they gave me beef I ordered beans. Last order was supposed to be a bean burrito meal and it was a beef taco and fries not spicy tots. Not a good day. Co- workers were not happy to receive the food. Paid $26 and staff was disappointed, I saw the person at the drive thru check my bags 3 times then someone threw out the bean burrito gave a taco instead. Wow this is the second time at this location and still not good. This will be my last. Sorry service is not what it should be. Quality was not good either. Taco Time is the ideal "fast food" spot. Everything is fresh, local and DELICIOUS! I get the crisp burritos most of the time because you can never go wrong, but the classic burrito is the perfect lunch time choice. They are quick and the people are very kind. I was at Taco Time on south 38th and Pine in Tacoma Washington around 1:45pm on Tuesday February 17th 2026. The food was real good, but the service was terrible. The employee her name is Nancy she was so rude. My daughter went to the counter to ask for a to go container, Nancy walked by 3 different times and didn't even acknowledge her. My daughter got upset with her attitude so she walked out. I then walked up to the counter to ask her what her name was, and she asked why I needed to know her name and I told her so I would know who served us. Came around 9:20pm ordered our food had no problem ordering our food once we got to the to pay we waited 15 minutes to even pay when we try to pay they said my card was not working and I said well, My card has money so there should be no problem with my card. The manager, Rachel stepped in and said that if we had another form of payment and we said no, and she was saying well, we can't do nothing about it and rather throw away the food then give it to us when we had money to pay, and it was their fault their system was not working, even though they didn't say that their system was down before we ordered our food. Had us waste our time and left us without any food. Her attitude was unacceptable as a manager and couldn't handle when things are under control. The guy who took our order was nice and trying to help the situation, but she was just being rude. By the time we got to the window 20 minutes had past by. The food is delicious. I especially love the chicken. This is a great place to go if YOU want to be in control of how hot and spicy you want your food to be. I recommend Taco Time if someone in your party says, "I don't want anything spicy." It is very clean inside the restaurant. The staff is very kind. The reason I am taking a star off is the tiny portion. It's like they know I shouldn't overeat. I paid around $8 plus tax for a chicken taco salad. It was lettuce, sliced tomato's, grated cheddar, and chicken plus salsa and dressing. It was the size I would prefer when I am eating with friends because I want to be with them, even though I am not hungry. To be plain, I had room for dessert. I never have room for dessert. I almost bought one of their ice cream sandwiches, but they were $5.49 + tax and I already blew my budget on the salad. read more

