Flautists Poblanos (4 piece)

Yummy food. Flautas Poblano are vegetarian friendly. On the pricey side but definitely worth trying out. Ambiance and service were great too.

La diabla

Reservation was easy to make. Parking is easy. View and location is amazing. Half of our party got there early and got seated. We asked to be moved to the bar which was empty. I don't think the waiter was happy about that, he seemed annoyed the entire time. I asked for the Tulum drink and they were out of it, but well after I saw a coconut being served to another table, i was very confused. The Carna asada plates were delicious, but I do wish that they came with rice. Tacos gobernados had undercooked bell peppers but overcooked shrimp. The tortilla was good though. The guacamole was yummy. La diabla drink was refreshing and delicious. All the drinks at the table were good. Our total came to $245 for two Carne Asada, shrimp(governador) tacos, ribeye burrito, guacamole, 2 flans and five drinks(one of them being a double). Overall probably would not go back.

Good food and nice vibe. Amazing service, the waiter was the real show. We got the shrimp quesadilla and barbacoa tacos.

Left the plate clean lol

My tacos were very delicious... the spicy drink was okay.... Service was excellent..... I loved it

Ambiance is 10/10. A very well put together restaurant and decor located right on the water. Worth going if you're in Tacoma. And very quiet. The drinks are phenomenal and the staff is professional and friendly. The food was surprisingly very clean and good. It's hard to find great Mexican food in the Seattle area but the steak and shrimp tacos were awesome. Highly recommend and will return.

I have mixed reviews about this place. I would give it 3.5 stars. When we first checked in we asked to sit outside and were told there was no more outdoor seats available even tho there was tables out there that were empty. But no worries I thought maybe they just seat people at certain tables and not those. Maybe about 5-10 minutes after being seated, people were sat at the empty table that was out there. I thought this was strange and did not make sense why it was not offered to us. We ordered horchata which was delicious but unfortunately there was a bug crawling in mine. The ceviche was good. Just a little bit too much mayo on the tostada but otherwise very good. The guacamole was very good. And the beans it came with was also delicious. I do wonder if they give you more tostadas if you ask. It only came with four. The wagyu barbacoa burritos were delicious. The wagyu tamale was good but the top of it was burnt or something because it was so hard my fork wouldn't even go through it. Other than that it was very good. The masa was not dry at all and there was plenty of meat. Overall I think I would try this place again. The food and drinks tasted good. I will say it just doesn't seem very welcoming. Our waiter also seemed distracted.

Tacos de Barbacoa

Location is near Tacoma Museum of Glass by the waterway where boats are docked and ambience of the restaurant is nice modern style. Food portions was ok but the food and service were pretty fast and good. Ended up getting these 2 items listed below. (Flautas) Corn tortillas stuffed with mildly seasoned halal chicken, rolled, and fried to perfection. Garnished with fresh lettuce, green onions, queso fresco, and generously smothered with our signature tangy sauce. (Tacos de Barbacoa) 3 Shredded wagyu beef tacos served with broth on the side, filled with barbacoa and cheese

Check out their happy hour and consider timing your visit on a third Thursday when the Tacoma Museum of Glass is free to enter from 5-8pm! I had the birria tacos (4/5 stars), a crunchy appetizer (4/5 stars), and the most impressive part was definitely the strawberry coconut cocktail that I had (5/5 stars, I was extremely impressed).

Carne con Chile

My wife and I visited Indita Mia Friday night for dinner. We were both pleasantly surprised by how nice the atmosphere was. The service was quick and very welcoming. We had Sam and Summer take care of us and they offered us nothing but top notch service. The drinks were great and the food was even better. My wife got the enchiladas and I got the carne con chile. I was especially happy with the quality of the tortillas. We will definitely be recommending this restaurant to family and friends and can't wait to go back!

