This is a TacoTime express operating alongside an A&W. I ordered a Big Juan burrito a particular way, and the order taker repeated my order in a convoluted method to the kitchen. I reemphasized that I did not want sour cream twice, instead receiving an extra helping of it. Mexi-fries weren't that great. The restaurant is inside a gas station, so take that into consideration of the overall atmosphere. Next time, I'll stick to A&W, since the food seems to be better and more thought out. read more

I don't even think they deserve one star. I found so many hairs in my food. I told staff and I was ignored and they didn't seem to care and told me to wait in line for a refund. After doing so all they had to say was that they couldn't give me a refund because the manager wasn't there.... they didn't even care and looked at me like I was dumb. Disgusting and rude staff and on top of that I couldn't even get my money back I really don't know how this place is still open. read more

I grew up with Taco Time and enjoy thre good. It's one of the better fast food chains. This one is an exception. This is in a gas station. The counter is staffed by AW Rootbeer folks. The crispy meat burritos were not crispy. The food was terrible We will not retro. . read more

Honestly I created an account just to say how horrible of an experience this was. The food was cold, and there was hair in my food. The lady who took my money was rude and the manager was as well. It took more than 15 mins to order and more than 20 minutes to get my food, and when we got the food the lady who gave it to us was rude and dismissive, on top of all that they had little to none of the items actually available to order. 1/5 if I could give it 0 I could read more

Bad taco time is still preferable to taco bell... Google showed opening at 9 a.m. but they opened at 9:30... Super soft taco had so much refried beans as to overpower all other ingredients... You're going to want to read this... So I've just spent a week with my family in Yellowstone, huddled in an RV that we rented from "Cruise America" in Salt Lake City. 5 of us. Talk about uncomfortable, but that's another review (that I'll be posting immediately after this one). Driving back to SLC to return the hooptie, we stop at the Flying J truck stop across the street and I notice the signs for Taco Time. "Oh Joy!" I've heard wonderful things about Taco Time and decide to journey across the highway to partake in the delightful treat I've heard so much about. Upon entering the run-down gas station, there is an A&W / Taco Time combo inside to the left. I look the menu over and honestly am not impressed at all by the selection. Maybe none of them have choices? There were maybe 2-3 "tacos" and 2-3 "burritos." None of which even looked good in the pictures on the menu. Each combo meal comes with a small cup of "Mexican fries." MEXICAN... (tater tots). Did you read that? Look at it again. TATER TOTS. Since when are tater tots, Mexican? I mean... I love me some tater tots so I ate the #*%$ out of those Mexican fries... but still. There was one pretty girl at the register, and one cook. The cook was so slow he literally made one item at a time. I watched. Once the complete order was ready, whoever's item was cooked first was $#*t outta luck because it was cold by the time they took a bite. There was a family of 6 before us so it took forever to even get a chance to order food. So my son, being smarter than me, ordered a cheeseburger and fries from the A&W menu. I ordered "The Big Juan" (supposed to be some kind of combo burrito I'm assuming). I got a combo, just for the tater tots, and small drink and paid over $12 for the small meal for two. The food took about 10 minutes to cook, so we had time to people watch. Remember in elementary school when you had to read "Lord of the Flies?" Yeah that book has nothing to do with this restaurant, but it sounded like something I could work into this review since the place was so full of flies. There were at least 2-dozen of them flying around the dining room. No idea how anyone could eat their food in there. And I hated that book. We elected to take the food to go, and eat on the road. Now Salt Lake City is about 1.5 hours south of the restaurant, so naturally we grabbed the food and hit the road with no worries. We have gas, have food... we're good, right? WRONG I unwrap the burrito and take a bite. The rice was not fully cooked and each bite had hard pieces of uncooked rice, crunching between my teeth. There was next to NO flavor when it came to the "meat" they used, not really sure if it was beef or what. The beans were unlike any I've ever eaten at any Mexican restaurant, and I grew up in Southern California where every corner has a different Mexican restaurant. No seasoning on anything. Everything was bland. It was horrible. I ate maybe 3 bites and I was done. Or so I thought... 5 minutes down the road, the burrito was calling my name, but not the uneaten portion. It was calling me from within. First there was a slight rumble. Seconds later there was a larger grumble. About a minute later my stomach flipped over and I have never clenched my cheeks together harder. I can hold it, I'm an adult... There's construction on the 15 freeway south and every slight bump in the road I was praying to God, Jesus, Buddha, Allah, Ghandi and Tom Cruise to help me keep it in. Got all the way to a Walmart parking lot, and of course the bathroom was out of order up front. I walked through the store as fast as I could, but with a slight limp, and even had to act like I was in some sort of pain to hide the fact that I was trying to speed-walk while full on clinching my cheeks and legs together to avoid creating a brown river on aisle 3. Went to the drive through for 1 soft taco and cheese tots with a diet Dr. Pepper. The drink was not diet and not even dr. Pepper. The tots didn't have cheese on them. Everything was wrong about this order. It took over 20 minutes. There was only one customer inside. Why it took 20 minutes I've no idea. We just decided to just leave rather than have them fix the order. if you stop at this oasis and you want a taco be prepared to wait and risk your order being wrong. read more

