It really doesn't get better than Taco P. I've been coming here for years and on a recent trip to McAllen, I had to stop in. I love the renovations! The renovations could have well been 5 years ago but the flat screens and new furnishings make this a much more pleasant place to dine in. I got my most trusted taco, the Matamoros. As always, a great blend of flavors. Over at the salsa bar, the complimentary fresh chips and avocado salsa are not to be missed. No strong feelings on the North 10th vs. South 10th locations. Either one will treat you well if you're looking for a casual plate. read more

Taco Palenque North 10th - Exterior - Mexican Near Me - Mcallen, Texas

Very disappointing experience at Taco Palenque. The order was not handled with much attention to detail, and when I brought up the issue, the response was rude and dismissive. Mistakes happen, but the way customers are treated when addressing those mistakes matters. I would recommend being cautious and double-checking your order before leaving. Definitely not the level of service I expected. Extremely rude and dismissive crew that doesnt have a welcoming attitude. As if im an inconvenience to them. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone, S.10th has much better customer service skills. read more

One thing I absolutely love about the Valley is the authentic Mexican food. Living in Ohio, it's hard to find the real deal--most places drown everything in that awful canned nacho cheese. I recently ordered chicken fajita pachos and was so disappointed. They were smothered in that same fake cheese, had just a few sad pieces of chicken, and nothing underneath. No flavor, no substance--just gross. read more

3 times in a row we've gone at least 30 minutes past 6am and they are still closed, even though they claim to open at 6am. Food is good, reasonable prices, friendly staff, but come on man, some of us go to work early and we're here wasting our time driving to this location just so it can be closed. Either change the information on your website and your front door or stop the misinformation. Next time I go I'll take video Update: make it 4 times. Added videos. read more

I Love coming here, the food is always excellent. Gabriela and staff are always great in making sure we have an excellent dining experience.

I guess we are stubborn, we like to order food to go; and every time we order food, always we get it wrong. Missing plates, missing food, or missing the desserts. We are fed up with it. Since I'm the one picking the food ; when I get home it is when I find out something is missing. I used to drive back to get was missing . Since I learned the lesson, I checked the food before leaving the restaurant. And undoubtedly something is missing, I had spoken with the manager every time . And seems they don't care . They say "That they will fix it ". And here I go again ; and happens again . So I had to write this review hoping someone hire up can read this and put more attention to the situation . read more

I cannot believe the lack of customer service from this place. After forgetting a drink and side in my order, they ignored my calls and insinuated I was lying about the missing items and giving exaggerated facial expressions upon my initial complaint. Very disappointing. read more

So this place is a hit or miss. I was visiting the area and went several times to the drive through and inside to eat. For both breakfast and dinner. First if you go through the drive through the menu does not have all the breakfast taco options. They also take a pretty long time to actually give you your food. However the tacos I've had have been hot and good. The panchos I ordered to go once were soggy and the chips weren't edible at all. Not sure if they gave us those because we weren't staying and the probability of us going back was low (which we didn't). However when I went inside to eat the same ponchos they were great. They also have a little nacho bar set up which is cute. However, the bathroom has a horrible smell coming out of it so we didn't end up staying inside long. read more

All the food options in this area and I was told I must come here. Honestly I was confused when I saw they had a drive thru when I arrived. Is it a chain, fast food or what. Well I must say it was so Good I would travel just to eat at one of their locations. Please come to Michigan!! Food was Great and the Fajita's were so tender & juicy!! Now I understand why I was told I must eat here while in McAllen, Texas. read more

"Fast food" category. Plate $20. Plastic utensils. The "juicy" fajitas are a few 4" strips. Well, lots of (gullible) customers. When finally served, plate cold. Plate plastic like the utensils. All impersonal and robotic. Little taste of the food. read more

Great service, good environment, good food. Taco Palenque offers a vibrant and authentic Mexican dining experience. The tacos are fresh and flavorful, made with warm tortillas and a variety of fillings like carne asada and al pastor. The salsa bar is a highlight, providing a range of spicy and mild options to complement your meal. The casual atmosphere is great for families and groups, with fast service that keeps you coming back. Prices are reasonable, making it a popular choice for casual dining. Overall, Taco Palenque delivers delicious food in a welcoming setting, perfect for taco lovers! read more

Very nice service and food was good too. Gabriella was on top of things as well. We enjoyed it.

