Ordered two burritos and neither of them were wrong. One was entered as a taco and the other had the wrong type of meat.

Boy does the food here is horrible. I'm sure it is always microwaved and the cheese is so pasty. Yuck. Go to a real taco joint like Taco Chons or Mi Tierra in Burnsville. You will be pleased. read more

Sat next to the intercom for 5 minutes, while a car was up at the window getting there food. No one cared to tell us that they are closed. Pulled up to window and this blonde guy looked stoned and was obviously disinterested. Showed poor customer service and lack care for the customer. My mom went thru the drive thru. The car infront of her decided to place her lengthy order at the window and not at the menu board via the speaker. It held up my mom by 20 minutes, the window employee didnt even have the basic customer service skill to apologize for the delay. When my mom did not receive both of her drinks, the employee argued that she didnt order two. She asked for a complementary beverage for her long wait and was told "no". Really Taco Johns??? missed opportunity to keep a customer happy. That is why you're in business right? read more

I had to try the double cheese chicken boss burrito and it didn't disappoint. It was hot, Juicy, flavorful, meaty, cheesy and it's big. You get to choose pico de Gallo or verde salsa but I got both. Worst taco place I've ever been too. Food was very unauthentic so that was disappointing. My meat was completely burnt and when I asked for a replacement (not a refund) the employee was very rude and denied my request. Definitely never coming here again. Taco Johns is one of the best "Mexican" fast food joints I've ever had. The food is at a reasonable price and tastes 2x better than most fast food. I highly suggest the meat and potato burrito with potato oles. I've been eating here since I was young and I've never had an issue with their food. They always keep the inside clean and they always make the food very quick. The service is usually 'Minnesota friendly' and the environment is above average (as far as fast food restaurants go). I'll continue eating here every time I visit Minnesota. read more

I must start off by saying I've never had a pleasant experience here in the past year. I always run into the same worker, whom has never been friendly, but always thought to myself; it's fast food, what do I expect?! This time around she was just down right RUDE. It wasn't just to me, she belittled everyone who ordered through the drive through. I got to hear two rounds of it, as they got my order wrong and I had to go through a second time, lucky me... the car behind me tried to order, getting incredibly rude responses as this individual worker didn't have the time of day for anyone and clearly hates her job. So, the lady left, mid-order! I really wished I had done the same as I have never been so uncomfortable trying to order a damn burrito! I don't know what to tell you, quit? I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, everyone has bad days. But, this girl deserves to be fired after what I just witnessed. We just ate at the Taco John's in Savage off of Co. Rd. 42 for lunch today. While standing at the counter placing my order, I said "I'll have one of those Apple Grande deals ..." The person taking my order said "We don't have those anymore - they were discontinued." What!?!? That was the best thing on their menu (after the Potato Oles, of course)!!! Therefore, I would like to report a travesty of justice at the Taco Johns. A crime against humanity has been committed. Not in the classic sense of the term, but you know what I mean. I hearby put Taco John's on notice: If you discontinue or otherwise mess with the Potato Oles in any manner - I will not be your loyal customer anymore, and stop writing you nice Yelp reviews such as this one. That also applies to the nacho cheese sauce you dip the Potato Oles in - don't mess with that either. The counter person said "You can have something else - like Churro." I have been coming to this location for a few years now and have had mixed experiences. While I have no overall issues with the food on this review, I do have some with the location itself. Each visit until a few months ago, I needed to ask specifically for the "super hot green sauce", and it would be sent out with my meal. The time previous to my visit today the lady told me that they now had it over at the salsa bar.....great, much easier!!! Today I go in and don't ask for the "super hot" sauce, as I figure it's over at the salsa bar.....nope, not today!!! Seriously, please make up your mind so that your customers can have a consistent experience. I also asked for some salsa in my Super Burrito that unfortunately did not make it in either. Just pulled through the drive-thru this morning and encountered the BEST SERVICE FROM A FAST FOOD JOINT I've ever experienced. I usually lower my expectations and expect a screwed up order from most fast food places. But NIKKI!!!! WOW NIKKI, you changed my outlook as I drove away. She was SO POLITE, friendly and extroverted. She was so happy and beaming it was contagious. You don't pay this gal enough I guarantee it. She is worth the money. I'll come back any morning I can, she's better than coffee!! I'm a fan of the food here and the staff is usually pretty great. The only issue that I've ran into on several different visits is how slow the drive thru and service can be at times. So be prepared to wait for your food longer than most fast food chains. read more

We haven't been to Taco Johns for a while, tonight was our first visit in a long time. We could tell the cashier was tired and frumpy. She didn't even say a word! I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered a kids cheese quesadilla, and my parents ordered the usual. I couldn't believe that they fed that to kids. It was the spiciest thing I ever ate. My parents even tried it, and they said it was spicy. My dads tacos were not even half way full with fixings. We (definitely) won't be coming back anytime soon read more