How does someone manage to make chili taste like nothing? I shared a few items with friends including the veggie taco, the fish taco, and beef taco. All of them tasted completely unseasoned. Came here for a lunch with my son 2/6/22, 38th St location. The Good- The food was good. A lot of meat and cheese and fixings. Tots were hot and the gentlemen who took our order was friendly, a bit hurried, but polite overall. The Bad- Prices are steep. 12$ 2 taco meal and a 13$ soft taco meal cost me almost 30$. Hard to want to stop in a lot with prices like those. Drive thru was busy and they seemed understaffed. The Ugly- Overall cleanliness of the place was definitely lacking. As you can see in pics, floor in bathroom was disgusting, I washed my hands after washing my hands dirty. There were multiple tables inside with random sauce, ketchup and jalapeño sides on them just left from other customers. The Skinny- Good tasting tacos, but with the prices and cleaning issues I would be hard pressed to come bak here again. Seemed the drive thru was getting all the attention, causing corners to be cut in the main eating area. Makes me wonder how the food prep and making stations look. I just got back from a 9 state healing generational trip with my father, brother, and husband. Taco time has been a favorite in my family for multiple generations, Every time they come out to visit, it's a big deal. Let's go to grandma's and mother's favorite old spot, TACO TIME. To finish off the whole 2 week big deal, I mean family reunion, hot springs, the GREAT AMERICAN plains, Vegas, California BIG DEAL. This fast food restaurant has been a staple in our family since I can remember. Always loved the fresh produce, crispy lettuce, bright tomatoes, delicious sauces, and not to mention the crispy beef tacos yum. I've Posted and bragged to all the family members every time I would eat there, and they couldn't. I was always proud to bring all my friends and family to the first time to try this delicious Pacific Northwest jewel of fast foods. Then today happened. I have never been more disgusted, more repulsed, by a family favorite, then today. Not only once did my husband get home to bring me the food that he picked up on his way from work to home for lunch, but then Crispy burritos were literally soggy. Limp and still white and cold in the middle. It seems like the hot sauce had changed. And the natural soft taco. We didn't even eat because it was so full of just nothing. There was no Crisp lettuce. No juicy tomato. It looked like a slop you would get in a nineteen 80s High school lunch cafeteria. My absolutely glowing mood went from epic to terribly disappointed. I don't eat very many fast food places because I have so many allergies and issues in this world. This was one of the last places I could eat. Please don't turn into a big Franchise. mega Branch. This is my Taco Time. Fast, clean and friendly they run a long line at lunch without keeping you waiting too long. But at peak plan a possible 10 minutes. Worth it, yeaaahhhhh. In season try the shrimp tacos - heaven. Ok, so the salad is too much, ask for less. They aim to please. Order anything on the menu and be happy. I am currently in a crispy bean taco rut, but had some excellent chicken Nacho's with my daughter the other night. Try the App. It's pretty user friendly - tip: watch your cactus fill and turn off the use button until your ready. I use this for when the hubby is along and eats a large entree. Last night I saved $6.29 so it pays. The service here is really friendly, the kitchen (what I can see) is clean and the employees are keeping it clean and sanitized. I am comfortable eating inside. Not a complaint against the food, it's still above-average Mexican-inspired food. I especially like their burritos and soft tacos. But it's their new app I hate! They replaced their easy tap-to-pay app with one that's like all the other fast-food apps.."buy this buy that this is on sale only if you use the app order ahead, blah blah blah etc. etc. etc"..none of which I ever do. My experience with fast-food apps is if you order ahead you still have to wait in line and the food is almost never ready or else it's stone cold. earlier today me and my girlfriend came and ordered $40.73 worth of food, including the new spicy tots, we presumed it came with the spicy ranch as well. we got out the drive thru and immediately parked so we could make sure all our food was there since it was such a big order, everything was correct except we didn't get the spicy ranch. i said i'd go inside and brought my wallet just incase the ranch was never included and needed to pay. when i got to the counter and told the young boy, he said "oh you they didn't give you the ranch?" and went walked around the back, he came back quick and said "she claims you did" i said absolutely not, and raised my voice, so she could hear me in the back, that she can come look in my lexus if she'd like. she comes whipping around the corner, without a single word, with 1 single spicy ranch, arm extended, and a stern face of irritation. i took it and said it should be two (because me and my girlfriend both got spicy mexi fry's) but took her smug attitude as a sign that she was stressed and i didn't want to bother her. my problem here is the gross lack of accountability, immediate insinuation that we are scheming to get more of a product we have yet to even know if we like yet, seeing as we haven't even tried yet. i get that they were busy, and it looked like either short staffed or in a shift change, however the attitude given to me is the complete opposite of what should be occurring, especially with the amount of money we spend their consistently. that being said, location is pretty, and the food that day was very good. food service isn't easy, and i was formerly employed with taco time. i know why the cost of items like ranch matter, but i payed for it, period end of story. the attitude and lack of understanding, accountability, or even proper compensation ( 1 ranch instead of the 2 that should have been in my order ) is incredibly disappointing. read more

