The food is also consistently delicious and the service is consistently friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is upbeat with Mexican music playing. It has an ambiance that creates a comfortable environment sitting and talking with friends or loved ones while enjoying authentic Mexican food. I've noted some of the low reviews and they generally seem to be posted by people traveling through. I can only say I am not originally from Great Falls. I grew up all over the world. I began eating Tex-Mex as an 8 year old in San Antonio, Texas. If that doesn't form a person's palate for what true Tex-Mex tastes like, then nothing will. La Cocina's kitchen staff knows exactly what they're doing and they do a great job. Sure, it might not be as spicy as one might find in San Antonio, but the spices used are exceptionally flavorful and appropriate, especially for Great Falls clientele, which, after all, is the target customer base. If you're as adventurous as I am and just like eating something super spicy, they provide El Yucateco Chile Habanero sauce right at the table! The food is served piping hot every time. This place deserves 5 star reviews all day long. Writing this review has made me hungry. I'm definitely heading back to La Cocina for lunch today.

I…read moreunderstand it's mostly native Americans and whites who live predominantly in this area but as a Mexican from California and has family from New Mexico it is not the best .. if you've ever had food from California you know authentic real good and this is not it . No offense to the workers they seemed very nice for the most part ... My waitress was a blonde woman who had fast service and brought my mixed drinks out with speed . Other than the "authentic" food I think everything else is cool. Nice decor nice gambling area and nice bar as well too And in my opinions the shredded chicken puffy taco was far better than the ground beef dog food style meat ALSO THEY SERVE A DAMN WHOLE BED OF LETTUCE AND CHEESE ON TOP OF THE TACO WHICH TAKES AWAY FROM MEAT PORTIONS INSIDE OF IT .... Do with this informations what you will maybe I'm biased...

I ordered the carne asada tacos, chips and salsa, and a Coke, and it was hands down the best Mexican food I've had in Great Falls, or frankly, all of Montana. The carne asada tacos were perfection--tender, flavorful, and grilled just right. The tortillas tasted fresh and had that perfect balance of softness and sturdiness to hold all the goodness together. The salsa had the right amount of kick and paired beautifully with the crispy, well-seasoned chips. This place brought me back to the taquerias of SoCal. It's as authentic as it gets up here in Big Sky Country. Whether you're craving tacos or just need a taste of real Mexican food, 9th Street Taco is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back!