The first time I went, they served me a microwaved burrito that was hotter than cheese baked inside of a potato wrapped in tinfoil and then thrown into the fires of Mt. Doom. As impressed as I was with them walking to Mordor and back just to get me a pork burrito, I'm afraid the quality just wasn't there. The second time I went, there was a group of people waiting in line in front of us, and the chashier took 15 minutes before deciding to ring them all up. Before she was finished with their orders, someone from the back told her to stop taking orders for the night, which was unfortunate considering that they weren't supposed to close for another 30 minutes, and there were probably 10 other people waiting to have their orders taken. read more

Scary place, others have the same experience I had, pretty sure they don't care. Very slow service, food was ok. They had no Picante Sauce (you have to ask how this could happen). Very hard to get someone to ask for a little help. Flies EVERYWHERE. Drove us clear out of this nasty place. Never seen any place with so many negative responses. Taco Time should get rid of this place. Could raise flies and make pretty good money. Gas station (Chevron) is OK. Try Lava they have good places. read more

Tonight we dined in at the Taco Time/A&W in McCammon, ID. We are a family of 6 with little ones which often leaves others feeling anxious. Tonight however, we were welcomed with friendly staff who were patient and accomodating. They even brought out fries before our food was ready so our kids could snack as they were waiting! They knew the menu well, prepared our food quickly and checked on us several times to make sure all our needs were met. It made for a relaxed experience. By the end of our short visit, we felt like we were leaving old friends. Great service!!! read more

This place is usually ok. We usually come here once a year when we visit Lava Hot Springs. It's nothing special but not usually especially bad either. Today we ordered the super nachos with ground beef and I've never ordered that here before. We asked how big it was and they said it was "huge." When we got it it was anything but huge. The chips didn't fill the plate it came on. We brought this up to the staff and there was one gentleman there who wanted to fix our order but the other lady who worked there said no. Apparently she is higher up than he is because he didn't seem to think he could do anything about it. read more

I have been here a few times and they are very nice. The food was good for the middle of nowhere. The tables were a bit messy but we were coming after a lunch rush. They were even able to cater for me. They hooked me up for 100 people with hot food. read more

The worst fast food experience I've ever had. We went through the drive through because our kids were exhausted after a day at lava hot springs and we just wanted something fast. From the time we got in line to the time we got our food was more than 30 minutes.... And there was only one small car in front of us... And it looked like they had a very small order. The car behind us was so fed up after 30 minutes that they drove away. By the time we got our food, everything was just thrown in a big bag with fries spilling out... Just a giant mess. My husband had ordered a diet drink and they just handed it to him and said, "I don't know if this is diet, or regular, or root beer. Good luck man." They didn't have salad dressing and the salad was shredded iceberg lettuce with a few pieces of old chicken. It was such a bad experience that I asked to speak to the manager which I don't do.