I normally wouldn't take the time to review a fast food joint, but this experience was so horrible that I felt that I needed to share... The only reason that I am giving them one star is because ZERO stars is not an option - in fact, I think that they owe ME stars after this visit. I pulled up to the drive thru at 12:40 pm. There were 2 cars ahead of me - one waiting to order and one ordering. Then the wait started. My order was taken at 1:00 PM - yes a full TWENTY MINUTES LATER! After my order was taken I waited... and waited... and waited... at 1:18 I finally was up to the pickup window. I promptly paid for my 4 hard shell tacos, my taco bravo (hard shell taco wrapped with a soft shell and beans) and my Supreme Potato Ole's. I then waited for a full 5 more minutes for my food at the window. During that time I got to witness a boy looking at the monitor and making the food one item at a time - slowly. I got to witness 2 girls standing around behind the front counter doing NOTHING (except walking in back by the drive thru to take a drink from one of their many sodas sitting near the food prep area). I got to witness the girl working the drive thru attempting to fill both the counter orders and my order. I got to witness an older gentleman handle garbage and then go right to prepping food without changing his gloves. I got to witness an older woman - manager? Off to the side working on a project and not managing the keystone cops antics of the kitchen. My food was finally served to me and I pulled forward into the parking lot to ensure my order was correct (which it was) and to try a taco. The iceburg lettuce on the taco was nice and cold. The meat was nice and cold - EXACTLY the same temp as the lettuce. (Clearly proper food temperature was not maintained causing a serious health hazard). I spit it out, threw it away, drove home and hopped on YELP. I would avoid this Taco John's location in Savage MN at all costs after what I witnessed during a not-crowded lunch time. What I witnessed brings me to question how they have not been (yet) shut down or at least corrected by the health department. With so much good Mexican food south of the river, do not be a fool and give in to the temptation to eat at this Taco John's. read more

I stopped by the drive through for lunch today and received the most amazing customer service I have ever received at any fast food restaurant. The employee that took care of me today was Nikki. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to interact with someone who takes so much pride in their work. Nikki was polite, had a smile on her face and asked me how my day was going. When she handed me my drink she assured me the top was fastened securely and that my food we be out shortly. She thanked me for my order, she thanked me for stopping and she said have a great day! Nikki is the reason I will be eating more tacos and ole's during lunch rather than burgers. I hope management knows what an AMAZING employee they have in Nikki! read more

This TJ'S has always been clean with good service except for yesterday. Here is why and my reasons to give this a low rating. The person behind the counter did not have control of the condition of cleanliness of the facility, nor did they care. It was about 130 pm at least eight tables in the place needed to be wiped down and you would think five people standing in the back would have lick of sense to make sure the place is inviting and clean. I would say there is a lack of urgency and drive to deliver a better customer experience and these peoples on this shift lack motivation. There needs to be some serious follow up with this group. You can't expect people to look for a clean table at the time day and with only one person in the facility eating at that time, this should been spotless. Get your act together and start giving people what they pay for. read more

Like several others pointed put, the food is usually fairly good but inconsistent in preperation. The staff, especially at the drive through are not motivated at all. The drive through speaker and mic have been so bad for over a year now and no one cares. You have to repeat your order several times and usually there is no reply when you finish. When you get to the window thats when the real lack of motivation and caring shine. If you get your change back its just shoved to you, no hello, no thank you, maybe a scream as to what hot sauce you want if lucky. Finally you get a bag slammed into the counter before it goes out the window and thats it. Classy, professional, welcoming service is not here. Wouldn't say anything if this happened once or twice but this has happened for months and months. No change. Clearly management here feels this is good service. read more

My parents don't make a lot of money and we rarely get the opportunity to go out to eat. One evening afternoon errands they decided to go through taco johns drive thru. My mom got the street tacos which she couldn't eat because they were to spicy. My dad order a BEEF burrito and he received a BEAN burrito. Needless to say my parents didn't eat that night . I wish restaurants like this realize that sometimes when they make a mistake it's not just the food they mess up but a whole evening. I know they won't be going there again! read more

My wife and I were in for lunch the other day and they were training in a new front counter worker. Of course I understand that this training is needed but the line was backed up 7-8 deep, all the way to the door. The trainer was just standing there watching. The cook staff was way ahead and basically starting the orders and they were being spoken. It would have been prudent I believe for the trainer to have taken over maybe every 2-3 orders to keep the flow manageable. read more

Last week a two for one coupon for two burrito supremes at the drive through got us nothing but almost empty wraps that we discovered when we got home.