Delicious! Voted number 1 fast food by Food & Wine. Doesn't strike me as what you think of when you think of fast food, though technically it comes out fast. We loved the fajita parillada (all steak) for 4- it's a huge portion, and comes with tortillas, rice and refried beans. I really liked the fresh made flour tortillas, and seeing them grill the meat right there. The salsa bar is also killer, with everything you could ask for. The salsa, radishes, and cabbage are great with the tacos. read more

Bad service!! I'm really disappointed about the morning manager, she doesn't care about the customers, she is always sitting either in the small office leaving customers standing and waiting to order food, this is not the first time, I will go to another Taco Palenque to have breakfast even if it farther for me read more

We absolutely love this place!!! Best food ever! Every time we come down to the valley we have to eat at Taco Palenque! We love it here!!!!

Apparently it's too difficult for the people making the food to read the order. It's not big thing, but my wife doesn't like beans IN her burrito/taco/food. But for the last 8 times we've ordered through the drive thru, there's a huge portion of beans in the burrito every time, despite the receipt even saying NO BEANS. They'll remake the food correctly, but they're completely unapologetic about it. 9/10 times they have gotten some portion of our order wrong at Drive Thru. Quality of food is great, but someone's always dropping the ball with making the orders accurate. read more

My husband found this place when he picked me up from the airport on my last time visiting him in Texas. I came all the way to the southern border of Texas to accompany him on a road trip of a lifetime driving all the way back to the west coast (the best coast!!). And he wanted to make sure I was well fed from the start of our long journey. These were the best tacos we had during our entire stay in Texas. And we drove across the entire state. The tacos here are huge, seasoned well, and bomb dot com. Funny thing is I have a friend born and raised from McAllen who now lives in Vegas and he says these are his favorite tacos ever. That's a strong seal of approval. If we ever find our way back to this part of the country we'd definitely come back. read more

Everything I order is always delicious with great flavor. Their consistency is above par, and the inside is ALWAYS spotless. This has become my new favorite for Mexican food, and I go at least twice a week. read more

Fast and friendly drive through service even though they were really busy. The fajita taco was on point!

The service was really bad here. We were ordering and the manager was rushing us to order and charged me for extra things that I didn't even want. Then the food took so long to come out. I ordered panchos with fajita and they gave me panchos with chicken. When I told him that it was fajita he took it back and just PICKED OFF THE CHICKEN and put the fajita!! I was so mad and they put another type of cheese instead of the melted cheese that I wanted and told me that I ordered the other type when I never did. My husband had ordered the street tacos and we NEVER got them. There were only 3 tables in the whole restaurant. And the workers were just sitting at a table talking and making faces at the customers that were getting upset for their food just sitting there. They took out two other peoples orders that came in after me and we still didn't get our food. Worst experience ever. And the "manager" didn't even offer to compensate anything. We had to ask for the refund and cancellation of our food! read more

Always the best service!! And will never mess up an order! They are the best taco palenque in McAllen

The beyond meat options are amazing and the chip bar is really good, i love the green sauce.

I went around 11:30 pm on a Wednesday and received the worst customer service im not sure if the young lady Sahory didn't care since it was late or she already wanted to go home but terrible customer service there were only 3 cars in the drive tru at the moment one in front me & me in the middle and the one behind me and she couldn't manage to get the orders correctly. She gave out my food to the car in the front which more than likely had already went through it and opened things, rather than asking to remake it she was handing me the order she gave out incorrectly.. I asked to have it remade and parked but not 5 min passed and a young man came and handed me which I guess was the same bag it took them nearly 30 min to get my food pretty disappointed won't be going back any time soon. read more

The food has gone downhill since it became a big business. The tortillas are uncooked, the beans are tasteless, the papa con chorizo the same, and the caldo de res was not cooked all the way. Crunchy vegetables in caldo de res with garbanzo beans instead of potatoes do not mix well. Taco Palenque is the next Taco bell but very pricey. read more

The fajitas platters are great. The flour tortillas are like the ones your mom made. Monterrey tacos are unique. Food is prepared quickly as they have the grill going at all times during their busy periods. Nice Edinburg family style setting which I love because I spent every summer in Edinburg from 1960-1971 and have been going back every year to observe the great growth of the community. read more