Indita Mia is an absolute gem in Tacoma. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the beautiful and unique decor--especially the centerpiece bar with its tree-like structure and woven basket lights that give the space a warm, inviting glow. The food was outstanding across the board. We started with fresh guacamole and crispy tostadas that set the tone for the rest of the meal. Every dish that followed was just as impressive. The Vampiritos were packed with flavor, the tacos were perfectly crafted with fresh tortillas and tender, juicy meats, and the quesabirria tacos with consommé were rich and satisfying. Each bite was layered with authentic Mexican flavor and just the right touch of creativity. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Everything came out fresh, fast, and beautifully plated. You can tell this place takes pride in both its food and its experience. Indita Mia is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Five stars without hesitation.

Indita omelette (but sub the chilaquiles rojo for chilaquiles verde.. you won't regret it!!!)
Christine M.

This definitely is a hidden gem (hidden enough for me to struggle finding it, but worth it!! Here's what we tried: 1. Indita omelette: described as an "Organic eggs omelette filled with chilaquiles, onions, cilantro, queso fresco, over a black bean sauce and drizzled with sour cream." and HOLY WOW this was so amazing. I would come back just for this!! Pro tip: we asked them to sub the chilaquiles salsa inside with salsa verde instead and this was and incredible combo with the salsa rojo on outside!!! You have to come here just for this dish frfr! 2. Steak and eggs: this was just it days, a piece of thin steak and a side of eggs (refer to pic!). I love that the eggs are organic, and this dish was yummy, but next time I would get something more flavorful/saucy. However, the REFRIED BEANS WERE TO DIE FOR!!!! Wow, they had a spicy flavor to them and were the perfect refried bean texture. I would honestly order a whole plate of just those. 3. Cafe de olla: I'm not a coffee drinker but my friend ordered this and wow!!! I loved it. I could taste cinnamon and other spices in it, it didn't feel artificial, wasn't too bitter or too sweet, and felt light. If you haven't tried this style of coffee, this is your chance! And what a great price too ($3.50, a steal)! 4. Concha (with Nutella and strawberry): YUM! Our table shared and order of this for dessert. The dough on the concha was not dry (I feel like that's usually the downside of many concha's), and the pairing with Nutella and strawberries was so good!! Our waitress said to eat it like a sandwich, so delish! Other notes: The staff was so kind! They spoke Spanish and English, were very efficient but didn't rush us, and were able to give great recommendations! The ambiance of the place was such a vibe. It was like the kind of place that you can dress casual or nice and you'll fit in and feel comfortable. Also, the playlist was such a bop!! It was like chill lofi mixes meets club songs, and fit the vibes so well. I would definitely recommend this place and come again!

You order at…read morethe counter and they have a great great salsa/sides bar (think pickled veggies and onions, slaw, limes for garnish, jalapenos) and if you're eating in, they give you chips while you wait; your food is brought right to your table. I'm making it my goal to try everything on the menu but it's going to take a while. The burritos are huge and delicious and loaded with fillings and they don't skimp on the meat. Birria and Chile Colorado are my favorites, chicken is plentiful but tends to be a tiny bit on the bland side so the salsas come in handy for that. The platos are HUGE. The refried beans are the best I've had anywhere. Tacos are also great. Have not tried the fish ones yet but I have a friend who's currently addicted so I'm assuming they're good as well. I have not encountered a miss on the menu yet. Looking forward to my next visit!

We had adobada, asada and chicken tacos, added a side of fried onion and serrano pepper. The adobada meat was ok, chicken was good and our favorite was the asada. I didn't like the default salsa they put on the tacos, would've preferred just onion and cilantro. In fact I didn't like any of the salsas they offered, the green salsa was the only decent one and I'm sure the orange looking salsa was on its way out, it tasted and smelled funky. Customer service was great. We might come back just for asada tacos but maybe not.