Terrible today ordered the taco burger and it wasn't made the it's suppose to be. Less of the special dressing, cheese was like plastic and the meat was gross. It was barely warm and my tongue was tingly shortly after I ate it and I never had that happen before and I had indigestion and I thought I was going to get food poisoning because of how I felt after I ate it... The downfall of this location is the small parking lot and the even harder parking lot to get in and out of. The Drive threw can be tight for larger vehicles. the food, usually fresh and made to order. At times this location under cooks the mexi fries and will skimp on the salt. I usually order the same items each time I come in (2-3 times a week). A #15 chicken, a crunchy taco light beef with extra cheese, and a crisp beef burrito with a side of ranch. It's about 17.00 each time and more often than not, worth it. In recent the orders have been wrong in one way or another. I get home and find the error. When I have attempted to call the store to discuss, the phone continues to ring with no answer... One of these days, I should pull over, check my order and go inside to discuss my issue... Overall, this place is Fresh and Local. They do have that going for them. read more

i came here and got two meals and i don't live close and i got home and went two take out my food and only had one of my meals so i drove all the way back, by the time i got there it had been almost an hour since i got my food so now i'm upset that one of my meals is now cold and we talked to the girl at the window she was very friendly and they gave me the food i didn't get and a little dessert i asked for a manager and the lady came back and said that the manager said all that she could do was give use a complimentary card for a free item. i will not go to this taco time again. i work in customer service and i understand that mistakes happen however you should not just correct the mistake made. Being a member of a management team means you go above and beyond to make your employees mistakes right. the customer should never have to ask to talk to a manager. the manager should at least have the common courtesy to come talk to the customer when they do ask. read more

This was my first visit to Taco Time. After dining there, I really don't see myself coming back. Ordered a chicken burrito. There was way too much sour cream and guacamole. The off beat ratio between ingredient made the texture awful. Plus, the salsa tastes like it's out of a jar. My boyfriend ordered the mexi platter. For what these two combos cost, we could have gotten much better quality somewhere else. Your tacos, burritos, etc. come with tater tots...? I'll agree that they're nicely crisp, but still not the appropriate side to Mexican food. Don't waste your time with this place. Those who enjoy Taco Bell wouldn't even like this place. read more

I was expecting something like Taco Bell because I had never been to taco time before. I was really happy to find this place because it's amazing! They are environmentally conscious which makes me happy. Most of their products can be turned into compost and they have recycled plastic. The food is also really delicious for fast food and they have vegetarian options! I got the #8 which was the Baja taco. I got the bean one because I wanted to try the veggie version. Let's start by saying this the woman that checked me out and prepared my bag of food was phenomenal. I haven't had taco time in I don't know how long but I wanted the crisp burrito so bad so I went. I ordered the crisp burrito bean meal. The man that took my order wasn't paying attention and he overcharged me and I just stood there and I waited for him to correct it and then he finally realized it and corrected it but let's talk about the food. The tater tot's were over fried but the burrito was good. What it is, is their sauce! that ranch sauce that they have, I love that ranch dip whatever it is ranch sour cream or something I love it. So I will give this taco time a 3 because their customer service from that one woman was just outstanding. I will try them out again I don't know well I don't really have taco time cravings that much but we shall see and let's hope this review gets more stars next time read more

Drove out to Tacoma to meet my boyfriend for his lunch break. Not wanting to go to far from his work place, we settled on this place. This was my first time ever eating at Taco Time so I just followed my bfs lead and ordered the same thing he did. We both got a soft chicken habanero burrito, a drink, and a side. Drink machine was really cool. Lot of variety to pick from. The side I had was a small bowl of chili. Average tasting and wish it came out hotter (in temperature and taste). The burrito though! Lots of flavor, tender chicken, and a really nice spicy habanero salsa in it. Would definitely recommend this to any spice loving, habanero and bean eating, burrito enthusiast. read more

I went back and was served by the manager that I spoke to on the phone so my meal was in fact comped - but it was missing an item again! I should have checked the bag before leaving, obviously... my fault. I'm writing this now because I just got home and upon biting into my messy, poorly made burrito, I discovered a piece of hair in my mouth :( SICK. Just go to another location.
