Why do I always come back? Sigh... this location is convenient and they have a variety of food and beer, but that's all it has going for it. First the service- why is it that every time I come to this particular location I'm seated in the back by the restroom or where all the kids are? I can't help but think there's some discrimination going on. I understand if the restaurant was busy or we were in a huge group, but it's never been more than a group of 5 people and there's plenty of empty tables/booths that ARE NOT by the bathrooms! The hostess needs to be better trained! Servers- While servers haven't been rude...there's definitely high turnover here. I feel like our table gets a new server who messes up on our order or forgets something. There's also some type of communication issues between the servers and kitchen. Annoying. Food- inconsistent, sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad...real bad. I'll just list some of my experiences I've had the last several times I've come here - Kitchen/Server forgot my order. Server avoided me when I brought it up and did not even offer to comp my meal. Had to ask the manager to comp it! I finally got my meal when everyone else was finishing up their food! -Kitchen/Server messed up on my order. I ordered a salad with no cheese. Food comes out with cheese. Of course I ask the server if they can take it back, and bring a new salad with no cheese. The server comes back after another 20 minutes of waiting (it's a freaking salad!) with the SAME plate, but it looks like they just picked off the bleu cheese crumbles.There's still little bits of cheese on my salad, but at this point I'm hungry and I just pick it off myself. -The chips for the chips and salsa are so freaking stale. I love their salsa, but the chips are so so stale! I asked our server for a new basket of chips and they bring out a new basket of stale chips...why???? Overall, food is whatever. Perhaps the worst dining experience I have had since Covid-19. Waited a half hour only to be seated in an extremely dirty section and gross table. Ordered drinks, an app and main course all separately yet they all arrived at the same time. Took over 30 minutes. Never got drink refills or checked on. So I'm like, "ok." 10 minutes later, Brian is nowhere to be seen. Now I can see another gentleman who just came to the bar getting the same bedtime story I just received.....that guy eventually left. Now I've grown very impatient. I asked the bartender where this Brian guy was and he's still no where to be found. Soon enough I resort to asking one of the waiters if they knew where this Brian guy was and he didn't know either and began hunting for him. At this point you're probably thinking the same ish' I'm thinking: Why can't the waiters or bartender just take my order and say screw Brian right!? However, no one is smart enough to do this. After I really started to complain to one of the passing waiters AGAIN, the bartender decides to randomly take my order. "Thanks buddy, you could've done that like 20 mins ago!!!! I might actually be on my way home now but I'm stuck here watching random people drink away their stress!" No apologies. There was no sympathy from General Management. I think it's been quite a while since I've spent time at Taco Mac.. in fact, the ol' Taco Mac (now Highlands Grill) in Kennesaw used to be frequented by me back in the day.. Like waay back.. in '01-'02. but now that I'm part of the Brewniversity Club, I'll be back again soon.. BTW Why the heck did it take me all these years to join a "free" club? Okay, in my own defense, now that I think about it, I couldn't drink legally til '04 (who feels old, now?) and I've never been a huge beer drinker. But still.. I love free stuff.. Back to the topic at hand. Holy sheeit, all the big TVs! Everywhere!! For a second, I thought I was in Bob's Flat Screen TV Emporium or something. You look up in one direction and can watch 12 different screens at one time. Some of them are playing the same thing.. but still. Beautiful TVs.. put in interesting and very smart places, like above your friends' heads. "YES, I'm listening to you, I'm looking like almost directly at your forehead, aren't I?" The wings.. the waaaangs. Lemon Pepper is the ticket, of course. They're still pretty darn good. Not the best ever, but up there. The flavor is gritty, the way I like it, and not greasy. We ordered 20 wings.. and ended up getting like 30, I think. The receipt said Double.. and I could have sworn that was 10x2.. but how can I complain, when I even got to take home all the leftovers!! Their beer selection is as impressive as their TV accumulation, but you already knew that, right? I mean, it's Taco Mac, c'mon. I was intrigued by these other high tables that had three taps at the end. It was a nice looking counter-top type oblong high-boy table. Behind the bar is pretty, as well, with all the bottles lined up. I also got to try the smores brownie dessert thang.. Very good.. but rich, for sho'. I'm a little shocked by the negative reviews, but perhaps I got lucky. Or perhaps I didn't go in expecting much since I read the reviews before hand. Arrived around 645 on saturday night and we're seated promptly outside per our request. Waiter showed up quickly and got us waters while we browsed the beer list. We ordered a flight which took awhile to arrive and didn't get our order taken until it did. Ordered nachos all the way which came out pretty quickly and was delicious. Once we finished those we ordered a other round of beers and some wings. Those beers came out much quicker, as did the wings. We went with fried wings with honey chipotle sauce and they were awesome. Cooked perfectly and drenched in sauce which was just the right balance of spicy and sweet. Also comes woth one side. Waiter was friendly and checked on us frequently. This place is huge. I do like the TVs behind every booth so I can see whatever game is playing. I wonder if we're allowed to change the channel. But I think it's a model that other sports bar should copy. I do like their interior layout. However, the food here is mediocre. It's your standard American bar food. You have your burgers, sandwiches, wings, wraps, salads, and so on. For their wings, they offer baked and fried. I tried their lemon pepper baked wings. Our server was selling them pretty hard, telling us how awesome they were. They weren't awesome. The meat was super tough, and the lemon-pepper flavor didn't taste good. I ordered 10 and got sick after 6. I tried some of the Habanero BBQ wings. They tasted much better. It's too bad I ordered lemon pepper though. I recommend avoiding the lemon pepper flavor at all costs. Their other foods taste okay. I think this place is good to watch a game and have some beer, not to eat. I give it 2.5 stars. read more