Love the dark aesthetic and chill vibes. Everyone was friendly and food was excellent. My favorite dishes are the rib eye tacos and birria beef tacos. Rib eye steak was tender and had a hint of that char grill flavor. The birria tacos and consomé was also really flavorful. We enjoyed the tequila flaming fajita and the mini flame show as well lol. The chicken and shrimps were good but similar to my experience at the South Center location, the beef was really chewy (like over cooked). I also think they served way more veggies compared to meat proportions for their fajitas. My Dad got the burrito especial with grilled chicken and it was huge! He thought it was alright and got sick of it pretty quick because of how much rice and beans there were. We also ordered the margarita flights which were served in these cute mini glasses. I thought the pineapple coconut had the strongest alcohol taste whereas the passion fruit-guava and pina azul tasted like juice (I'm not a big drinker so I thought it was perfect). The pina azul tasted similar to a flat Baja Blast from Taco Bell with a hint of alcohol. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here. The only negative thing is we made a reservation at 8:00PM and came early at 7:30PM; at check in, they said at first we could get in sooner since we arrived but then quickly was told to actually wait until our reservation time (and that's totally fine and makes sense since we reserved for 8PM!!). I was just confused because the group that were walk-ins waiting got to go in before us. There wasn't anyone else waiting for a table and by the time they sat us, turns out there was plenty of open tables available... I just thought they'd want people to be seated sooner if they've arrived and had tables available since it was already 8PM and they close at 9PM lol.

We were in the area and were feeling hungry so we decided to stop by. The parking was pretty packed but had a spot or two so we were able to secure a spot. Once we entered, there was a sign that you could clearly see that said wait to be seated and it wasn't long until someone came by. We were greeted by a female hostess who smiled and professionally lead us to a booth to sit at for dinner. The menu was pretty extensive but not overwhelming as they had their alcohol drinks separate from their menu. A male server stopped by with some chips and salsa which I think is now fighting for best house made salsa that I've had in Washington. We ordered the combination dinner, I got mine with the tamale and tostada with chicken while my boyfriend got the chimichanga. We got another refill of chips which were not too salty and the perfect size to get a good chunk of salsa. We eventually had two waiters who was a young gentleman and an older gentleman but they were both so courteous and friendly. This was also probably the fastest we've gotten our food at a Mexican restaurant as it arrived maybe 8-10 minutes after we placed our order. The plates arrived nice and hot with the food portions being huge and the presentation was lovely! I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken as it felt more on the dry side for me but I also just don't like white meat and my boyfriend said it wasn't dry at all. I did love the amount of toppings on the tostada as it was stacked high with fresh ingredients on a bed of refried beans which was seasoned perfectly. The tamale was also absolutely delicious and I have had many tamales and I can say this tamale is immaculate. My boyfriend's chimichanga was delicious too from the bite I had and how he cleaned his plate. I can vouch that this place is authentic (dated a Mexican guy and their family spoiled me with amazing food and parties) and my boyfriend agrees that this spot is the perfect place for amazing Mexican food for those who are wanting to try or are hesitant. The staff here are super friendly and professional, they will even pack up your food! It just felt like going to a friend's to enjoy amazing vibes, fantastic food, and a overall good time. Our waiter, Mark, was incredibly attentive -- checking in regularly, keeping drinks topped off, and making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Exactly the kind of hospitality that makes a meal memorable. We started with the Guacamole Sampler -- Traditional, Carlito's Way, and Austin Style -- served with warm housemade chips and their signature salsa. Every style had its own personality, and the flavors were spot‑on across the board. A fantastic way to kick off the meal. For my entrée, I went with the Seasonal Al Pastor Tamales, and wow... this dish is a true taste of the south. The ancho, guajillo, and achiote citrus slow‑roasted pork was rich and tender, perfectly balanced by cumin black beans, pickled pineapple, white onion, and serrano salsa. Every bite had depth, heat, and brightness. My wife ordered the Smoked Chicken Tomatillo Soup -- hominy, red bell peppers, carrots, onions, chipotle, buttermilk crema, cilantro, and blue corn tortilla strips. Served with fresh housemade sopes, it was comforting, flavorful, and beautifully layered. A perfect bowl for any season. We also shared the Navajo Fry Bread -- honestly, this should be listed under desserts. Warm, soft, slightly sweet, and absolutely delicious. The overall vibe was relaxed and inviting. It can get a bit noisy -- especially for someone like me who's hard of hearing -- but the energy is still warm and enjoyable. Cactus never disappoints.