If you win the city of Atlanta - LA of the East Coast - in beer, then you simply win a 4 star rating!!!!!! The owners are millionaires because they are the best at one thing - which is pretty simple. If you don't like the beer you bought, its not their fault - they did not make it. Just order another one. Order their chicken wings - big, plump, juicy, served hot and crispy - no small wings here The rest of the menu is totally FORGETTABLE. People tell me the burgers are good, however, that is not a ringing endorsement to eat them. McDonald's burgers are good - feel the irony. If I am at a full service restaurant, that is a bar, with hundreds of flat screens, then the burgers better be fantastic, not good. My one recommendation is to give the chef a chance to impress. The chef could create a very simple, chefs menu with two appetizers/salads and three good entrees and take his/her shot at culinary excellence. If Taco Mac ever wanted to be known for more than beer and wings. However, the owners aren't rich because they are goofing around with a working formula. Service - young, energetic, and they make good beer recommendations. The managers will have to schedule enough for busy games or the clientele will get antsy. Cut them some slack if there is a minor issue, this is not going to be their profession. Just what they need to pay the bills. If you run out of beer, just raise your glass - that is the universal sign for THIRSTY! Go for the great beer, the steaming hot wings, the enthusiastic sports fans and leave your foodie attitudes behind. It's a good sports bar to be on the deck or inside with friends. I have been coming to this Taco Mac location for 3+ years but unfortunately it has declined mostly due to the pandemic. The staff is nice, but consistent issues with food orders has been more than an inconvenience. A few months ago we ordered takeout and essentially reheated every part of our meal. We dined in a few weeks after our takeout issue and had the same problem with food so cold that we had to send back twice. Today, we sat at the bar and placed an order to go. We live less than two miles from this location, but once we got home, our chicken wraps and fries were soggy and inedible. If you are looking for beer only, this Taco Mac will be sufficient. Taco Mac Prado embodies everything a sports bar should be. And judging from their standing-room-only crowds during any major sporting event, Sandy Springs was in desperate need of this. Reasons I continue to patronize Taco Mac Prado: 1. BEER SELECTION. Yes, that is an obvious observation of all Taco Macs, but it cannot be said enough. And the Prado location in particular seems to have MORE choices (100+ taps) and also new and seasonal selections from breweries old and new. (Bells, Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Terrapin, Brooklyn, Victory, Dogfish, etc.) 2. The Staff. First of all, they always seem to outnumber the patrons. While that can be a bit annoying on first glance to the hostess stand, it really does make for fast and efficient service. Secondly, the bartenders (and many of the servers) come from other Taco Macs, so they know the drill and know their beer. 3. Atmosphere. There's not a bad seat in the house in relation to the many, many TVs. Plus, the redesign of the the old Frankies is stunning. It is a completely different place - light, airy, communal - everything you want when you want to hang out with a beer and watch 'the game'. Now, for the most important part of a restaurant review: The Food. Being a vegetarian at a sports bar is difficult, and Taco Mac sure doesn't make it any easier. That leaves my knowledge of the food limited to queso, spinach and artichoke dip, fish tacos, black bean tostadas, and portabello-California wraps. Each of these food items is fine and satisfies my need to line my stomach while I put away the awesome craftbrews, or the need to keep my mouth full while trying not to yell obscenities at the Thrashers on TV. But I would not come to (any) Taco Mac if I was truly wanting a great or healthy meal. Though my husband assures me the Three-Mile Island wings and chili are both delicious. In conclusion, TMac Prado: I salute you for everything you are. You don't try to be anything you're not, and while my veggie-burger-craving-self hates that it times, my craftbeer-loving, Thrashers & SEC-watching, Sandy Springs self LOVES it more times than not! read more

Imagine the Roadrunner when he takes off into the desert leaving the poor Coyote standing there disheveled and snarled... That's literally what our server was like. She took our drink orders, without a word, ZOOM, off she goes to disappear for 10 minutes. We literally could not get her to stand still long enough to listen. She then gets all apologetic when my friend at the table tears into her about how poorly she is paying attention to her customers, and then does this "pfffft" sound at me... Ok, I'm done.. Then, you guessed it, ZOOM... Off she goes again without a word... Get me the hell out of here now before I hurl something at this woman.. Manager comes over, apologizes, asks if he could get another server to take care of us, by this time my friend now has to leave for his job and didn't get to eat, and I'm so furious even if I were to stay and eat, the server who would be assigned to us would despise us based on the manager telling what happened, and getting the stink eye from the one that couldn't stand still long enough would have pushed me over the edge... We left at that point, and I offered to pay for the appetizer and drinks and pass them on to another table as courtesy, but the manager said don't worry about it. That's the only reason there's another star on this one... This is NOT the first time I've encountered servers at this location with attitude, lack of attention, or just not giving a damn. Then finally, a guy asks for a drink order, we place our entire order at that time. After the first guy leaves, a female stops by to take our order. Finally! I needed to wait to write this review because Taco Mac made me unhappy. But normally it is ok. Bottom line is they have a list with tons of beers. But don't be fooled, its a list. I tried to order about 6 beers and finally got the 7th one. This is because they were out. So my opinion is, instead of having 500 beers, and not enough of the good ones, shrink down your selection and have a larger stock of the good ones. Otherwise it serves it purpose. Good wings, burgers and wraps and really good salads. I have to admit the server was pretty good and I felt bad because she kept having to come back to tell me they didn't have the beer I wanted. Decided to visit last night despite all the negative reviews. Walked in at about 9 pm. I was immediately greeted and sat at a table in the side room. Our server was an African American girl from Baltimore. She was very personable and although she was serving a busy section, she provided great service! I expected the food to take forever and probably lukewarm, at best. After all, it was NFL draft night and I was in a busy sports bar. My girlfriend and I were surprised at how timely the food came out. I had some tacos. She had a quesadilla and we got an appetizer. The food was good. Between the locations I've tried the flatbreads, wings, and a burger and have not been impressed. Got home, used facilities 4 more times in 12 hour period. And by using, I mean violently.... This is a really, really, REALLY good Taco Mac/sports bar. One of the people I was with today, in our party of 30, called it "the sports bar of the future." The TVs are all enormous and brand new, HD, awesome pictures, and they are everywhere. The place is huge, there are a ton of servers-- there were clearly no expenses spared at this place. I've been to a few Taco Mac locations, and they're all about the same 2.5 stars, with the extra half star being attentive service usually in a chaotic sports watching environment. The beer is the same as beer everywhere else, and the food is usually lukewarm or cold, tasting like it was taken out of a freezer and nuked by a weak microwave. Fried mozzarella sticks, boneless buffalo wings, sweet potato fries...all overly processed, pre-prepared, slightly warm food served on wilted lettuce. This place is amazing! I used to come here years ago, and the service was questionable, and food was ok. They have done some kind of turnaround, as this place really has their act together. Service is great, plenty of TV's to ensure every football game you want is on. The wings are still the best in Atlanta, and now, even their tacos are great (this used to not be the case). Always a fun crowd to hang with, and many teams have their Atlanta fan clubs meet here, so there is lots of excitement. The place is huge with a great patio, so there is never a long wait. Ordered food to go for the office and had a few problems: I got the shrimp, Avocado, and Mango salad that came without ANY avocado, and very little beans and mango pico de gallo. None of the wings ordered ( 5 different people) came with any celery, even when no other side was chosen. Cheese dip was ordered and came in a container barely half way filled up, not to mention there were no chips, tortillas, or salsa to be found. I guess we were just supposed to drink the cheese dip? Or maybe use it as a soup? If it is listed on the menu, it should be served that way whether it's to go or in the restaurant. Taco Mac is one of my favorite restaurants and I am very disappointed. When a different server brought out our food, we were missing the ranch sauce and the buffalo sauce that we ordered. My black bean burger was completely burned to crisp, and the "Mexican corn" side dish that I ordered was COLD ( it had a clump of cheese in the middle of it). Our server then comes around to see if we needed anything, and we tell her that we need the buffalo sauce and the ranch, and we notice that she crumples up the CHECK in her hand. She was going to bring us the check immediately after we received our food, and because we were obviously irritated, she decided to wait. We finally got the sauces, and my fiancé needed a refill on his drink shortly after. Our waitress was NO WHERE to be found! He waited on a refill for about 15 minutes, before another waitress came to our table and asked if we needed anything. She then got our waitress to bring the refill to our table. I work in customer service, I get it. Sometimes you have a bad night. But this service was inexcusable. And, regardless of the service, we still left a 25% tip. However, we did leave a note on the receipt, telling her that we were not happy with the service that we received. This behavior from the staff is typical as of late, and it is unacceptable. Went on a Saturday night, granted that's an extremely busy night during football season, however after we were seated and received our first drink, no one came by for 40 minutes while waiting to place our food order. Additionally, I had asked for a game to be put on the TV but I over heard the manager tell the waitress they don't get that channel, ABC. No one ever came and told us that though. The only way we cashed out was to scream at the manager as he walked passed. To which he came, put the check on our table without saying one word or being apologetic. Horrible service. It's Saturday in October, they need to be staffed. Sadly this wasn't my first issue ever with Taco Mac, but it's definitely going to be my last. read more
